  • Is Genie still living next to Zabu and Cameron? Canyon was moved to another enclosure as he was nervous being around lions and tigers, am I wrong? Anyway, do they still have sand in their enclosures?

  • @90Kirame Genie was never living next to Cam/Zabu, that was Canyon. Canyon was fine in that enclosure he was never scared of his tiger/lions neighbors they were 20+ft away, but he as been relocated to a larger enclosure in the centre of the sanctuary, yes both sand cat enclosures still have sand :)

  • @BigCatRescue Thank you for your reply! It seems I misheard that part when I said Canyon was afraid to Cameron and Zabu. I checked it and it said he WASN'T afraid of them. Sorry, my mistake!

  • I love sand cats! They're so adorable! <3

  • Haha big cat rescue?? More like teeny tiny :P

  • so cute..i want!

  • so cute..i want!

  • at the and of the day all cats love climbing trees :D

  • they are so cute ^_^

  • Is this somewhere in Australia?

  • @evanescencedragon Nope, Tampa Florida :)

  • @BigCatRescue ugh! wish we had em in Perth

  • @BigCatRescue Damn, i would have loved to have seen all these animals. I may be a canime person but when i see a giant cat (or wild cat) I swoon (Dangerous!)

  • I love them

  • So why do you think Sand Cat's belong in a cage? Are they agressive or dangerous animals? How large do they get and to what weight? Why are they any differant than a common house cat? Do they like human contact?

  • @KenpoKarate4U We don't think they belong in a cage no animal belongs in a cage, like all wild animals they can be aggressive and dangerous. Canyon is around 6-7lbs I believe they can get up to 10-11lbs from what I have read. They are different from domestic cats because they have their wild instincts and don't like to be around people at all...

  • What an amazing species of Cat.

  • Aw, sorry, I accidentally disliked this video...

I love these cats, they are so beautiful! Helping them is such a nice thing to do :)

  • i have to ask, is their fur soft or coarse?

  • @zionfeather7 We don't have contact with our cats but when we sedated Canyon to remove an ingrown claw I had the privilege of stroking him and the fur was surprisingly soft!

  • Thank You All @ BCR!

  • I have never heard or seen a Sand Cat before! what is the origin?

  • @madcatgreg1 Sahara desert and parts of the middle east, you can watch our species spotlight video for more info :)

  • @BigCatRescue I just wanna say thank you to you and evry one ho helps theese poor unluky cats !!! i truly wich that i can donat but i'm too young to have money or banq account :/ i wish you guys good luck for all and thanks for all !!

  • @thekoalak Thanks for the support! We're doing our best :)

  • I am absolutely in love with all of your videos!

Unfortunately I live all the way in Canada but someday I really hope to come visit all the lovely Big Cats you've got there. :]

  • That's a beautiful cat right there. Beautiful animal.

  • I live in Russia and I've seen a lot af web-sale of these and other wild cats. Just ricently I've seen one of such web sites. There were sand cats, fishing cats, tigers, jaguars... even black panters and white tigers and lions for sale. All of them were small kittens.

So I have a question... They always say that all of their animals aren't born on freedom so they can sale it and even can make 'documents', so it's legal to buy.I really dout that. But still... What u think about that?

  • @cgdrhgt I'm unsure of the laws in Russia, but it's legal to breed and sell these animals in over half of the USA unfortunately :(

  • i want one can i have one.can this b a pet?

  • @goodburer123 Hopefully you're joking?

  • @BigCatRescue yesterday was the first tie i ever saw them i know now they are not pets. they are to cute though

  • @goodburer123 These a WILD animals. The domesticated cat as we know it, took thousands of years to get to where it is today. You cant' just take a sand-cat kitten and "bottle-feed it to friendship" Instead you'll get something closer to a wild beast with 10 pound temper in a 5 pound bag. And even if you sterilize it and try and teach it manners, it WILL spray urine to mark its territory and it will SMELL like HELL! Get a house cat, and learn to appreciate it for what it is, and not for its looks

  • @goodburer123 It's not possible for these creatures to be pets - it took several thousand years to domesticate our own house cats! You might hear about people who "own" them, but it's a very bad idea, since the cats wouldn't be happy at all.

HOWEVER! If you love wild animals, and really want to interact with them, you should definitely look into volunteering with a reputable sanctuary. ^_^

  • What a beautiful animal

  • I'm doin a project on these little guys :) any cool facts?

  • @bump40 You can watch our species spotlight video for lots of info :)

  • I had never heard of these cats before coming across this video...such beautiful animals. And, so fortunate to have found this wonderful sanctuary.

