  • Do I think that Veidt did the right thing? Yes and no. He killed millions to save billions but I don't think that anything justifies murder. While his plan eventually obtained a temporary world peace, like Jon said, "Nothing Ever Ends."

  • If any of you believe that Veidt was evil than you are morally challenged. It's called a sacrifice. Millions died to save BILLIONS. It doesn't get any simpler than that. If I had to kill one person to save 10 other people, I would do it. If I didnt kill that person than 10 people would die. In what planet or Universe does 1 persons life mean more than 10 people? lol wow. Veidt was a hero. He was man enough to make the call and the only hero that had the balls to go through with it. RESPECT

  • @willsmackyoudown Yeah, you do have a point. But that's the awesome thing about Watchmen. Is Veidt evil? No. Is he good? Fuck no. So what if he obtained temporary world peace he also killed millions of people and backstabbed others in order to get his truth. Not only does he suffer from a superiority complex, he ignores the fact that the Comedian was right, even in the end, and that his worldview will never last.

  • pyramid industries, moore's novel is genius

  • Why didn't Ozy explain his entire pan to Dr. M and have him threat the US and the USSR to do what Ozy eventually did? If Dr. M agreed with Ozy in the end on what he did, he would've agreed to play the badguy and threaten both the US and USSR with destruction. Not to make them stop their war, but his motive could've been that he simply hated humans and wanted them dead. That way, they would also have a common enemy and nobody would have to be killed in the process. Just a thought...

  • @XaeeD Who would believe Manhattan if he kills no one.

  • @yesledman2 But he did kill many, he ended the war in Vietnam remember. So they all knew what he was capable of..

  • but ozys plan works. his plan was to use fear to bring the world together and he did it by making it look like dr manhattan made the explosion

  • Its kinda hard to decide if what ozy did was the right things

like when atom bomb dropped on hiroshima, it killed millions of INNOCENT

people, but if war continued, more wouldve died.

not are place to decide i guess

    but ya gotta luv ozy

  • in the comic and movie they're drawing a comparison to Hiroshima and how people then thought some loss of life was necessary to prevent larger blood shed, ie half of New York had to be killed to save the world

  • i think that he did the right thing. when the oil runs out we will be in trouble. as Einstein said he doesn't know what world war three will be fought with but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones. To me the world is to interested in mindless trivialities like Britney Spears haircut, which is why democracies don't work. you just need a brilliant leader like Ozymandias to do things that other people are too stupid to contemplate.

  • Me encanta

  • the death of a person is a tragedy....the death of millions are only stadisthics......

  • "nuclear war happens anyways" ....when has that happened?

  • If sacrificing that many ppl was going to stop some external force in the universe from destroying the planet......I'd give Ozy the nod. But his whole plan is based on forcing humans to "do the right thing" and not go to war. That's not something you can trust.....humans are too destructive and erratic. There's no gaurantee implied that mankind will stay on the straight and narrow path afterwards. I'd always be waiting for the other shoe to drop.

  • Hes right

  • lol, he is gorgeousss

  • ozymandias is too evil in the film, in the graphic novel he comes across as a man who tries to inspire peace at any cost, in the film he comes across as a full blown villan with a cliche german accent

  • He's the guy who brought world peace in the end of the movie.

    The end justifies the means.

    He's not evil.

  • Absolutely

  • The ends don't justify the means. He's definitely evil. He's evil because to him, human life was expendable. That's really what makes him such a great character -- no one can agree on whether or not he's evil. Alan Moore is a genius!

  • Rather then having the world go all out on a nuclear war, which would have made the destruction of by Oz look like a fire cracker, i'm pretty sure he saved the world a whole lot of trouble....

    Not to mention the radiation....

  • Let's see if you have the same reaction if you found out it was YOUR city that he was going to level. Ozy did what he did because he divorced himself from the rest of society. No one who's truly in touch with their humanity could kill millions of innocent ppl.

  • how the hell is he evil? he saves the planet dog

  • well that is entirely opinion based, the graphic novel makes you question whether or not he was right but the film decides your opinion for you with his cliche european accent, black suit and his intimidating personality, and the dr manhattan ending doesnt make sense either, how do the leaders of the world think they can fight manhattan, hes practically omnipitent. they should be pleading for mercy on their knees

  • well i doubt they honestly think they can defeat him, but if they unite against him then it's Manhattan v. world, which is different then say manhattan v. soviets because it's not like manhattan is going to destroy the earth's population...also the US doesn't necessaily want to go to war so they can't really negotiate very well with the soviets, so when manhattan "turns" on everyone it gives them enough reason to convince the soviets to put nuclear war behind them and turn there attention to jon

  • By killing 15 million ppl. I don't know if I call that saving anything. What if it took 100 million? Or how about 1 billion? Is there a bodycount high enough that you ppl WOULDN'T be praising him for? And what happens a couple years down the line when this "evil threat" Ozy created is no where to be seen and the US and USSR go at it again? 15 million ppl dead.......for nothing. And nuclear war happens anyways.

  • @razorfett147 Thank You!!!!

  • Ozymandias was the most interesting character. The third part of the movie was the most interesting part. Ozy kicked the other heroes a**es. The action was awesome! I was surprised 'tho at what Dr. Manhattan did.

  • I agree, Ozy was my favorite... no wonder he's so powerful, physically but also financially. He's extremely intelligent and I thought the chosen actor did an awesome job. :-D

  • he was an okay actor for the job, but he looked like a scrawny pipsqueak compared to the actual ozymandias. I thought michael c hall from dexter would've made an EXCELLENT ozy, granted he shaved and bleached his hair.

  • "Hitler said people swallow lies easily, provided they're big enough. The world will believe. The world will survive."

  • hi is cool but i like rorschach the moste

  • Yea Rorscach is badass

  • same Rorscach was the most interesting character

  • That wins the award for "Most lines of dialogue spliced together into a single sentence"
