  • When you stand before Jesus you will feel great sorrow when you remember making this video. Repent of your sins and turn to God. It is not too late.

  • What I find ironic is that humanist seem to claim they don't believe in religion yet their videos sound just as religious as all the christian ones. It plays all the harp music and soft melodies that are so soothing to us. It speaks of the same unity as every other christian does which convinces me that atheist are not immune from the religious tendancies of human nature. They just chose to identify God as the collective itself.

  • @timbosforporn This is a simple use of vehicles that invoke a base sensation to receive a message. Neither would use Dethklok in an effort to relay a sense of feeling good. The lack of religion is reported to be an even stronger sense of awe than when living locked in a dogma of any sort.

  • Your spiritual salvation come from your own inner reflection with your own conscience and not from your outer reflection with others

  • White men always try to show they are closer to God because of their white skin, yet they do the most to deny him.

  • Humanists are in denial about overpopulation. John Lennon is a perfect example. They made a deal with the devil, the corporatists, to help the third world, giving birth to globalism. Now the next generation is doomed to un "imangine" able suffering. No thanks!

  • Why globalism is so evil?i think the methods can be evil if this is done wrong. But the lack of wars and conflicts can be achieved only if we see ourself as people on Earth. If we keep to keep nations at distance we will always have conflicts and war. Is just an opinion and a simple answer. But as i see, the manipulation and problems come from labeling groups of people and then make them think they are diffrent because of that label.

  • Globalism is evil because the people are not represented in the process, because it is based on trade powered by fossil fuel, because it takes away the rights of local people to pass environmental laws, because it encourages overpopulation of green areas to provide cheap labor to the robber barons, because it drives poor farmers off their land to work in the facories in the big cities, etc. If you think it is "done wrong" , who you gonna call?

  • WTF?

This is an answer? Are you actually claim that this would be the process?

What basis do you have to believe this? Conspiration teories? You just describe the actual situation without mentioning the wars, conflicts and self nation interest.

Who do you call for actual situation? A planet divided and manipulate to go to wars against itself? Divided groups (nations) will be easilly manipulated to start a conflict for the interest of robber barons" like it does now.

  • Study something about groups and psihology. people who are part of a group are harder to make fight each other. But is easyer to make them fightyng against another group.

why? Because they don't know much about the other group. Is told that the other group is evil etc. so people who are good has wives and children home are fighting eachother. and UE is a globalization process. US is also. People will unite under one nation: Terra. And this is my opionion is a good think.

  • I don't think humanists are in denial about overpopulation. We understand that there is overpopulation. Being a humanist doesn't mean we want to end contraception.

Quality over quantity. We'll all have a better life when overpopulation doesn't force anyone to starve. A humanistic way of ensuring that would be proper sex education and freedom of choice on contraception.

  • From 1975 to 2000, America sent contraception and sex education to the third world, but they largely rejected it. There are many reasons for this. One reason is that many third world countries are male dominated, and they view children and women as a sources of wealth. They put kids to work, and even use them as soldiers. Given a long time and several planets worth of resources, we could probably use voluntary methods, i.e. do it your way. In view of these limitations, what would you do?

  • Awesome video man! Nicely done and certainly much better than religions who coerce goodness through fear and a promise after death. I believe waiting for death is a morbid philosophy, just do good because it's right. People who attack humanism just don't get it that not all people will do bad things to others if there is no "god" figure to dole out punishment. Seems to me that Christians must be really awful people if they need a god to watch over their behavior.

  • Humanism is man making himself God. If people want to attack Christians or the Bible; would they attack with the same ferocity; the people who follow a humanist philosophy where [ I choose what is right and wrong based on my own moral relativity ] If so; where does THAT lead? Humanists might say it's not a religion but I believe the Supreme court disagreed.

  • It would be a problem if a umanist will not accept corect point of view and refuse to think. I'm not an umanist but i stick with: people know whats wrong or goog and they can achieve morality analizyng the results of theyrs action.

  • Simply amazing.

  • nice video man well done

  • ROLF!!! How cute! Men who think they can determine their own brand of morality!!

