  • Why did we not play Miami that year?

  • Great matchup here

  • To be fair, I heard Kralik himself (who made the "catch") say it wasn't.

Regardless, I loved being at this game as a UW student back then; very loud and exciting.

  • the camera started to shake because of how loud it got

  • @balinn01 it does that at every husky game hehe :D

  • this game was bitter sweet. bitter because of the loss but, sweet in the sense that Tommie Frazier got the starting QB job. we went on to play for 3 national championships winning 2 of them with Tommie.

  • Haha no disrespect to the Huskies but the guy was down at 0:44

  • @TheWiteLite and theres no way in hell that "catch" in the end zone was a catch. are you kidding me? my gma could see that and shes blind.

  • friggin NCAA hypocrites screwed Don James. Imagine how much better the Huskies would have been over the years had James continued to be their coach.

He was one of the best, if not best college coach before the Hobert scandal.

Hobert should apologize to James if he hasn't already

  • @UpstairsClient

Yes, going back to Lincoln with a black eye.

  • nebraska is going down in san diego on the 30th. The dawgs wanna be there, the huskers dont

  • @thehuntman47 I think that has some truth to it.......we played in 5 National Championships since 94 so this probably isn't as big of a game to the players.....although it should be!

  • trust me...the huskies would still be this good, but oregon screwed em and the huskies havent recovered since.

  • @danBmonk- The Huskies got ncaa sanctions as a result of violations by coach rick neuhiesel following thier 2000 rose bowl run and a couple seasons after that. they lost scholarships and thier strong recruiting base in california. they are slowly returning back under sarkisian tho, watch out for them the next couple years they are starting to get the good recruits back ex. joe montana's son and WR Kasen WIlliams two names youll be hearing alot about in the coming years

  • One more thing though...I know Husky Stadium recorded 133 decibels, but Death Valley AKA Tiger Stadium...home of the LSU Tigers, them crazy Cajuns were sooo loud in a 1988 game, that they registered a small earthquake on the Richter Scale on campus! Now that's beyond ridiculous!

  • @DandBMonk honestly..it's not that tough for 90,000 fans...most of them probably fried food-fed and 275+ pounds to jump up and down and shake a seismograph. for all we know, a kid watching the game near the seismograph saw the game and started jumping...that would have the same effect.

not impressed with the "earthquake game".

  • @eKriZZle

Yeah, I'm not impressed with the Oregon football either. Yeah...we'll keep our fried food. It seems to work in SEC country. =)

  • @DandBMonk if your goal is to break the scale then of course it works. all you need to know is Oregon at #1. LSU won by 8 at UW last year...Oregon at one point was up 36 to 6. won 43-19. that doesn't matter though..next year Oregon will get to put the myth of SEC defense to rest for good.

  • @eKriZZLe

The SEC's just broke every challenge for the title the past 4 years. I wish y'all had to play just one season in the SEC...just one. The best athletes are down here...period. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LA, SC, TN, MS; that's where the athletes are. The NFL proves that, now granted Cali puts a few guys in, but the most successful are from the South...where we eat fried food, and still run circles around white collar fools. AU has no D, but good luck stoppin' Cam. "Last" year, exactly

  • @DandBMonk trust me...we wish the same thing. the SEC couldn't handle Oregon coming in there. the most successful players AREN'T from the south. there really isn't a "most successful" region. per team, the Pac 10 has put the most players in the NFL. would Oregon stop Cam? probably not. they'd hold them to less than any SEC team has or could. difference is? no SEC can could contain Oregon's offense.

  • @eKriZZLe

Dude...you seriously think that a one hit wonder Oregon team would last in the SEC, year after year? It's not hard to see that the best athletes are here...watch ESPN lately? College Gameday, ESPN U, Rivals.com, Scout.com...the best come from down here. That's why most televised high school football games are from down here. Florida, Alabama, MS, SC, etc. Texas and Ohio or NJ may be second.