  • What big eyes has this cute cat!!!!!it's just like a domestic cat!!

    really really lovely!!!:)

  • i think they like to climb trees because the desert doesn't have many.

  • Ooooooo thats one mahoosive litter box! hehehehe

  • Question: you have ads at the bottom of the videos; they give you the option of skipping them. If I allow the ad to play, does Big Cat Rescue get the money? If so, I'm going to let those ads play!

    Let me know.

  • @whiskerchild That's a good question, I'd guess yes we would get more money :) Thank you!

  • I have never heard of these lil guys untill today and OMG they are ADORABLE!

I like only about and hour 1/2 away from Tampa and have been dieing to visit this place. Maybe I can convince my parents to take me as a graduation present. XD

  • @PerfectPride Convince! Convince! :)

  • they are so amazing cute! ^^

  • Why cant people keep sand cats as pets? They're so tiny!

  • @MsRobin1101 Yes, but they have the attitude of a tiger, spray, scratch, hiss and most importantly don't want to be "pets" they're wild animals.

  • go feed the homeless

  • @Ochn77

The homeless don't need more food. They need a job, an apartment and to get off the sauce.

  • so adorable! looks just like a house cat with a wide face :) do they come in different colors?

  • @kougasonlygirl Nope, they are always the sandy color like Canyon in the video :)

  • you are beautiful!

  • they're so gorgeous and funny how they benefiting the sand

  • how big do the cats grow?

  • @Jiglobil1 The sand cats in this video are fully grown, sand cats can weigh anywhere from 3-8lbs :)

  • They have beautiful faces. I take it they would not be good house pets in a loving home?

Bless you people for what you do.

  • @whiskerchild Nope, they are very cute and tiny, but they are still 100% wild and would make terrible pets.

  • @BigCatRescue on one video thre was people with sand cats living in their house

  • It's really awesome you were able to give them sand!!!

@littlepeek You don't want one, they're really wild animals (even if they're tiny), they're not domestic cats...

  • these cats are amazing you are doing great things for them! :D

  • What beautiful kitties! I've never seen them before.

  • I WANT ONE! SO CUTE!

  • you guys are awsome!

  • hi i, am fofo and my cat antar

  • hi boys im fofo i want to talk to girls and boys and i want to tel you about me and my cat the stranger history me and my cat we eat and sleep togather so send me if you like

  • i m fofo and my cat antar we eat and sleep together

  • You guys at BCR are excellent. Thanks very much for all you do to protect these animals and give them great homes when things at their natural homes are going wrong. Without you guys, these beautiful animals could be dead, but with your caring and hard work and the help of your supporters, you've saved many lives.

    Thanks very much for that!

  • hi i,am fofo and my cat antar

  • awww! i want one!

  • are you breeding to increase wild animal population ?

  • @runrunforest1 We don't breed at BCR, we would rather put our resources towards rescuing cats from bad situations and save their lives. Captive bred cats are very very rarely released into the wild and if we cannot conserve the habitat for cats already in the wild we are in serious trouble!...

  • @BigCatRescue I am not saying you should release them to the wild, because poachers is everywhere waiting . What I want to say is, breed them, so that that species will survive.

Since you don't either breed or release those animals you are helping a hand to make them to extinct faster. In other word, you are just a pet owner, and you use those pets to enrich yourself with donation money.

  • @runrunforest1 Our sand cats are in the captive breeding stud books and if they are needed for breeding programs they are available at breeding facilities. All our other cats are not good candidates for captive breeding programs, they are cross bred or inbred and are not good genetic samples from which to breed from, we also cannot trace their history back to their birth.

  • @runrunforest1 yeah im sure he is looking after them to make himself rich you fucken tool....I for one thank him for not acting like alota zoo's do and giving them small glass enclosures

thankyou BigCatResue for doing the best you can I appreciate it

  • I have seen few in the Algerian desert (Sahara). There are few cheetahs and Barbary leopards and some Serval cats in Northesat Algeria but they are endangered species.

  • So, I watch a lot of your videos, and I would like to know where your Big Cat Rescue Sancturary at? Or do you have multiple ones. Because I would like to volunteer for anything a 12 year old girl can do!:)

  • @smilyxcutyxxwarriors Hi, we are located in Tampa FL, visit our website to find out ways you can help, THANKS!!

  • sand cat looks like domestic cat to me.

  • What's the brother and sister sand cats' story?

  • @KawaiiKemonomimi They are captive born offspring from sand cats that were taken from the wild before operation desert storm in order to protect the species. Our sand cats weren't bred at BCR (we do not breed) they are on the species survival plan list, in case they are needed for breeding in the future :)

  • Great video. Thanks Lindsey for being so thoughtful and giving to these beautiful cats and the great organization! BCR!

