  • "what do you want? , I'm doin a f*cking tutorial!" lol

  • I mean nikon over canon haha my bad!

  • Why do you choose canon over nikon?

  • I have a nikon d3100 with a 18-200mm and i'm thinking of getting the nikkor 35mm f 1.8g.

would that be a good choice for as a alround (but mostly landscape/nature) photographer?

    thanks,

  • Well. You just fucked my self esteem.

I thought i would be kinda badass with my canon 550D

  • @MrCookiemafia

Don't let this gear fool you my man - the 550D can produce some amazing images.

Thats all you need to start with - you build your kit over time!

    :)

  • Great video. I find how candid you are very refreshing and to imagine you even use Canon filters........ I wonder how many folks got offended. I am on my way to check out more of your videos but did your lady see this? If so, what did she think about you not answering her call initially.........

  • Wanna put me in your will? ;)

  • Fucking fantastic video dude! haha! Saving up for the 24-70 and 70-200 vr2, I can't wait! Got the d300s at the moment but do plan to go full frame soon. Your video helped a lot man thanks! :)

  • Hey man the main reason why the D3s doesn't have a pop-up flash is that it would sacrifice space in the prism and the viewfinder wouldn't have 100% coverage. That's why the D700 has a pop-up flash and 95% coverage. Nice video you've got some nice gear. Now that the 85mm 1.8G is coming out are you still dropping the cash for the 1.4G?

  • @tony6787 Makes sense brother - never really thought about that.

    Nice one man!

Come to think of it I may not get either - I am still loving the 85D even though shes old, but im doing alot of video work at the moment and probably will invest in some sliders and stedicams to help that side.

    You from syd mate?

  • @scooterphil Nope I'm from the US. That seems like a good investment I'm thinking about picking up the 85mm 1.8G when it comes out if it performs as well as I'm hoping. Have you ever thought about replacing your 60mm 2.8 with the G version? I have it and it's much sharper than my 24-120mm f4 or my 70-200mm 2.8 VR. I was really surprised at how amazing it really is for the price. Focus is pretty quick too as long as you aren't around 1:1.

  • I have to say the 50mm F1.8D is a piece of junk. I ditched mine because it sucked so bad (not sharp and horrid contrast/colors) and never used it, and bought a 50mm F1.8G to try out. It's a night and day difference.....I'd highly recommend checking one out.

  • Nice tutorial m8. Can you please let me know where I can get the wireless release cable for time laps u mentioned. Thx.

  • @morgantey Thanks buddy!!

This is what i use - works perfectly for so many different situations.

( put w-w-w at the start of that link - stupid youtube )

  • Where are the 1.4 primes??? Only like your 14-24. The rest would go on eBay.

  • @feistybastard So your saying you would throw the 24-70 2.8/85 1.4/ 60mm 2.8 micro on eBay to...?

    haha okay!

  • lolXD you are a true dude!!! misses on the phone convo waz lolXD

  • Hahah, I can feel that you said the thing about the megapixels from your heart. My god. It was so true :D Nice video

  • Very helpful information. Love the reviews and tutorials!

  • canon 60d or a nikon? :) (camera And videoer in one)

  • nonikon makes a 10.2 fisheye actualy

  • @spenserh98 Umm... no!

Nikon do not manufacture a 10.2mm, they only have 2 fisheye builds.

    A 10.52.8 DX & 16mm 2.8 , never have they made a 10.2mm!

  • @scooterphil thats what i ment the 10.52 sorry so what kind of hotoghraphy do yu do i like this video

  • not true i have a d3100 with an old 50mm that is not an afs and it works fine its just mf

  • @spenserh98 True, I should have added at the end if you want an AF feature.. forgot to mention it.

  • I got a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 it works great for landscapes and taking pics of my construction jobs. it was like $650 compare to $2k for nikon 14-24mm f2.8 it was a good buy for me. I wonder if you can recommend a more affordable option to substitute a nikon 24-70mm f2.8 I really want this lens but don't want to spend that much money now as I kind a start in photography mainly to fill in slow seasons in construction. I would love to do only photography some day tho.

  • @vitconstruction I have used the 11-16mm before and it gave me pretty decent results, but nothing I have ever used matches the speed, clarity, sharpness and minimal in lens distortion of the 14-24, again expensive but in any pro line of work it really holds up.

An option for the 24-70 range i highly sugest sigmas 24-70 2.8 - it ranges at about 8-900AU but does an amazing job, or there is the older 28-70 Nikkor 2.8D - being the D7000 has its focus motor built in you can use the older lenses.

  • Nice set up you have, I like you destroying the megapixels I think it only works for salesmen selling point and shoot cameras at the store sailing cameras to soccer moms. D3s is a sweet thing I wish I could afford one and even if I would my wife would probably kill me if I bought one. My d7000 is really works for me now I have a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 that I use probably 80% at the time and it works great for portraits and stuff. I also got 35mm f1.8 G that is like 55mm on dx body is also nice.

  • @vitconstruction Great stuff mate!!

Defiantly right about the sales pitch on MPs - thats all they have to sell it with because the majority of the human race believes the forumla HigherMPs=BetterCamera haha!

As you saw the D3s is unreal, but it was a major decision and a big step to take, though I am confident its going to last me - i shoot about 2000 images per day with it and it is yet to show one sign on failure.

The D7000 is really good though, & thats also going to last you also.

  • @vitconstruction

The D7000 can easily be versed to the D300 so its RIGHT at the top of the DX line of bodies.. the D300 has a slightly better body as its 100$ magnesium alloy, but the 7000 is right along side it.

I have heard good things about the Tamron, but personally have never used it, any 3rd party lenses I use are typically Sigma.

The 35 1.8 is also really good, fast, light, sharp and doesn't break the bank.
