  • what guitar do you have Filomena?love the interpretation

  • Yet again I fall in love. She is simply wonderful.

  • Przecudowny utwór, ale czegoś brak. Wonderful music, anything is dead. Mayby she hasn't power. But it is fantastic

  • I dont like your version... Where is the poetry?

  • If you could upload the video again that would be great, it cuts out for a few seconds at about 2:56. This gal is realllly good!

  • Very nice interpretation! It's great to watch how much she enjoys her playing. Beautiful lady and really great sounds from the guitar. I like how she works different tones down at bottom of strings and over the soundhole. Very good, I enjoyed it!

  • very good song. look my videos

  • Emotions and feelings are best expressed in sound and she does it with such ineffable beauty.

  • sensibilità e straordinaria musicalità

  • I think while Moretti is more caliente, Vidovic is aggressive, especially playing chords at begin of each misure

  • fantastic!!!!

  • great well played nice cool

  • Nice performance but Asturias played by Kuropaczewski is the best

    brava! clap clap clap clap

    ciao Riccardo

  • lacks technique?!

she is gifted and i agree, she brings new life to this piece. there is more to interpretation than velocity

  • Wow Wow Wow sei stupenda I just love your interpretation of this beautiful piece you have brought it back to life as the original composer would have wanted it. There are alot of versions out there but none so beautifully emotionally and passionaltly played.

  • grande!

  • beautiful/ complete/ amaizing

  • bravo

  • bellissimo

  • great musicien no doubt, personally i prefer the deeper tunes by sagovia but sytill bravoo wish i could play that well

Juste magnifique.

  • große klasse!

  • Brittle, sharp tone? True! Is it the nails or the strings or general acoustics? Who cares? This is music as it should be, played with passion and outstanding artistry. just look at her expression and you know she's in the music. Every live performance is something unique. Sit back and enjoy!

  • in fact, I didn't like the way where she kept some parts especially slow, it gave me the impression that she lacks the speed and the techniques to play the song well since this affects the rhythm significiantly.

  • I like the angle that she sit with the guitar.

Too bad about the brittle nail sound sometimes.

  • Filomena is a great guitar player don't get me wrong she plays perfectly here but tone of that guitar is just too thin and sharp I prefer Segovina's or Ana's version just becouse of tone. She's still great guitar player though :)

  • Why is it women always play this piece too damn fast?

  • @trebange i have always noticed women interpret a piece much differently than a man does, often with surprising intensity.

  • Really nice playing, I like the dynamic interpretation. Thanks!

  • Really nice playing, I like the dynamic interpretation. Thanks!

  • Very Beautiful.. quem sabe algum dia msm...rsrs

  • quem sabe, algum dia ,eu consigo (tentar)

  • quem sabe, um dia,eu chego lá!

  • At last a guitarist that plays the guitar not with talented fingers but with her full heart! Brava, Filomena!!

  • What a woman!!!

  • so LOVELY FILOMENA....IS TOO SWEET !!!

    Thanks.

  • I love her.

  • I feel her attack is too strong but it may just be the microphone placement.. Great performance none the less.

  • I would like to have a huge opportunity to thank ms. Moretti for every part of her consideration in play for us, for every time she rehearsed thinking in presenting her best, every tear she shed reaching the chords of her soul, with the intention to do something to make a better world.

Believing that it is everyone's responsibility, she is doing a great job.

My tribute to her will be in another time, when opportunity meets love in an axis where Ms. Moretti is present.

    Thank you.

  • Bravo Bravo Bravo ...

    Maravilhoso

  • Flaming here speed is ridiculous, she plays on mezzo you dont.

  • i do not deslike it,...certantley i can't do better , lol but i've heard better versions of this song, she's playing very slowly...it's missing something.... but 'course she plays very well,...i wish i could play this song like her at least :) seems like she is married with her guitar,...i like the way she's smiling, she really like what she's doing...she has a great positive presence!!!

  • no one can play this better than Segovia does. But it's fantastic to see how much she feels the music, she just put emotion in it. It can be seen clearly in her face expressions and listened in lots of passages. very nice indeed.

  • crazy how she can bend her right thumb like that. really good playing by the way.

  • Wow!

When the beauty of the composition meets

the beauty of a perfect technique and meets

the beauty of the musical interpretation and meets

the beauty of an unique lady

then you listen to Signora Moretti.

  • @altemusik

if I may finish ur awesome reply.......

then you listen to Signora Moretti making love

  • @altemusik

lol im sorry to dissapoint you but perfect technique certainly not.

  • beauty and talentous...

    My God...

    perfect...

    congrats mi ladie...

    XD...

  • wow so fast O.O!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing, very much appreciated!

  • I think this, as well as the Segovia interpretation are closest to what Albeinz had in mind when he wrote it.