  • so why can't they be put into the wild?

  • @MrGuitarcovers10 Captive bred cats are very rarely released into the wild, they have to learn how to hunt, all our cats associate people with food, they would become nuisance animals and end up being killed.

  • @BigCatRescue thanks for the info i didn't realize they were bred in captivity

  • Cats love sand. I wouldn't recommend... digging where they recently covered sand because cats love to bury pungent surprises in the sand.

  • These cats look so content with their new sand!

  • they are so cute =]

  • it would be funny if they played together jumping around like crazy :)

  • Thanks BCR! I'm so addicted to your You Tube Videos and I've learnt so much. Living in Australia, where owning exotic species like big cats is reserved for zoos with permits, I had no idea that there was such a problem in the US and the pet trade. I'm glad that there's an organisation such as yourselves that are doing their best to help these beautiful animals and I'm doing my best to spread the word down here :)

  • do you sell it

  • do you actually sell it to ppl?

  • @koolbraden44 No, we don't breed, buy or sell :)

  • @BigCatRescue oh haha ok jw

  • @BigCatRescue Are these guys kinda related to the cat breed the Munchkin?

  • you guys are doing a great job BCR! its my first time hearing about sand cats! thanks for sharing these vids, and those cats are so adorable! it must be fun to work there!

  • @NewBetrayal Thanks for watching!

  • They are beautiful. I'm not a big cat guy but I gotta say I'd take one of those. I like their markings.

  • I wonder if you could get one of those cats to live as a normal cat? I live in europe and they look awesome and cute and if i could save the life of a poor little cat that would be cool too, im not some kind of exotic trader believe me and correct me if i'm being silly but would it be possible? (:

  • @Erreman2000 Hi, the simple answer is no, many of our cats (we have 130) are former "pets" people purchase them when they're cute and cuddly, being told they can be trained and domesticated but this isn't he case, they are wild animals with wild instincts and never make suitable "pets" no matter what their size :)

  • lol they have funny heads

  • @Ryboy1381 Yep! :) All cats can bite, not that anyone as ever been bitten at BCR, but no matter what the size of the cat, they can all be dangerous!

  • Bless you guys at BigCatRescue!!! You do a really great job there!!

  • @Roniel81 THANK YOU!

  • Are sand cats big cats?

  • @ArmoredRhino I guess not :) They're an exotic species of cat.

  • I never knew this species existed till now! They`re beautiful! Thanks for the vid.

  • I had never heard of a Sand Cat until about six months ago. They are so beautifully exotic looking. What a wonderful home you have given them.

  • these cats are so precious! what a wonderful donation to the sanctuary! :)

  • CAN SAND CATS LIVE IN AMERICAN DESERTS

  • @TheCBNtv I'm sure they could survive, but they will never live there.

  • Finally a cat that is cuter than my cat!!! sooo cute.

  • 'Best life in captivity' - how about letting them free you idiot - maybe if I locked you up in an enclosure so I could profit from people peering in at you - and then stated 'well I have added a few trees and grass etc' - captivity is wrong - you cannot ever justify it - FU. Let them free.

  • @newcastlebooks We wish we could and we wish it were that simple, but all our cats are RESCUED, we do not breed our cats. They are rescued from bad situations and provided with a permanent home for the rest of their life. Wild species of cats are very rarely released back into the wild, ours cannot be released.

  • @BigCatRescue That was a great thing that that woman did. The sand cats look quite happy with their new sand to prowl in! I am a HUGE cats lover and it made me ecstatic watching the sand cats play in their sand. Too bad I'm under 18 or I would donate to you guys! Keep it up!

  • @newcastlebooks Good grief!! Your post was unnecessarily rude. I trust you now better understand the work being done for these animals.

  • they are beautiful :]

  • lol they never smile :p

  • i just saw this man 5 minutes ago at Animal planet , The show called Untamed and uncut :D About a Leopard trapped in a Well made of clay so it was stuck

and i found out Big cat rescue is in India :O

  • This Cat looks kinda scary esp. the Eyes!!!!!

  • i love cats! Praise the Lord for these animals. They make me smile every time!

  • dear humanity: please get over your need to cry: i want one! i want one! every time you see something you like and please stop destroying everything you touch

  • How wonderful!! So heartening to see people helping animals...thank you...

  • The cuteness is giving me a seizure :( x lol

  • they look like house cats with good hair product to give their hairs body

  • Sand Cats are beautiful. I'm studying them for a biology project I'm doing. ^.^ I think it's wonderful you were able to get all that sand for them.

  • very cute at 2:25

  • Looks like the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland!!! Naaaaw! Gorgeous!

