The E39 M5 is one of my favourite cars ever, but overall Audi have done more of what I prefer in engineering terms. Beemers stood back on V-engines and turbo's for too long across their range.

The Gallardo V10 is an Audi motor? I've heard this claim before and its too bad that its not true. The motor seen in the Gallardo is a 5-5.6 liter V10 based apon an original 3.9 liter V10 found in the Lamborghini Cala concept seen in 1995 (Audi didn't take the bull by the horns until 1999). The Gallardo motor is a Lamborghini cast motor. Infact the heads and internals are based primarely apon the Lamborghini V12. So anotherwords the Audi R8 5.2 has a Lamborghini motor, not the other way around.

Sorry my main man but the "TTV8 M5" is a complete false braught on by silly magazine editors that like to start bogus rumors. There might be a twin turbo V8 5-series but it will not be label'd with the "M" badge. The M devision does NOT do forced induction and won't change that fact because Audi is producing a V10 in the RS6 with the same literage as the M5 V10 just with a measily 80 extra hp braught about by turbo. Yet, it makes no difference in speed because the Audi weighs too much.

RS6 weighs 2.3 tonnes (kg) same as a porsche cayenne and does a 0-60 of 4.5 or so..again stage 2 or 3 you're pushing towards 800-900hp effortlessely. Fair enough though I'll never deny calibre of a proper M engine, in the M5 they hit the 100hp/litre mark, no mean feat

The Lambo V10 5.0 is built by Lamborghini.
The V10 5.2 is made by Audi, but there a many different versions (S8, R8, Gallardo,...)
The V10 5.0 BiT (RS6) is a modificated 5.2, so it's still an Audi engine.

There might be a twin turbo V8 5-series but it will not be label'd with the "M" badge. The M devision does NOT do forced induction and won't change that fact because Audi is producing a V10 in the RS6 with the same literage as the M5 V10 just with a measily 80 extra hp braught about by turbo. Yet, it makes no difference in speed because the Audi weighs too much.

@RobbyRaiAshtray1122 Don't forget how limited Audi would have been in manufacturing constraints...all the RS badgs in the world you can't justify much more than 575hp from an estate car from the factory without astronomical prices. RS6 weighs 2.3 tonnes (kg) same as a porsche cayenne and does a 0-60 of 4.5 or so..again stage 2 or 3 you're pushing towards 800-900hp effortlessely. Fair enough though I'll never deny calibre of a proper M engine, in the M5 they hit the 100hp/litre mark, no mean feat

no no, a Passat is not an A6. A6 has a bigger platform, the same as a Skoda Suberb (witch is a very good car)
Audi's interiors are far beter then VW interior, that just shows after 10 years of use. But BWM is still a beter car.... Although the A6 avant is a big and very fast car, there's something about BMW... It's more a drivers car, audi and specially VW are car's that make you be an old man.

A 3.2 litre straight six with a supercharger vs a new 5.2 litre V10, with two fucken turbos... bloody obvious whoes going to win. The RS6 is barely quicker than an m5 ( which is like 5 years old now) and its boosted. When the next gen M5 comes out in the next year, its once again going to rape all and sundry.
