  • Their new stuff just isn't inspired like this! I mean, it's fun pop music I guess, but it just doesn't have this heavy pop-rock... ish.... weezer charm!

  • "here you live".. its his last memory of them .. not how they died.. the school bus was just how he knows them

  • @unclepot....hes saying "here you me"not "here you live"

  • "till the school bus came, and took my friends away" i cant take it, that line kills me every time, so sad

  • @uke52 same :/

  • Even though this song was written while they were alive I feel it has a sad tone to it, and the way he wrote the lyrics is eerie cuz they're very fitting for an after death tribute song.

  • @Redsoxxplayer I know what you mean. I thought they did write it after they died when i first heard it. Especially the bit where he sings "Then the school bus came and took my friends away" it does sound like more of a tribute song.

  • *saw them live recently

  • Oh goodness I saw them live and they were awesome. I'm now in love with River. He's seriously the most adorable, awkward man ever. I want I want.

They played 90% of the Blue Album and about 50% of Pinkerton. At one point River said a shout out to their old school fans and announced they were going to play a B-SIDE and I was freaking out because I thought they might play Mykel & Carli...they played Suzanne instead which was stll so awesome. Ugh I can't wait to see them live again, it was great!

  • @stop08it His name is Rivers. *facepalm*

  • @Smoshfans112 Yeah I made a mistake. Is he going to smite me? Or are you going to do it on his behalf...calm down duder...

  • HAPPY 41st B-DAY RIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its such a beatiful song!

  • @ericliddle90 they suck bawz eric face it haha.

  • Just fucking amazing

Long live Weezer, one of THE most under-rated yet greatest bands ever

  • Lovin' the snare

  • Just read some stuff on Mykel and Carli. They seemed like really cool people. RIP

I can't listen to this song the same now I know the story.

  • When he says 'till school bus came, and took my friends away' does he refer to a school bus that their car crashed into?

  • @Gamer606 I don't think so, i think this was written before they died. the song hear you me by Jimmy eat world is also dedicated to Mykel and Carli.

  • @Gamer606 I'm not 100% sure but I think it was just meant to sound like they knew eachother for a long time, like when they were back in school, even though they didn't. I think I read somewhere that the interviewed them and got some info to write the song as if they'd been friends for years.

  • @Gamer606 No. This song was written when Mykel and Carli were still alive, and before Weezer had recorded the Blue album. They didn't crash into a school bus either. They simply went off the road.

  • @OpIvyBlackOps No. It wasn't. This is a Blue album B-side. They died on the Pinkerton tour. This song was written in 1993. Do your fucking research. Go to Weezerpedia and search for this song.

  • @zppbonzo research eh, you know that article has holes in it like the tragedy of hitting icy roads in Colorado does not make much sense to me in the middle of JULY! There is probably more to the death than what someone posts.

  • @whatsyourtwenty You've never been on a Colorado mountain before, have you. It can get icy in July. I've seen it. Also, the article suggests the driver might have fallen asleep. Finally, the comment that I was responding to was removed. They said the song was written after they died. That's why I said do research.

  • @zppbonzo What are you talking about I was a truck driver for 9 years and I have seen snow in the summer in higher elevations. Where they crashed, if you did any research was no where near the mountains. You might be nuts. The area I read was near Riffle and that area is not mountainous, it is a bit windy and that makes more sense if the driver was distracted or fell asleep at the wheel.

  • @whatsyourtwenty To quote Karl Koch: "The driver fell asleep at the wheel, or that the Colorado mountains' icy or treacherous roads played a part, or possibly both."

  • @zppbonzo I am not buying the icy roads...

  • This song was released in 1994; three years before the car accident.

The girls hosted many up and coming bands in their home, and the song "Hear you Me" by Jimmy Eat World is a tribute to them after their passing.

  • this song is a tribute to two close best friends which they lost.. It was really sad I remember hearing about this.. =[

  • R.I.P. Mykel & Carli :(

i dont know you , but i miss you

  • This song is better than anything off of Hurley, Make Believe and all the other shit. Better than Red Album. Pretty much better than sex.