  • Pepe Romero version is way better.

  • This version made the Big List, first worldwide list of 200+ best music from the internet. The world's a big jukebox, and this is its first contents.

  • Best interpretation I've seen yet-and best playing, period. Thank you, Senora Moretti.

Almeno a noi mediterranei lascino alme queLa Gracia e Roma sono eterne, Montreal o Canberra no !

  • Prefer the john wiliams interpretation...

  • Buona esecuzione con ottima musicalità. Cosa pensate dell'esecuzione di Sergio GUIDO? Un saluto.

  • Too fast, there are some "accidental" notes! But it's only my opinion, no ofense. I like Williams version better.

  • Untill I saw this video I tought John Williams had the best interpretation of the piece but not anymore. She feels the melody as she plays it, almost as if she is singing it rather than playing with the help of an instrument.... beautiful.

  • i still prefer john williams' version, but her interpretation, her timing and accentuation, is very interesting. bravo!

  • She is playing with fire; Because she has fire; Johm Williams has not. Thats all the difference.

  • I do not agree with that, but I also think that the perception of music and musical taste are entirely subjective things, and as such purely a matter of personal preference. If you like this rendition better than Williams', that's great :)

  • Music is one of the Art of the 9 Muses; we have to overcome all sujectivisme in Art and look for what is pointing toward the Eternal Beauty.

  • @sjokolade777 If you think John Williams' version of this piece lacks fire you ask for too much, it doesn't get any better than that, I've never heard a better version than his, and it will hardly ever be a better one. Filomena's version is good, but I don't like her attack on the strings, it sounds a little harsh at times, unlike Williams' which is perfect from beginning to end ^-^

  • Yes, John William is now a good and even perfect old man on the guitar, but it sounds like past; Filomena Moretti points to the Future it is something totally different that she brings! Asta la vista amigo!

  • @jllobet if u never have heard a better version than his, that does not prove that there is no better version ;)

  • This is absolutely true. John strives more for perfection in execution than emotion. He's always been that way, but there's nothing wrong with that....I guess.

  • @graveljaw perfection does not exist, and whats more, if one could achieve it, then it wouldnt be art, it would be like midi from computer, without a soul .. so it is better to strive for emotion than perfection..

  • perfection is boring, emotion is good, art is emotion.. ;)

  • She is a beautiful woman, but its not the best performance. John Williams in the Alhambra palace is still my reference for this piece.

  • Look to the inherent possiblilitys of this soul, thats the most important: John William was good in his time, no doubt, but it runs out... Filomena will do it in the future, no doubt about that.

  • twas ok. She look more concern with her presentation than with her actual emotion.theres noting wrong with this except you can hear it. When segovia played it was the guitar that displayed his actual emotions not his face. It was like he was the only one in the room..just an opinion.

  • comment elle joue vite la ouf!

  • impressive, as vidovic version....

  • Never heard or seen anyone playing this piece like you. So much passion your interpretation of this piece was perfect.

  • Nothing can compare to her, her training, her passion, expression, and beauty, she is a goddess of music... Even to listen to her playing without watching her perform, even if i were blind, she would still measure to what she is in spirit..

Saludos.

  • Excellent!

  • I think this is terrific... I love hearing different artists bring their interpretation to music. Slower or faster is not necessarily better, it is just different. I wouldn't want to hear everyone play everything just like segovia... that would be boring. BTW... segovia played this slow because he couldn't play this piece fast, he said as much himself, IIRC.

  • Filomena is amazing. Listen to her play f. torrega's Jota. Ana is good for all you ana fanatics

  • I actually like Filomena's interpretation better. Ana Vidovic does a great job but for my taste her playing is needlessly aggressive sometimes. Especially playing this tune.

  • @iberko i disagree :P i think that what's missing about filomena is speed,...wich ana vidovic has...i don't know, ...but i prefer ana... but i also like filomena's interpretation, because, she's really good too!! sorry for the bad english, i don't know if said some wrong verbs...:D i'm not english

  • oh no dude, the name of this womas is Filomena Moretti, Ana Vidovic is another wonderfull guitarist. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Agreed, her tone isnt right, and the tempo is a bit too fast.

  • wooww the best interpretation i ever heard!!!!!!!

  • Dear Filomena, EXCELLENT EXCELLENT.

    MUCH PASSION. THANK YOU

  • davvero complimenti!!!

  • I like jhon william version of it

  • beatiful excellent ! sublime...

  • I wonder if you interpret Recuerdos de la Alhambra, one of my favorites songs, I love how you play Paganini caprices #24, although I'm not sure but it seems that you jump a variation, but anyway the way you play the guitar is almost heavenly, thanks for sharing your music with the world.

  • Hi. Do you have the link to that video? I would love to hear it. Thanks.

