i have searched everywhere and i would give just about anything for it!

    he is amazingly wonderful! :)

  • @ktbaibee There is no sheet music for it. Liberace played it by ear and never wrote down the piece. Good luck though.

  • @ktbaibee He hasn't written a score for it. No one has written a score for El Cumbanchero played to this caliber. It's unfortunate, it truly is.

  • Awesome composition by the master composeer of Puerto Rican origin RAFAEL HERNANDEZ. It is so exoticly beautiful and overflowing with infectious energy. My respects to the memory of such great popular Puerto rican composer.

Lorgio Coimbra / Los Angeles, CA.

  • bad... the song is totally wasted... the actual feeling of the song has vanished

  • It is a mix of 2 songs: El cumbanchero and El Cumana. This arrangement as been done by Richard Abel and an old pianist of the OSM (symphonical orchestra of Montréal). They also add a part of the left hand part of another piece that I forgot the name. That's why maybe you find this is not like the real El cumbanchero.

  • The other piece is Sabre Dance (Aram Khatchaturian). C'est la Danse du Sabre.

Were you playing with Richard when he did the first part of the Connie Francis Concert Oct 21 2004 in Montreal ? I was there for Connie but I think Richard was great that night. He was also playing first part of another Connie Francis Concert in Nov 2005 in Toronto. I was there too. Cheers!

  • No, I wasn't there. That year I played with him at Granby and Quebec city.

  • i love that staccattos!!

  • very pleasant to play this piece with him. I play with M. Abel since 2003 in the Laval-Laurentides youth orchestra, and never get tire of that piece. A lot of energy!

  • Cool. It sounds like Chopin on vacation.
