Prova ad usare palla a punta da 480 gr, quelle che si possono fondere con il blocchetto Lyman, sicuramente la rosata sarà più concentrata. Anche all'epoca si erano accorti che la 45/70/500 andava meglio della 45/70/405, tanto è che appunto cambiarono il peso della palla da 405 a 500. Soltanto per la carabina d'ordinanza, la cartuccia restò 45/55/405
@dardano50 Mah, ti ringrazio del consiglio ma per la seconda volta che lo usavo non mi lamento per il risultato, è tutto da migliorare e comunque è un tipo di tiro molto complicato e poco economico, entrano in gioco molti fattori, polvere, palla, regolazione diottra, io mi accontento non cerco la mouche a tutti i costi.

First time out,with a few adjustments on the vernier sight I was shooting 4'' groups @ 100 yds.I too keep a jug of soapy water to drop spent shells in.
@capandball if you look carefully the video, to my right is a bottle containing soapy water to submerge the cartridges loaded with black powder to prevent it corrode.
I have not used black powder in my loads. I like Varget or IMR 3031 and a 405gr metal patched bullet. Pedosoli seems to like 300gr metal patched factory loads 1880 fps with groups at 3 inches or so. I noticed you are a southpaw. Learn to shoot right handed and your groups might improve. LOL!

Also use blow tube between shots.

For my cartridges i use 55 grains black powder fff for rifle and CCI Large Rifle Magnum primers
and ball 405 grains !

@capandball Tanks capandball, for my cartridge use 55 grains blackpowder "fff ", triggering large magnum rifle, 405 grain ball drawing 458, target distance 100 meters (109 yards?)