  • @DandBMonk thats why everyone hates you. you don't realize Oregon's been good for 15 years. or anyone else. SEC football was trash at the beginning of the decade. in the last half, they got better. USC has the most 5* and 4* players in the nation by far. how did that work out for them? Oregon's last secondary? Chung, Thurmond and Byrd all 2*. TJ Ward unranked. now where are they? starting in the NFL and going to pro bowls. oh...and Cali and Texas has the most 5* athletes. nice try though.

  • @eKriZZLe

I wasn't talking about stars good sir...I should've guessed you didn't follow any athletes other than the ones that go to Oregon. The best football is in the southeast...Bama proved that the 5 stars don't mean anything against Texas last year. The proof's in the pudding dude...look at all the southern boys in the NFL, the best ones are from the south! Think about it by position...then go down the line. Oregon's been mediocre. Boise whipped y'all two years in a row for Christ's sake!

  • @DandBMonk you were talking about recruiting rankings, which is the same as stars. and no...i follow plenty outside of Oregon. the thing in question here is the fact that you don't follow anything out of the SEC. the best players AREN'T from the South. great ones? of course. there's great players from the Midwest, the Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, all over. fact is, the SEC is ranked as the 3rd best conference this year. who's first? yup...the Pac 10.

  • @eKriZZLe

Can't wait till bowl season, cause it happens every year...ppl talk, then the SEC talks on the field, then everyone else has to hear it..."SEC, SEC, SEC!!!" The best this year, huh? Wac 10 - 3 ranked teams...SEC - 7. SEC has 2 teams in the top 5, 4 in the top 15, WAC 10...2 in the top 10. SEC - 358 - 196 - 153 - 9 - .560. Pac-10 - 200 - 105 - 93 - 2 - .530...the all-time bowl game records for both conferences. See? We talk on the field. Oh, and the SEC has the most NC's as well. =)

  • @DandBMonk 0 NC's recognized by the NCAA. you know why? the BCS is a sham designed to make the most money possible. SEC teams are the most marketable...so they always get in. and do you really think those rankings are legit? they're laughable. here's a fact. every single team in the SEC is overrated right now except Auburn and LSU. you want to know why that is? the SEC has 14 voters from SEC states. the Pac 10? only 6 voters. seems the ratio of 3:7 ranked teams is the exact same as 6:14 voters..

  • @DandBMonk oh...and do you know why they're the most televised? because people in the South have nothing better to do on Friday nights than to go watch football.

why aren't recruiting experts coaches? because they're not recruiting experts. they're here because people like you would be dumb enough to pay for their insight.

  • @eKriZZLe

    BTW...wasn't Jake Locker hurt? =)

  • What happend to Washington? I've never really looked into Washington's program, but I heard that the '92 game against Nebraska holds the record for the loudest crowd recording of a whopping 133 decibels! That's crazyyy! Y'all must've had somethin' to cheer about! I know we Bama fans always have, but I'm just curious about what happend to Washington, because from this cilp...they had some serious speed and tenacity! Where'd they recruit? Why the terrible downfall? Any chance of resurrection?

  • :33 would get a guy suspended today, that catch would have been incomplete....the game has changed drastically and it sucks. Replay and a flag every 5 seconds.

  • you know what whether your a huskie or a husker or just a ( sore loser) like all huskers i guess it was a hell of a game good opponent yeah we husker fans can give respect when it's do we all aren't ( sore losers ) like some say always a husker at heart but always willin to give the respect to those who have EARNED IT!!! EH?

  • That was a heck of a Washington team. Scary good. Best of luck the rest of this year.

  • Repeat of this tomorrow!

  • @godawgs06 haha all u huskies beter not show up for that game tomorrow cause nebraska's hungry and we are gonna destroy u guys at home

  • Pure Gold!

  • This was an amazing game. Nebraska is a class act. Amazing to see Brunnell is still in the NFL...

