you need to realise that the guy has probably been singinghis heart out all night, and is very liely absolutely stuffed so its very difficult for him to sing the song exactly the same as the original. thats why he talks some of it and misses bits and pieces.

It's just you. Jon's voice is great it may not have been his best vocal performance but what can you expect it live and when you do long shows your voice starts to wear out a bit.

I don't think they remix it...

They're just in a studio situation which is a lot different than live. :) In the studio they have all of the sound options and equipment and as many takes as they want.

...Anyway, Switchfoot rocks.

He does speak live, but normally it's more speech-like than that. I think it's both: his voice is hurting because when he does his speech he has more of a Martin Luther King Jr. emphasis (but not accent of course). I wish there was a video of their Waco concert. He was yelling.

What a load of rubbish. He is one of the best unknown singers at the moment (Unknown in the US). The guy was knackered that night, look at his face in say, American Dream he is shattered. The music is excellent aswell. Listen to the lyrics aswell. God sake think before you post.