  • Un pur bonheur!!!

  • Her style it's the most similar to the Master Segovia I have seen. Not too fast, but too much sense on it.

    10/10

  • This is the way this piece should be played. Top marks.

  • This and Segovia's interpretation are my favorite versions of Asturias. Filomena uses the "orchestration" of her guitar....I also like that she doesn't strum the guitar too fast......I have her CD, and her use of the different intonations of the guitar enrapture me........

  • i am so happy you posted this. i had been watching this on mezzo years ago. thank you

  • ssshhaaaaaaaaaa¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Excellente interprète, de la personnalité, sensible.

  • i guess her nails brought a bit of harshness to the song. they cause the song to lack the softness and impede flow needed in some parts of the song. but still, great technique and soul!

  • WTF IS WITH THE MINUSES ON THIS COMMENT HE IS *********** RIGHT rofl... fags

  • i'm glad you're able to appreciate my comment. thanks. take a look at the information of the author who posted this video. he/she only posts videos of Filomena Moretti. what makes you think that person can't come by everyday to click on the minus on my comment?

  • molto bene!

  • EXCELLENT , MARVELOUS !!!!!!

  • HEY TO ALL OF YOU!!

Listen to the amazing piano Version of Pablo Galdo in the Youtube as well!!!

  • can someone tell where can i find the music for Asturias with exactly this fingerings please!

  • i saw her in mezzo!

  • I have a new favorite classical guitarist. She is as beautiful as her music. She treats her guitar like a lover, and the expression comes through in the music.

  • veramente bello!!

  • bellisimoo!!

  • She is good! the music exhales from within of her!

  • the Segovia's style (Filomena) values more the guitar.

  • I very like from this interpretation the fact that every note is clear and precise, although, I don't like very much the too many ritardantos and I think it's too much „rubato". On the other hand, I like when she, after the slow part, starts the theme with an accelerando and in pizzicatto.

It's one of the good versions I've heard, though.

  • wonderful interpretation!

  • well her interpretation made me travel through spain, more than vidovic's one

  • Wonderful! And of course you made the BIG LIST - first world list of 100 best favorites from myspace and youtube

  • While I like her interpretation, and I do like Ausurias in many different ways...I think her right hand has too much tension.

Segovia also has pauses when he plays...and I love the rubato and expressive choices he does and the ones here as well.

I don't mean to be harsh in my critique because I respect this version very much.

Some of the comments here are mean spirited; this artist clearly has worked very hard. Respect that. She's a very lyrical player. Too many people just rush this piece.

  • Imatge bona,i musicalment no està a l'altura que caldria

  • Complimenti per l'accordatura

  • I'd say it was the best interpretation of this piece one can watch on Youtube if there wasn't such a grave lack of punch an many important points - sorry.

  • It's mot even that it's slow. It's like, she pauses too many times kind of. I'm guilty of the same thing at times, don't get me wrong, but half the time I do it it's for technical difficulties haha. She's obviously got the chops to book it, and yet she insists on pausing, like the B maj. every single time. Do it the first time, and then hit it and continue after that, don't keep pausing for 2 seconds evry time you hit that little mini-phrase thing.

  • I think Ana Vidovic plays it better

  • Mandou bem demais .........

    excelente interpretação

    linda

  • Sounds very good to me

  • not the greatest ive heard this piece played, but i love what she does at the 1:10 mark.

  • Wow, this is the fastest I've heard someone play this song. She really ought to slow down a bit though, she keeps missing the triplets.

  • type in ana vidovic-asturias , she beats that women :)

  • Oh, yeah, I've seen her play it. She's really good, but I think I actually prefer John Williams' version better.

  • She's good, very good but at times rushed i felt

  • she is just amazing!

    Brava!

  • Excellent!

  • Only just read poupee's earlier, idiotic comments which aren't worth discussing; just wanted to make it clear that my only point of agreement was in regard to maintaining a fixed tempo in the outer sections - something Segovia certainly never did!

  • Thats was amazing

i wish i can play it at this speed

  • Simply fascinating!

  • The best Asturias I've ever heard

  • poupee58

"Very annoying facial mannerisms, come on, u can do beter than that.

    BTW dont look, just listen!

    Greets.

  • fabulous skills

  • lol ...i was trying to play this song :P ..my bro told me : "well Filomena :P u look like someone who's struggling while the real one (Filomena) lives the song :P:P"

  • She's great..just fabulous...

  • Tocas muy bien, además estas hermosa.

  • I say WOW to this women...she played with her passion and flow with the melody...I wish I could play like her...

  • There is more to one song and band that meets the ears. In the way that I am just getting started whit music. I am no artist but love the sounds of 1,000 of years of music or more.

  • where you buy them skills gypsy?

  • punk