    These were great teams.

  • its wierd to think the loudest moment in stadium history was in this stadium on this game at that year... man we need that passion back! go dawgs!

  • I know this is getting away from this game but I am wondering what would have happened if Don James had not quit just weeks before the beginning of the 1993 season. I know the sanctions sucked but they could have gotten through it. As much I respect and appreciate what he did at Washington I am still angry with him for leaving. Would the dawgs be rebuilding? I know Coach Stark is going to be great I just wonder what if. GO DAWGS!!!!!

  • @Tierhawg1 Coach James didn't leave just because the Dawgs were going to have some sanctions levied at them. He left because he felt betrayed by "Upper Campus" and felt that he wasn't getting the support from them that he deserved after serving as Husky head football coach for 18 years. It's very easy for people like you to point fingers at him and say "You shouldn't have left!" when you don't know the whole story.

  • @80svideoluvr people like me huh? And don't know the whole story? I only read about it when that day happened and even though people like James O' Fallon at Oregon said they were shocked that Coach James quit I'll bet he was dancing a jig because he knew that the Oregon Sucks would get there chance to rise. Before you go and tell me that I shouldn't point fingers maybe you should have read that I was wondering what if? People like me.....guess that means that we are not true Dawgs fans.

  • @Tierhawg1 Yeah, you don't know the whole story! You implied that Don James left the Huskies in the lurch because he was worried about a few sanctions. I told you what the REAL DEAL was. Accept it, or don't, but don't give me any malarkey about how you know what you're talking about when you obviously don't!

  • this years game should be good

  • I remember this night...and we got it handed to us...Washington had a heck of team back then...but it puts a smile on my face that people say Nebraska is nothing back then or now...but when we lose people go crazy...haha we are NEBRASKA!

  • i was 7 .....me and my family went to a house party for this game. fucking epic.

  • Good game, but the ref's gave 2 TD's to the Huskies with the BS fumble on the pass to the RB that was clearly DOWN when the ball came out. The second TD on the pass to the WR in the back of the end zone......BS. I'll say this though......watching the Husky RB (Kaufman?) was fun. Incredibly fast kid....!

  • Guess the huskies still would have won then.

  • GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!

  • God I miss these days. Go Dawgs!!

  • nice catch!!!

  • I was at this game and, as a Husker fan, had the most profound feeling of satisfaction and excitement following this game. As, late in the game, a freshman QB was put in for the failing starter. The new QB's name?

Tommy Frazier. He was a tremendous competitor and leader. And nearly took them to 3 National Title games the following three seasons. Winning 2 of them.

The incredible Nebraska Cornhuskers went 60-3 over a 5 year period. The greatest record of all time in d1 college.

  • Actually, the greatest college record belongs to Gil Dobie, who coached Washington from 1908-1916 and going 58-0-3 over that 9 year period with a 39 game winning streak (2nd longest behind Oklahoma's 47) to go along with it and Dobie was a huge part of Washington's 63 game unbeaten streak (end of 1907-1916) -- still the longest in college football history.

  • definitely not a TD catch at the end

  • I'm a Husky fan and I'll say we have 2 national titles and the 1960 one is pretty generous at that. We should have won one in 1984 though. 1985 was the year after so if your going to BS at least get the year right.

I have this game on DVD and for the nebraska fan hinting at the refs giving this to UW thats not the case. UW was simply the better team that night and that year. If Hobert doesn't take out the loan your probably talking national champs in 1992 as well.

  • @kdog2980 I'm a Husker fan, and I will admit, those UW teams in that era were studly.

    Good luck this year.

  • @kdog2980 Nebraska fans are a bunch of sore losers. It's just their nature. Everytime they get beat it's always a big conspiracy on the part of the refs. Go to any of their message boards after a loss and you'll see what I mean. Once you've been around them enough you just learn to accept this as fact. One of many reasons that no one in the Big 12 will miss Nebraska fans when they move to the Big 10. That's the NCAA's trashiest fans for you.

