EBAY NEEDS MORE/BETTER COMPETION. AND THEIR COMPETITORS NEED TO ADVERTISE BETTER.If there was a better site out there I'd be gone in a 1/2 second. I saw a program on the best work places EBAY was one of the top 5. The show showed how the workers have all these extras IE gym,gormet cafeteria, dr. & dental office on site all paid for by ebay on top of wages, employees could prctically live there. how about they cut that shit and then they won't need to charge so much in fees.

Reply to Nobodysbuying. I am well aware that Amazon is doing better than eBay. However, three years ago I decided to go with eBay and bought a great deal of stock by listening to Meg Whitman. She was the empire builder! The only thing I can do now is hope for eBay to go into single digits so that I can buy more shares to leverage my shares. Pay-Pal is the real money maker.

eBay is after bigger fish! eBay wants all car dealers across the USA to list all their inventory...eBay wants big companies like Macy's, Walmart, Fingerhut, etc, to start listing all their returns, shelfpulls and overstocks on eBay instead of selling pennies on the dollar to Liquidators!

I agree, I sold an item and disclosed all defects on the listing,including the fact that the item was sold AS IS. The buyer recieved the item, removed a vital working part, opened a paypal claim and got his money back. I was fortunate enough to get the item back but then I was out international shipping charges that included custom fees and I got stuck with an item that was now missing a vital part in addition to it having the prior issues. Paypal is UNFAIR TO SELLERS!!!

Ummm most buyers do not read a sellers terms and sometimes never read the description.Yet they violate those terms and get away with it and then the sellers bad ratings and maybe bad feedback.Uh what part of binding contract does the buyer,ebay & paypal ignore on a sellers listing?.ALL OF IT !

When WE use a CC, software, internet etc, we are faced with a contingency 'license' to read first. BLA BLA BLA AGREE? or DISAGREE? If AGREE, then proceed to use under the TOS conditions, if NOT, PISS OFF! Who reads this shit? REALLY? Who reads the seller's fine print when hunting to buy?

Then the TOS changes with the new administration, management knows most do not read, and they will use the internet system regardless of the AGREE/DISAGREE BS. Same with sellers, they can change their terms

My point is that I feel they use double standards, and conveneantly use the TOS selectively to their advantage. A 'contract' is to be a mutual agreement, and the conditons apply to BOTH SIDES for ALL involved. If either side breeches or breaks the agreement, the contract is nullified and void. A contract is the proof if it comes to litigation. Ebay made the rules, take it or leave it, whether you use Ebay or not. Do we have any say? Do we have a vote, Does HQ OWN EBAY and call the shots?

But we do have THEIR TOS to deal with. So IF ebay does not apply their rules the same for everybody, and allows some to break the rules, but not others, would they not be in breech for their infractions of their own TOS rules? Is it OK for them to break the rules?

Read their TOS conditions, and think about them doing it? Me thinks that ebay does NOT AGREE with their own TOS rules! See for yourself. How does ebay deal with bad buyer or seller crime? Seems like aiding the crooks to me.

Non Paying Bidders are allowed to leave negatives, and if the sellers tries to leave feedback warning other sellers, eBay penalizes them and still would do nothing to absolve the negative feedback from the non paying bidders.

I totally admire those who stood up and called Ebay out. Ebay has been getting away with posturing to the media and Wall Street as good guys for far too long, while they lie and lie and lie. That lady is so spot on! Ebay did lie to consumers. They lied to buyers by not disclosing to them what those starts meant. I think that if buyers knew that even a 4 could put a small business out of business all together, they would be saying, this is not what they wanted to take place. Buyers (thats me too) want the place cleaned up. But not at the expense of good sellers. You'd think ebay dumb-dumbs would actually know who the crooks are. This tells me ebay has no clue how to manage this place
