This is great! Theramins are hard to play, and like another one said, it adds very much drama sound and it sounds awesome. You can notice, there's not so many musicians who are listening to this video. Five stars!

It all depends on composition. It's impossible to say that any instrument is inherently good than another, because it really ALL depends on composition. In this case, the theramin brought drama to the song none of the guitars could have.

but, to answer your question, one of those guitars is a bass guitar. Then, you have seperate lead and rythm guitars. Some bands have one guy that just does slides with a glass or metal slide. They usually have the guitar laying on a table, though.

I'm guessing that since they are just covering this song, one of the guitars is redundant, but their normal material probably has songs arranged for all of them to do different things.