  • All cats loves to hide them self, in caves and so on, animal lovers !

  • I have a couple of questions for you?:

Do you plan on getting an unrelated male/female to breed them eventually?

Are there any efforts (Like Bengal cats) to hybridize this one so people will stop importing a wild animal they may be ill equipped to care for?

  • @Dreamcast270mhz We don't breed at the sanctuary, there are so many cats out there that need a good home, breeding cats goes against our mission. Our sand cats are part of the species survival plan though. I hope there are no efforts to hybridize this species as well, breeding wild cats with domestic cats is an abusive practice.

  • I see, I disagree but that's your opinion. The only reason I support hybrid efforts like the Bengal and Savannah is that it allows someone wanting a designer cat to not threaten a wild species by importing them, instead they get a cat that has the likeness they want. But I do agree there are too many cats needing a good home.

I think you misunderstood me in my breeding question, I was referring to breeding them captively to keep zoos from importing wild ones. I enjoy these videos, thanks

  • @BigCatRescue why is it abusive?

  • @osheem Well firstly all of our wild species of cats would rather eat the domestic cat than mate with it, secondly the breeders doing this often discard the early generations and only want the later generations that can be more manageable. Others will sell first generation kittens claiming them to be fifth generation kittens for example, the buyers discover this the hard way and often end up dumping the cat they paid thousands for in shelters if they take them.

  • @BigCatRescue we were at this place and we saw them in a bush they were hissis and snapping

  • @BigCatRescue i just saw this man 5 minutes ago at Animal planet , The show called Untamed and uncut :D About a Leopard trapped in a Well made of clay so it was stuck

  • Beautiful cat! So nice of you to give them so much space. Do you have any Andean Mountain Cats? They are so rare, but very cute too.

  • Thanks we provide the best enclosure we can for our cats, we don't have any andean mountain cats though :( but this is a good thing!

  • Beautiful cat! So nice of you to give them so much space. Do you have any Andean Mountain Cats? They are so rare, but very cute too.

  • ive been to a zoo in the uk and they were in a nocturnal house behind glass with not alot of room, at the back was one sand cat and it was walking back and forth back and forth and it really upset me they looked so bored.

  • the sand cats are so cute =)

  • cute!!

  • Love it I have 5 cat's. never hered of sand cats

  • what do you feed them? I'm guessing raw mice.

  • We feed all our cats a specially designed carnivore diet which comes in HUGE sausage tubes. This is all the ground organs etc... of animals with added nutrients and minerals. Then in Canyon's case he will either get chicken necks, whole dead chicks or sm rats :) yummy!

  • The face of this cat is verry beautiful

  • Hehe, I call them Margarita Cats!! :3

They have such cute faces! To me they are like the Fennec Foxes of the cats. :3

  • Should call da cat a fox cat its face looks like one the way it is structured

  • My cat Trigger looks like a Sand cat, his head is fat and his ears are like that...

  • Aww how sweet, that was really nice of you guys to do and also for the donor :) they must have had a ball at night once they were out in the sand! <3

  • They look so content with their habitat, Thanks for all the hard work you do for these felines.

  • beautiful kitties!!! like a domestic kitty with an edge hehe

  • They do look like they have a lot of cattitude. :)

  • Where are you based? I live in Thailand. Anyway I could help?

  • We are in Tampa Florida, you can visit BigCatRescue*org to find out ways to help our cause :) THANK YOU!

  • cool! I'm a liker of cats both big and small... this was really informative and interesting. thank you

  • Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching :)

  • do you have any pakistan sand cats? I did a report on them a long time ago and it was interesting learning about them and other wild cat species.

  • Our sand cats were captive born at a international cat conservation organization :)

  • I thought the name Pakistan Sand Cats was a breed, not a location name for a type of sand cats. hmm. good to know. Looking at this is still seems that though they were raised in captivity, they've kept some of their wild attributes.

  • Come one people!Lets Donate!!!

  • Thanks for the support!

  • I think they would like some grass too, besides just sand.

  • What happend if you put a sand cat with a normal cat? will they have a fight?

  • Definitely!

  • they are soooooo cute

  • They're adorable! Kudos for treating them so well. If you ever find a cuddly sand cat, send me in!!

  • That's so cool, i like the music you have playing in the background too

  • Glad you liked it :)

  • sand cat? Sounds like an unencyclopedia thing but it turns out they're real. Wow. Cute though, like the cat I have. Are all sand cats the same colour scheme?

  • Yep all sand cats are the pale sandy yellow you see, cute but not cuddly!

  • What if I cuddled one? Would it bite me?

  • Definitely!

  • I like sand cat |
