@XCViet No, The Rock isn't part Asian. His grandfather (the man in this clip) is from the Isle of Samoa, as are the rest of his mother's side of the family, and his father is African-American.
OH MAH GAWD PETER MAIVIA WAS JUST BUSTED OPEN WITH THAT BUDDHA STATUE WITH THAT DISGUSTING BUDDHA SHOT BY JAMES BOND. MAH GAWD KING I THINK HE'S OUT COLD
Looking at this fight scene I got to say it is one of the best, particularly with Bond using whatever weapons are at hand including the furniture. It is fast paced and well thought out. I heard one of the Martial Arts advisors was Don Dragger the ex-Marine and weapons expert.
The fat man that James Bond is fighting, is Dwane "The Rock" Jonhson grandfather Peter Fanene Maivia. He was also stunt fight choreographer for this movie.
yes, connery was better than moore for the fight scenes... but only in the very early Bonds : if you look again that sequence, you'll see that it is not Sean at all, except during the close-up !
quite a few people have said that, i think your right.and for some reason i always though that roger moore was shorter than connery but hes not, hes 6 foot 2!!!
yeah i agree, growing up as a kid in the eighties i always prefered roger moore as bond!!! but later on as i watched the connery films i found it hard to pick my favourite!! i think lazenby wasnt a bad bond, he was meant to do live and let die and the man with the golden gun but he was badly advised by his agent to only do one film!!!
Roger Moore is shorter, but, not much. When Connery did the bond movies, was listen: 6 ft 2.5, and every time look that height, and Moore was 6ft 1.5. the diference was not much, 1 inch.
@goldyn12345 I agree. Although both Dalton and Moore had their place in the pantheon of Bond actors. I want lighter fare, I pull out a Moonraker, I want to see a hard badass bond I grab License to Kill.
If I'm not mistaken the Bond villain in this scene is of Japanese/Hawaiin descent. :)

Bond uses: couch: some effect
Bond uses: sword: deflection
Bond uses: statue: super effective!

0:21 Only Bond would use a couch as weapon.

You know he (Peter Maivia) does look like Dwayne Johnson since he is his grandfather. Same eyes and smile.

Everything about this fight scene is awesome, but you can't help but laugh a little at how the guy falls down at the end.
spawnoftheshred 2 years ago
@spawnoftheshred I thought the guy was sort of trying to regain his footing but then just passed out and crumpled.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Connery was too fat and bored in this movie, and the plot was ludicrous.

you would say that blofeld lol i can just see you know sitting at your computer stroking your white cat lol

oh fuck off, wtf would u know about the bond movies. all u americans tend to say is that "oh lazenby was the best". typical american whingeful moan.
matt2house 2 years ago
No, most Americans say "Brosnan was the best"; I'm in the minority, bub. ;-)
blofeld39 2 years ago
Ye buddy, I thought Lazenby was the WORST 007 actor. I thought Sean Connery was the best in that day.

i think roger looks a bit uncoordinated at his fighting scenes. he flails his legs and somehow knocks someone out.

quite a few people have said that, i think your right.and for some reason i always though that roger moore was shorter than connery but hes not, hes 6 foot 2!!!
goldyn12345 2 years ago
there are some pros and cons about roger being 007. i think hes a pretty good replacement considering hes uncoordinated in fighting scenes.

edgarivanrivero 2 years ago
yes craig is yhr shortrst bond, though i dont know how tall george lazenby and timothy dalton are.
goldyn12345 2 years ago
Dalton is 6'2"
sheemobile 2 years ago
yeah sounds about right, did you think he was a good bond?
goldyn12345 2 years ago
I thought he was awesome in LTK. I never saw TLD yet. He was supposed to star in Goldeneye, wish he didn't resign, he should of done one more
sheemobile 2 years ago
most critics say that dalton played bond too seriously, roger moore played him with a lot of humour. i think sean connery had the perfect blend!!!