  • @kdog2980 Washington has had some great teams but BYU was for real in 1984. BYU, like TCU and Boise State don't get the respect they deserve.

  • The Huskies have three national titles in football..1960, 1990,1991. The 1990 is a joke because the Ap and Coaches poll were split between Colorado and Georgia Tech. Washington had the number1 vote in the Rothman Poll. Yeah nobody cares about that poll. 1985 BYU has the title while the Huskies finished #2. Oh but they were voted #1 in B(QPRS), FN, NCS polls. Those polls are not even acknowledged. So Huskies fans, Say it with me 3 time national champs.

  • Couple of comments..that was mike grants 2 or 3rd game as a starter...he was a great QB on the freshman team. Then while on varisity-turned it over 1000 times... he didn't start again...too bad for him, nice guy.

There were 2 very controversial plays in that game, both resulting in TDs...

    1. The pass/fumble/lateral- returned for a TD out of the backfield -was not an incomplete pass

    2. The TD in the back of the endzone was not a catch - not close

  • washington is 4 time say it with me 4 time national champions

  • 4 time national champions in what? womens volleyball.

  • No. Football!

  • was that in the stoneage?

  • The four titles came in 1960,85,90,91. not the stoneage!

  • they only have 2....are you stupid?

  • Somebody needs to explain to me how that is a touchdown at 1:25 in this video. The receiver is not in bounds and didn't even catch the pass?

  • Oh the memories ...back when UW had athletes on both sides of the ball, two NFL QB on the same team (Brunell and Hobart) and a nasty "punch you in the mouth" defense.

  • Ah the good 'ol days. I miss when the Huskies would wipe their ass with everyone who played them.

All you youngsters out there don't be fooled by the way the Huskies play this year. They used to be way better than USC.

  • Nebraska fucking sucks

  • oh and you have room to talk, because washington is really tearing it up this year. their record is--oh, wait-- 0-7. and a 33-7 loss to a not so eyepopping notre dame team to top it off. woopsies.

  • nebraska is 5 time say it with me 5 time national champions

  • notre dame is 11 time say it with me 11 time national champions

  • yeah, with about 7 or 8 of them in the 40's and 50's, which hardly counts. plus, how about coach weis and his loss to syracuse? with one of the top recruiting classes every single year (sometimes #1), youd think ND would be able to put out a little better team than that.

  • yeah. oh, what a sec-- NU beat baylor 32-20. baylor beat WSU 45-17. WSU beat UW 16-13. NU is 7-4 and bowl bound (likely to the gator bowl if we beat CU) and UW is, um, 0-11. woopsies!

  • I heard the noise level was like 130-135 in that game. I go to UO and I miss the old rivalry days, when beating Washington was a huge deal and every meeting at Husy Stadium or Autzen was like 130 noise level!

  • THATS husky football, pure dominance on the defensive side and getting the job done on offense. fuckin tired of this mediocre shit

  • Huskies fans, I need your help to get this message to the athletic director.LETS GO GET LANE KIFFIN FOR HEAD COACH

  • I'd rather get someone who has been at UW before, like Scott Linehan.

  • how many videos have you posted that same comment on? I see it on almost every husky video

  • man I try to to put it on every husky video I see.I really miss them days man.

  • we miss the 90's to man. nebraska and washington both were dominant in the 90's (washington more in the early 90's, nebraska more in the late 90's.)

  • Watch at 1:25....not only did the receiver land out-of-bounds, he also lost the football. I remember this play...I think SI even had a photo of this that week. It was a terrible call.....it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game. Huskies were dominant in 1991 and 1992. Thanks for posting.