  • people without morality and feeling should stick with religion. The atheists should let them alone. If religious people find out there is no god they may do random things like killing raping etc...

  • not like religion has been stopping them from doing it....

  • yea... but imagine doing it without religion....

  • Would you considor humanism to be a religion?

Is humanism really inspired by compassion?

The guy in white at the beginnig doing some sort of eastern spiritual exercise (possibly tai chi)...what made you choose such an image?

Given the many eye witness accounts of Jesus' ressurection from the dead, how would you explain such a miracle and countless other miracles that still happen today?

Do humanists really respect differing veiws?

  • No we wouldn't consider Humanism to be a religion; don't believe in a God. Let's see is religion really inspired by compassion? Because what I've seen in the bible there's genocide of entire cities and stoning for minor things, example: talking back to parents, or picking up sticks on the Sabbath. As well there is no evidence for the ressurection of Jesus, there's not even historical evidence for Jesus. Hey people have sightings of Elvis, 2pac, and aliens. Doesn't mean there still alive does it?

  • im humanist but iagree the guy doin tai chi, the toddler running in the orchad in the end , its a lil woo woo fer me but to each their own. as fer jesus? eyewitness testimony is actually 1 of the worst forms of acuratly representing events.ppl saw mohammed preform miracle , others less well known have supossedly been resurected also but with publicists no where as effective.

  • One of my favorite YouTube videos ! :)

  • I love this video, for it is true. Thats all one need's to say. If you do not see the truth in this then i pity you for you do not see life for what it is. Man! that sounded gay, nevertheless i meant it.

  • I am now two minutes and fifty two seconds closer to knowing what a lobotomy feels like.

  • All you people who use examples from the Bible as evidence of Christianity being something bad are VERY BAD. If you took any time to try to understand anything you would understand the difference between the old and new covenant and the purpose of both, which I won't take time to explain since that information is readily available.

Instead you just pick and choose whatever will support opinions you already have. Why do atheists seem the most bent on pissing on others' beliefs?

    this is empty bs

  • This is extremely creepy...

  • I like this vid.

  • its an ideological video u dumbasses its not supposed to have "content"

  • They don't believe in God but they believe in Devil...because they are the DEVIL! lol

  • 100% fluff. Zero content.

  • Keep truckin' brother..

  • humanism sucks!!!

  • Dude hatin on the Jesus fish, not cool man.

  • nice religous sentiments, Why should Stalin , Hitler , Mao, Pol-pot, Pinochet, Jeffery Dahmer , the milk man, fuzzy bunnies and lovely fairies believe you over their own version of the truth?

  • Beautiful video! - Swedish Atheist

  • this video was unwatchabel, kept freezing up, i see another viewer had the same problem

  • Yeah, I dont know whats wrong with it. I will try and reload it when I can.

  • Fantastic. This should be used as a TV commercial.

  • This was bueatiful! =^_^=

  • Humanism is the best answer at this time to the divisions, delusional dogmas which prevent progression of the moral zeitgeist. It may come across as a fluffy bunny, unrealisitc, shallow attempt at a utopian society but what the hell have you got better philosophy?

  • Dude, I know the rest of that last sentence. Trust me, I'm right there with you man. The virus. It's already started.

  • I have tried to watch this video several times but it always freezes up at the evolve fish.

  • Beautiful video, infinitely more uplifting than those silly religious inspiration vids.

  • What if u don't even wanna be an ism? lol I declare nothingism XP just kiddin' atheism all the way =D but really why categorize urself everyone's human right? ^.^ cool video by the way o__o;

  • May favourite saying...East coast west coasts, whats the difference it's the same land.

  • OO I like what ur saying avionic slap me five XD *holds out hand*

  • *in nerdy borat voice* High five

  • Nice job! Humanism a reality based philosophy.

    Thanks

  • Thank you for this great video.

  • It's real distrubing the insane ideas people get about wanting to think in a rational and reasonable manner. It's like people fear having to make difficult deccsions for themselves. Or maybe religion has just taught them to hate anything different.

