could you give me the reaction equation for the reaction between copper (II) chloride and sodium metabisulfite? since i keep adding too much and end up making a soluble complex.
Nice synthesis, but I can't see a damn shit. And your flame test does not realy prove it to be CuCl, it could be CuCl2 as well since the Cu2+ ion emits a bleu collor as well.
I don't have a formula; I'm not sure what the ascorbic acid gets oxidized to.

Mix copper(II) chloride with ascorbic acid. This method is a little simpler.
