Lonesome Crowded West will always be their best in my opinion. But now they are popular and I really don't expect the same soul searching epics they used to put out. MM were my fave band from around '96 up until they broke my heart with that antarctica cd, which sounded to me like an almost song-for-song commercial re-vamping of the lonesome crowded west masterpiece theyve had a good song here and there the last several years but I guess Isaac really is the bastard son of Frank Black predestined to create his best work in his youth They're still a wholly decent band, which is more than you can ask for these days.

Im 32 and have been listening to MM since around 95-96 when I was working at a college radio station. I love going to shows and have people request old songs that hardly anyone there even knows...I met Isaac at the Black Cat in DC during their LCW tour and had a nice conversation with him him at the bar.