  • the 1991 dawgs were in the top 10 best teams ever on espn. if you look at their stats for offense and defense and their strength of schedule they should have been alot higher on that list. they sent 11 players from that team to the pros. don james had respect too if the dawgs had a coach like miami they would have pounded teams a whole lot worse than what they did.

  • Only Alabama fans think Crimson Tide football is worth talking about

  • ALABAMA 13-0 1992 national champions!!! Roll Tide 4-0 vs Washington!!!

  • Bryant is dead, Alabama is a punchline. LSU, Florida and Georgia own the SEC.

  • look like your memory is dead because gene stallings was the head coach that year (1992) and he is still alive, dumb ass! saban will turn bama around.

  • Huskies Are the best 07 Huskies Vs COugars was a Fluke

  • go

    H

    U

    S

    K

    I

    E

    S

  • Autzen maybe loud now, but that day the fans reached 135 decibels. Lets see you reach that noise level Duck fans.

  • This is our year.

  • at a 1:25 i can't believe that they ruled that a TD. That ball cleary came out when he rolled out of bounds. Did he have possesion...who knows we need a better angle. GO HUSKERS

  • At least they didn't have to deal with that pesky Scott Frost in this game! :D Go Huskies!!!

  • GO HUSKIES!

  • Where is Nebraska now? Oh yeah...there about as good as the Huskies.

  • yeah stifflerdude then what happened in 2001 with ur shitty ass cornfucker team

  • Um, we got to a National Championship game . . . . Huskies? Oh ya . . . lol.

  • chat2tricia you are an idiot at least our team made it to the national championship that year. miami woulda beat anybody they played that year (and they would have trucked washington). you really otta shut your big mouth, over all nebraska has had ten times as good of football as washington. oh and you can cuss at us, your really cool. every team has their bad years and bad games, but washington has had a crapload more bad years than nebraska so i wouldnt be runnin your mouth if i were you.

  • they did truck washington...65-7 that year...then they scored 34 points in less than a quarter span on nebraska.

  • and what about 1997? #7nebraska 27, #2washington 14. and '98? #2nebraska 55, #9 washington 7. another thing: nebraska has been to 8 national championships, winning 5 of them (17-12,

38-6, 24-17, 62-24, 42-17)against lsu, alabama, miami, florida, and tennessee and losing 2 of them by a total of 3 points (16-18 in 1993 and 30-31 in 1983) to florida state and miami. washington? 2 national championships. conference titles? nebraska: 46washington: 15. heisman winners? NU: 3. WU 0. enough said.

  • WU? At least get the abbreviation correct, it is UW. Anyway, we can settle this in 2010 when NU comes to Seattle.

  • well sorry about the abbreviation but i dont see why it matters much if you know what i am talking about. even if washington wins, they still wont match up to nebraska's tradition. then again, not many teams can. michigan, notre dame, texas, ohio st, alabama, penn st, tennessee, oklahoma, and USC are pretty much the only teams that do (these are the top 9 teams (in order) with the most all time wins other than nebraska, who is fourth in all time wins between texas and ohio state.)

  • what about Miami. Maybe not in all time wins, but 5 national championships in 25 years...two against the huskers...in fact we pretty much own the cornfed. you're right about everything else though.

  • yeah, that does make sense. miami used to be very good, theyve kinda fell into mediocrity for the time being, but theyll eventually get back up there. i think the huskers are on the verge with bo pelini back in town. but yes, NU should have beaten miami in '83 but miami killed NU in '01. miami is right up there with the best of em.

  • nebraska won 3 of there national championships in 5 years u idiot

  • Yup, at our worst . . . We're as good as the huskies.

  • Kansas routed Nebraska this year and the knock on Kansas at the end of the season was they didn't beat anybody. Ouch! Hard times for both teams right now, but I like the Huskies '08 recruiting class.

  • I'm not gonna argue, our defense sucked. This was our worst year since the 60's. We'll be back on our feet.

  • Nice tackle by the tight end on the linebacker, on that run by Kaufmann.

