nice tutorial... personally i make my zombies with a REALLY light layer of green because in the heat it turns kinda yellowish and looks like rotting infected flesh. overall i liked it. something else you could try is grey makeup... added a REALLY cool zombie color and you dont look like the joker or the hulk when you have blood on. just food for thought... Nice job!

The best color to use as a base is called "death flesh." it looks professional and it's cheap. "Misty Violet" can be used for the shadows such as around the eyes, cheeks and temple areas on the face. This is only if you want it to look realistic. Although green make up has been used in the past in zombie flicks (zombie lake), it doesn't quite cut it.

The make up effects are awesome. I wouldn't do just a solid green color alone, i would use other colors. The color of rotting flesh does vary and is rarely just one solid color.

It depends on a whole raft of factors including cause of death, the ambient temperature and location of the body, condition of the subject prior to death etc The Solanum virus (if we're going by the Brooks doctrine) could mutate or attack the body in a variety of ways depending on the means of infection. That said, saying Zombies shouldn't be green is like saying Dracula shouldn't be bald because Vlad the Impaler wasn't bald.

I think the makeup you all did was campy and fun. I loved it and the tips you gave were very good. What is a realistic zombie anyway...like you've said before they aren't real. Not everyone has to do a "traditional" Ramero zombie this ones more Scooby-Doo and I think it's great for funnier movies or Halloween. When I draw my zombies I usually make them green because green flesh reminds people of Frankenstien's monster or someone who is sick.