  • The concepts of unity & plurality are categories. Without the concept of unifying things, predication would not be possible. The notion of concepts is a non-physical notion pertaining to physical things. Atheist denies non-physical things exist, yet it must use & presupposes the universal notion of concepts. Universal notion of concepts requires a non-physical universal in knowledge, thus a universal non-physical God.

  • So in other words, "we don't have any moral ceiling, we just do what we want, no matter what the effects on others may be." I really like the part at the end that says, "AHA, Values for Today." It should also add, "Values for Today, unless they hamper our quest for pleasure, then we'll change them again."

  • It's funny that you mention that video. I made a video response to it about a month ago that detailed exactly how incredibly incorrect it was. It's titled "Is Atheism Dangerous?"

  • your the clown that made that tissue of errors ! LOL

  • There are more secular govt in the world... ofcourse they have larger numbers... but arent the fanatics usually religious??? If you can get people to believe in absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities.

  • This comment is false, but I would expect such uneducated comments from a christian bias peanut gallery... you are obviously not well read and a mean individual... shouldnt you love thy neighbor? or does this stone law only concern people of similar beliefs?

  • Apparently you have never read the bible. As God has killed the most people of all time. Fucking jesus, how could you not know this? Who the hell are these "atheist" you speak of?

As a christian you must also support the killing of gays, blacks, and be a supporter of the wonderful Falwall campaign to show how all american soliders that have died are a bunch of fags. You're my hero.

  • HAHA fucking AMEN to that Bayer and kfher.

  • I should add, though it isn't a fact.. rather an EDUCATED GUESS.. that people who've slain 'in the name of God' are probably the top 10 killers or the top killers of all time for that matter.

  • You have the right ideas. The girl has a great smile too.

  • I thought the video was well done. I think all the bickering going on is a waste of time. Right, left, when will people realize that that is all just designed to keep us preoccupied while the "real right and left" laugh at us and remove our freedoms. Keep arguing. See if it gets you anywhere...

As for Humanism... I'll stick with Jesus. I've never known a human who hasn't screwed things up.

  • Another left wing wacko group that uses such nice, pleasent wording, music, etc. to promote quite the opposite.

  • Another Right wing wacko that thinks he knows it all. Flat tax has been studied Read the article in the Scientific American, statistically the flat tax places a higher tax burden on the midddle class and those in poverty. That is why the right wing wealthy are in support of it.

  • your 'art' is pretty pathetic. your deception blows. even a 12 year old can figure ramblings are just camel dung.

  • That's great, I should have known you were twelve with all the silly digressing into name calling. Enough said. To bad the right has fooled so many people. Go smoke a cuban with your friend Tom Delay...

  • cuban are good cigars. too bad you believe that the cuban gov't is superior to the USA. you're a turd burglar.

  • Life is but a series of experiances, be they good or bad, the more the experiances, the fuller the life! I don't know where this came from, but Ive been using it for decades, it might even be original.

  • well I'm a religious believer and I believe in the Humanist Vision. How bout that?!

  • Creepy people.

  • Which is more important? That we are absolutely right or that we cherish each other? NC

  • People surround themselves with immortality symbols because we have come to understand that we can't beat death on the physical plane... so transcend to the symbolic plane (religion, etc.).

However, the answer is to simply "picture yourself dying all alone in the woods knowing no one will ever bury your bones and remember you"... If you can get comfortable with that... then GOD just vanishes, period!

  • great way to put it

  • A very nice thought, but it all falls apart once some

idiot walks into your advanced math class and puts 3

    rounds in you.

  • So your thought prevents some idiot from walking into your advanced math class and putting 3 rounds in you? Or are you trying to say that the only way to cope with the current events is to have faith in the supernatural?

  • uhhh...what?

    /Geico Caveman

  • Indeed, what if you get shot while studying. What if a meteor hits earth, what if you are killed by terrorists, what if you live to be 87 and die peacefully in your sleep? Since these things can not be prevented by religion, and cannot be predicted otherwise, there is no need to fixate on them. Bad things happen, we all die, there is no ideology that can change that.

  • Faith in God won't save you. Ask the parents of them Amish girls.

  • Witty comment.

    Your right too.

