Hi Lee, I'm not sure about the lower, but I feel safe to assume that it is an aftermarket item of some sort. The bike is OK on the highway,, but it is a little buzzy upwards of 65mph (could use a 6th gear). Check out you local Honda dealer for availability and a viewing. Overall... a nice all around machine.
Thanks a lot for reviewing this video. This bike really hooked me up. I got fews questions though. How does it performce on the high way? Can u keep up with touring bikes like Gold Wing?. And by the way, NT700V do not come with lower fairing but i saw a lower fairing on this bike that make this bike completed. I wonder if you know something about this. If so Where can we buy it in the US? Lee,
Hi , think your videos great and very informative , I'm in the uk and have just bought a deauville. Your tip on the ram mount ball is awesome , mine was installed yesterday as I have a zumo. Any chance you might do a service video or plug change ? Thanks Martin
WOW... a few thousand miles in one trip? Hmmm... if you are use to the power, size and smoothness of an ST, you may find the NT a tad fatiguing in comparison (for that distance anyway). For weekends and commuting… it is awesome and I actually like the less cumbersome size and feel. If you ride great distances, you may want to consider another ST, FJR or even an RT.
@Soundtechguy Thanks for your advice. You pretty much confirmed my initial suspicion that going from an ST to an NT may be a little too much of a sacrifice for my standard longer distance trips. Think I'll keep my ST11 until the new ST1300 comes out. (If it ever does!) Otherwise, when finances permit, I may take a look at the R1200RT. Thanks again....thoroughly enjoy your videos.
Outstanding review, many thanks. I have a 10 yr old st1100 and my only concern is that I do many long distance rides. Would you have any reservations hping on the NT and going on a couple thousand mile trip?
NT-Owners(dot)com I beleive was the original site started by Motorcycle Larry. Due to his accident and spamming, that site has been abandoned and moved to NT-Owners(dot)org. If you access the old site it "should" redirect you to the new one.
I have about 4500 miles on mine. Added the wind deflectors and top case (not the expensive Honda one). Also put on the bar risers and a Corbin seat. The Corbin lowers the overall seat height which is great if you are inseam challenged like me. I am only 5' 6" and this bike fits me great!
Sorry… I have not owned a BMW F800ST. It is a very cool machine in my opinion. You may want to look around the web for additional information because I heard that BMW was having issues with pistons in those. I was on a ride this past summer and a gal was on one. I asked her how she liked it and she said it was her second machine because she had the first one bought back with the lemon law. Some folks have commented that it vibrates a bit much. I would suggest a test drive for sure.
Thanks for the questions. I believe the NT700V for 2011 is ABS ONLY. The bike is now ABS equipped no matter what. To be honest, my bike is not ABS only because I wanted a red one and ABS was only available on the silver model (silly… I know). However, I have had ABS bikes and found it to be a very valuable feature.
Is your bike the ABS one, if so, what do you think about it?
I have a 2008 Yamaha FZ6 which I absolitelly love but I recently have a down on it and I'm sure the lack of ABS had lots to do with. I will buy it again if I could but it's a discontinued model, not to mention the ABS naver made it to the US.
Hi there, I bought one of these brand new in June 2010 and haven't looked back. I use my bike as a daily commute and I never get tired of it. It's just a joy to ride. Now that mine has run in a bit, the engine's not as "lumpy" as it was when I first bought it. I find it to be a smooth ride. I wanted something that was fuel efficient as well as gutsy enough to get me out of trouble. The panniers and storage space is also great so I'm a happy man.
Thanks for all your effort. I live in Michigan. I would appreciate, If you can come up with winter storage tips with video. I own NT700 and It's a very good bike. I would like to store it properly.. thanks again

Very clear pronunciation (for us non-native). Thinking of buying one of these. Thank you, very informative.

Well... I always say "never ask a lady her weight" (if you want to live anyway). But if I was to guess... 130 or so?
Soundtechguy 9 months ago
Kind of an odd question, but how much did your passenger weigh?

NTowners.com seems to be a paintball website. I'd certainly like to hear more about this motorcycle.
