@esquerdo Well, Akebono is obese, and not actually a kickboxer, as for Choi, he actually suffers from acromegaly, which damages and fuses the joints, who just cannot use the full range of motions as normal people, regardless, he still only has 1 proper KO loss, a couple of stops and Cro Cop leg kicked his badly damaged knees for several rounds to a TKO. Choi has a string of well fought point victories and KOs, and uses a careful and conservative strategy, he's a damn good fighter actually.
Akebono could win if he used the "Thousand Hand-Slap" on him.
But seriously, I understand he was a Sumo Wrestler, but if he wanted to do fight in K-1, at least loose some of that belly, well I understand it's good protection from body blows, but, C'MON.
...you're kidding. Akebono, the first foreign yokozuna and one of the best sumo in his time, is a disgrace to combat sports? A disgrace to combat sports because he needed money and this was the only thing to do?
I think he's a bit closer to the heart of combat sports than rich kids who are good at it.
O man..... can Akebono really do something else than pushing? Does he has a gameplan at all? AFter all those years after his amazing sumo carreer, I never, EVER seen him really fight.