  • beautiful video! being humanist how can we as a people kill other people with no remorse? can't happen. therfore we can't be humanist. and magically the bible was created so now we, with god's consent kill everything, People and our own enviornment.

  • Thank you,and well said!

  • This is a true angel (not in the religious sense)

  • Excellent presentation. All are born atheist and no one can dispute that!!!

  • great video!!

  • Thanks!

  • you only respect those with a humane thought, is that not discrimination? humanists are open to exploring different ways of thinking, different perspectives, etc, yet you all deny the way of thinking that Christians have. i'd say it's a double standard.

  • Did you just admit Christians are not humane?

  • it was a typo. i meant "human."

  • Perhaps the devil made you typo? lol

  • Wow, that was really good. Your video looks highly professional. :)

  • Thanks:)

  • Well done. To live by values determined by experience example and independent decision is not something to fear-just because a diety didn't tell us to do it...It's called personal dignity and responsibility...As I write, I realize those who do not see, will never see,so we walk on in hopes others will follow. No pressure, no fear, no fairytales.

  • Nowhining; Amen !!

  • Hey, no fair, you used a really good looking girl! Good video, though, I gave it 5 stars :)

  • Thanks:)

  • Thank You! Very nice film that grabs the essence of Humanism.

  • Thank you!

  • as much as i admire the positive outlook on life that humanism has, i still wonder how humanists - who are passionately in love with the earth and all its creations - deny any existence of God. i know that all of us, every single person who's live(d) past the age of 18 (many younger) have felt and known God's presence - even if that was just in a few minute's time. The universe is lazy, nothing moves until it's acted upon. think about the very first time it moved...

  • "every single person who's lived past the age of 18 have felt and known God's presence" With all due respect dlor99 that statement is a bit presumptuous don't you think? In my 49 years I have had no such feeling.

  • i disagree. a Creator who can create free willed individuals in a place as beautiful as earth would only do this to share it with us - not to abandon us. if you search for God in logic designed by man who is flawed, you'll never find him. you have to search with the heart and knowledge that God designed and gave you, not the mind that man designed and gave you.

  • Mystical, self-validating, self hypnosis. Religion is a byproduct - an artifact of 70,000 years of human development. Imagination, social instincts, communication, the intelligence to question events, developing in the absence of science and psychology will OF COURSE lead to magical joojoo figures.

  • When global communication and record keeping of these myths reaches a certain level, the evolution of the gods stops dead as it can't be changed any more (until you mistranslate it - or Ron Hubbard bets someone that he can create a religion).

  • you are right about religion being an artifact of..; But WHY would humans think that way since the beginning of time? OF ALL possible things to wonder, WHY WONDER ABOUT GOD as a natural behavior for so long?? that is where i disagree with you - we wonder about God because HE IS THERE. all the many religions are just the many interpretations of God. Then, there is Jesus. you want logic: If man is flawed, then his creations (science/psych) are also flawed.

  • Well I think of a primitive human that wakes up to find they guy next to him dead. How does he explain what's happened. Then the next night he dreams about him , say - floating in the air! Clearly he's still alive and has supernatural powers. In 24 hours he has created a mystical experience by mis-interpreting the natural functions of his mind.

Go tell someone about it - then embellish the story over the next 200,000 generations and you've got a tailor made, push all the buttons, god.

  • In my 56+ years, I've seen a lot. Whether there is a God or not, I don't know. What I know is there are too many wars fought in his name, past and present. There is too much suffering in this world, too much evil done by governments in the name of God (the US conducting much of this carnage). I subscribe to the Big Bang theory. I just don't believe in your version. Humanism makes a lot more sense than a book of fairy tales...just my humble opinion.

  • lots of evil, true. but killing in the name of God is specific to Islam (although Christians do kill other people, the bible does not tell them to, contrary to the Quaran). Evilness is done by all people (even humanists), and identifying yourself with a group that promotes goodness will not erase that fact. Also, God and His creatiosn were not meant to be fully explained in one book. the human language cannot even count the stars, how could it possibly fully explain God?

  • What do you think Bush is doing? Killing in the name of his NeoCon Gods. Beware those that kill while listening to the sound of trumpets.