Nice catch on that TD pass... not only wasn't he in bounds, he never even caught the ball, it bounced off him, when he came down the ball was sitting next to him. (I remember watching that game live and screaming on that)

  • FYI.. Gordon Reece was the head official that day, the very same Gordon Reece that headed the crew that screwed OU on the on side kick play agasint oregon a couple seasons ago. Kind of screwed the Huskers more than once that day.

  • Washington probably the better team that day but those TD passes were clearly out of the endzone. One of the most bizarre plays I ever saw was Mike grant fumble. he backs away from center, whistle blows, he sets the ball down, referee throws bean bag for fumble. odd

  • Havent heard from the Huskies since. Gonna be how we the Huskers go down to.

  • The Pac-10 took care of the Husky dominance. Don James looked to be on the way to creating a dynasty and the Pac-10 will not tolerate anybody but USC do that. The trumped up week reasons to take away scholarships based on "a lack of institutional control" and James quit out of disgust. The Huskies declined, gradually at first, without Don James.

  • you GOTTA love them dawgs!

  • Dam I miss the old Huskies!!! I grew up in Texas and Washington for my teen years. I sure miss Kaufman!! Go Huskies and Horns!!!!!

  • Mike Grant should have lunch with Joe Daily and share tips. He was brutal. Nice Video.

  • Autzen Stadium is horrible, not mention its fans as well, but I think it's awesome that an LSU grad has postive things to say about the PAC 10, especially since its coach heartily disagrees, thanks Larry! GO HUSKIES

  • I miss the god old days of physical, winning Husky football; and I'm an LSU grad!

  • I want to see the 97 and 98 games vs Nebraska, somebody post those please

  • Who cares about the track around Husky Stadium? Husky Stadium is still the best! Hate to say it, but they ruined The Autzen Zoo. Look at how they renovated it! It was better in '92 when I was there for the Husky game!!!!!

  • There's no college football stadium like Husky Stadium!!!!!! The Autzen zoo has nothing on it!

  • are you kidding me husky stadium is a joke with the track around it. the autzen zoo is consistently ranked well above it!!!

  • Autzen Stadium BLOWS ASS!!

  • i think you have autzen stadium and husky football confused :)

  • Great game. I was there.

  • So was I, with my dad. Remember the '91 game in Lincoln? What an amazing comeback by the 'Dawgs!

  • That would have been an incredible game to be at. I remember watching it on TV midway through the third quarter thinking we were cooked, then we just dominated the rest of the game. Nebraska fans showed a lot of class by giving the Dawgs a standing ovation at the end of the game.

  • Loudest football game ever reaching 135 decibels, well above the threshold of pain. Besides maybe Autzen no stadium is louder than Husky stadium.

  • Live for the Day of Crimson and Grey!

  • if it wasn't for Hobert the huskies probably would have won a second straight national championship that year

  • Damm the 1992 team was great until the scandal. But the 1991 team is one of the most underrated teams in college football history. Not a weakness at all on defenese, offense or special teams.

  • but who can win now?? go huskers!!!

  • Yes, we're closer than many think. I expect us to make a bowl game this year, and by the end of the decade be Rose Bowl worthy. Get used to the name Jake Locker. He's our new quarterback, who will be a heisman candidate before it's all said and done.

  • Jakes's good and all, but Brady and Casey will be the ones to look at in a few years... It's really cool though, I played pee wee with Casey, who basicly carried our team to a un-scored on season, remember his name

  • Love these Vids. even though we lost the game. UW had some real nice teams in the early 90's, are the Huskies anywhere close to being back to the days of old?

  • Yeah, great job secan. Loved the Whammy video as well. Can't wait for some more! Go Dawgs!

  • Why did I have to go to UW from 2002-2006, the worst years in Husky football? I can't wait until our program is contending again.

  • thanks for posting these vids!

  • Keep 'em coming! Go Dawgs!!
