If Gilley knew he was right, he would be open now and have a suit against the Gov and the state for lost revenue.
If Riley thought he was right he'd break in the doors and confiscate the machines. Think about it. If you had these machines in your living room and people had been playing them for weeks, then you get a call, run the people out and chain the doors, what do you think the law would do? Stand by? Turn around and leave? Nope. You'd be in jail without your machines OR your living room.
This is nothing but intimidation by Riley. The Troopers knew they didn't have any right to be there, it almost seems as if the Major was apologetic. Riley just wasted the Troopers pay raise with this stunt.
I notice that most of the folks in Greene County, who are defying the governor, are black. I think Governor Wallace (sorry, I meant Governor Riley) and General Tyson should take about 2000 white state troopers to Greene County and show the rest of the world what Alabama is really all about.
I think that the State Troopers had every right to raid counrty crossings and victoryland. Gambling in the state of Alabama is very much ILLEGAL!!!!! You want to gamble then go to Biloxi, Ms!!!
@mdorough0403 Then the money generated through winning taxes would go to Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, or where ever. I would much rather keep the cash circulating through Alabama.
IF they did NOT have any warrant(s) then they couldn't raid them. The Task Force CANNOT TOUCH VICTORYLAND BECAUSE SETS ON AN INDIAN RESERVATION! This is the same case as if they tried to raid an AFB for Bingo Computers or their Beer Taps! The only people controlling the AFB and military is the military.
Wow... I guess Riley has his head so far up his ass that he forgot how much money this will cost him and the State of Alabama. The Supreme Court overrules him and they said they are LEGAL! If they dare break in that place, they are committing a Class A Felony.
Nice work. Pull 200 troppers off the streets to accomplish nothing.