  • "although Christians do kill other people, the bible does not tell them to" Well then maybe you could explain this little bit of genocide for us.

Samuel 15:3. "Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly

destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

  • How could it? It was written by humans for human consumption. Man created god(s) in his own image. A nine tentacled, chewing gum based entity would be so much less pallatable. I suggested that religion was an artifact from the evolution of the human mind and have since found this: tinyurl(dot)com(slash)24h34q

  • Seems you are seriously deranged if you think that the bible does not compel killing...all that smiting ring a bell??

  • Well, humanists can co-exist with anyone with a worldview that espouses the tenets found in this video.

The one area where we would not find common ground is on the issue of the issue of the existence of God(s)ess(es) existing in any sort of empirical sort of way (as we understand "existence").

So, the altruism of peace and caring, if truly exhibited by anyone with a common moral/ethical basis is common. Belief in invisible beings beyond space/time is right out.

  • Though I am a christian I am too concerned about feeding the homeless/hungry, social justice, the environment etc...I believe christianity and humanism can go hand in hand and coexist.

  • Is it possible to be christian and humanist at the same time?

  • It's possible but it wouldn't please God. It's like a Christian who has pre-maritual sex; he believes in God but he gave in to lust. if you know God, then God should be all you need to know. Everything on earth is only temporary and will some day go through a different form of matter - but i do believe we are special to God and he wants our presence with his even after our flesh-bodies deteriorate. Humanism teaches us to chase instant gratification before our bodies start to deteriorate.

  • The last sentence: I challenge you to find that on a popular Humanist web page. They don't teach that and speaking for myself instant gratification is not compatable with my happiness nor everyone else's and I'm a Humanist

  • "Humanism teaches us to chase instant gratification before our bodies start to deteriorate."

Where are you getting your info? That statement is really not true at all. Please tell me what humanistic book, website, video, ect that says,or even remotley practices or promotes that.

  • agree, it was not promoted. it was my understanding of humanism in my own words. humanism obviously denies God; thus, it views the self as some sort of godlike creature. And without an external god, we should be free to do whatever. i would argue that we act only when our actions benefit us also(Psychological egoism). giving a homeless $20 is gratifying for us because it makes us feel "good". Ultimately, life would consist of a string of moments such as this, hence my statement made.

  • dlor99: Humanism doesn't mean we see each other as Gods. In the absence of god we are Humans and that is all. Just because God may not exist doesn't mean we are God. We live this life to the fullest and let happen what happens when we die. Hopefully looking back happy with our choices and the effect we had on others.

  • Understandable. Thanks for clearing that up! Interesting viewpoint:)

  • you did a good job portraying a half-truth message.

we are all born a humanist - exploring the world with doubtful thoughts and skepticism while trying to make the best of today by chasing instant gratification. However, we are blessed when God shines his light on us and we realize that humanism is just the perception and reception of God's beautiful creations.

  • yea... twist it and bring god in everything. But can you tell me what God? because the Bible God do not fit even closer with this video. If you know some things about god. ..

Or you've just "created" a new god to fit with this...

Or you took the liberty to take out of the context what you like and fit with your actual morality?

  • religion is just a dictatorship. dont use the "lords" name in vane?! dictating. serve me or go to hell, no matter if ur a good person or not. dictating. controlling ppl with fear. we dont need religion.

  • we also don't need youtube...or DO WE? i think we need it more than religion, now.

  • That is very well done!

I thoroughly enjoyed how the visuals flowed with the philosophical statements. Thank you for all the effort and talent you poured into this production for us.

    Steve

  • Thank you for the compliments!

  • Great video. I enjoyed the visual scheme, very beautiful. 5 stars.

  • Thanks!

  • And most importantly . . . we have beautiful people in our videos! :)

No, seriously, I thought the sentiments/philosophy in the text was spot on, and inspiring, but the people in the images were too lovely, too breakfast cereal. I didn't feel like I would belong amongst them.

  • Thanks for the critique CarlaSimian. Whats a video about humanity without a good looking hottie(or 2)?haha:) On another note, thanks for your kind words, they are much appreciated!

  • Good job! I liked it.

  • Thank you!