  • their new albums lack this california new punk sound

  • This is really one of WEEZER's many bests! Loving it totally...

  • Best weezer song ever,.. imo

  • This restores my faith after suffering through "Get me Some" or "The Girl Got Hot".

  • @drewster608 those songs are good!!!!

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this song

    RIP MYKEL AND CARLI!

  • wtf... this song is amazing. can't believe it took me this long to track it down

  • I Love this song (':

  • OMG SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY SPELT MY NAME RIGHT!!! :O

  • OMG!!!! This song is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!!!! My friend recommended this song to me, and I love Weezer that much more!!!!!

  • <3 this song.

  • We all gotta go someday, hopefully out memories are sealed forever in the hearts of our friends like Mykel and Carli...

  • i heard that this song is about 3 die hard weezer fans named mikel and cari and another person, that died in a car crash while coming home from a weezer concert...i find that very sad.

  • @Velocityraptor1000

yeah they were really close friends of Weezer and they helped them out with all of their tours and fans.

Weezer considered them their #1 fans

I was so sad when I read about them on Weezerpedia :(

  • @Velocityraptor1000 Actually, they died after the song came out.

  • I miss the Blue Album and Pinkerton :(

  • @KoolThing14 WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! the blue album is definitely one of my desert island discs.

  • @cooldogface Holy crap I'm in love nao, once again, I've found proof that not EVERYBODY on the internet is a moron!!! :D

  • Love this song like Ricky loves Lucy

  • yes, crying is acceptable. the melody is just entrancing and emotion provoking.

  • i just love the start of the solo when the rythm guitar breaks, just to punch in again to an awesome solo melody...this´ll still kick ass in a hundred years !

  • I REMEMBER THIS SOGN ASOGIAWHRLOKAHJRAEWHR

WOOT! this song is the beans!

  • click the other video of this song live in 97 at the benefit show. Great performance but very sad.

  • i hate when people compare the best of the past with the current things of today... Weezer is an awesome band and they will continue to make good music but to all the people who trash their newer stuff..STFU when you compare the best of the past with the average of the present of course it wont measure up.

    there im done

  • their new stuff is trash.

  • @vridore

    FUCKING AMEN

  • @vridore Thank you.

  • It's so stupid that they make this a B-side, throw away Songs From The Black Hole, and throw away The Album 5 Demos. Then they go and release Raditude and play with Lil Wayne to sing about partying. This song, next to Queen of Earth, is by far the best song Weezer ever recorded.

  • WIN

  • Hope they come out with Pinkerton Deluxe. :D

  • @HeWhoisHigh It's already on the Blue album deluxe i belive.

  • @mazerfaka Yep,

  • @HeWhoisHigh they are workin on it!

  • @HeWhoisHigh its being released this tuesday!! :) 4 discs! or 3 depending which 1 you get

  • @HeWhoisHigh YOUR WISH JUST FUCKING CAME TRRUE!

  • @HeWhoisHigh your wish has been granted.

  • wow this is amazing. this shouldnt be a b-side!

  • That's not really fair, to say their new work sucks just because this is a masterpiece...

  • HazelCarter287 -

    You are completely right.

  • R.I.P Mykel and Carli :(

  • @MasterBlade4 I dont know what this song is about. Could you or someone tell me?

  • @MasterBlade4 Never mind :(

  • You know, it's sad how the B-sides to Weezer's earlier albums are leaps and bounds ahead of their newest single. Just sad.

  • As much as it pains me to say it, you're completely right.

  • @HazelCarter287

    yea i know :P

  • @HazelCarter287 I agree, IE: Susanne

  • @HazelCarter287 A sad Weezer fan here saying this is 1000% true

  • Thanks for putting this up.

    Couldn't agree more with kgkidz4life :)

  • Truly one of the greatest songs ever made. Honestly, just an amazing piece of art. It is as true of a Weezer song as any, yet it is really one of their most powerful and emotional songs the band has ever played.

  • your definately right dude this is just amazing
