Funny thing is, we see all sorts of violence in movies and tv shows... But violence being portrayed in a video game is "fucked up" or "wow, thats going too far" as some people I know have stated, and many have deemed "unacceptable"?

Which brings me to ask, what's the difference here? Ohh because we're the ones controlling the character? There is an option to turn it off, and for me personally, Infinity Ward did it to get across just how dangerous Makarov is.

This takes balls to put in a game because, hell, think of all the people that were offended. Well, I am Russian. An Americanized Russian but still. It was just the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack. First of all, this attack in the game never happened, it is just a great explanation of why America and Russia had such a tense relationship between the 60s and the 80s. I find this is no way offensive, but somewhat of bad taste. REGARDLESS its just a game and I'm sure the story writers didn't mean to offend anybody. What if it was the same thing but with an airport in America?

This mission is another example of artistic license trampling on real life policies. CIA operatives under cover, like all undercover operatives, have a certain line they cannot pass for the sake of staying undercover. If the game followed the policy, your objective would have changed at 0:35 to 'shoot Makarov and his associates'
