  • Absolutly WONDERFUL I have Gracie singing this but I love this too. thank you for posting.

  • Although YT seems to have "forgotten" my previous comment, fortunately Jack Payne is all but vanished from our collective memory :-)

  • I have very fond memories of Jack Payne's prewar recordings but mostly his programmes as a DJ during the fifties and sixties. Thank you so much.

  • If only the 1920's and 30's bandleaders had lived a little longer they would have enjoyed the ever growing interest in nostalgia for these wonderful records?.

  • Many thanks!

  • It's 'THE' Maestro's pleasure. Good to know you are still with us, you cross my mind every now and again!.

  • You tube problems-kept getting "more than you know" comments for this?A beautiful melodic waltz to commemorate his passing.

  • Always time for a Waltz don't you feel?.

  • Jack Payne will be bringing listening pleasure to some of us for another 50 years or so yet, with every chance that during each passing decade some more people will become as engrossed with his band as we have; he only started his band in 1986 as far as I'm concerned!!! Great number this and a super little tribute. Well done.

  • As always great stuff

    Thanks

    Richard

  • Thanks. He deserves to be remembered.

  • Shortly after his passing, a national newspaper called Jack Payne "half forgotten". Yet 40 years later people of a certain age still remember him. He has also acquired new admirers, (I can think of one or two....)

Your choice of record and narrative are both fitting and poignant.

    Bravo, Sir!.
