  • This is the best live recording of any song I've ever heard. I, mean this is so beyond phenomenal. Especially when John Bonham rocks out during the guitar solo. Freaking nuts. This blows my mind whenever I hear it. Gives me chills. "Awesome" doesn't give this justice.

  • This is the best live recording of any song I've ever heard

  • Damn, Robert Plant has a throw me down in the middle of the road, and fuck the hell out of me sound to it..... sigh.....

  • Best guitar solo. Ever. Jimmy Page is God.

  • even to this day , sends shivers down my spine, absolute fuckin classic

  • ya this is from June of 1972 Jimmy Page has stated more then once that this show was the apex of Led Zeppelin at it's very top of there time playing together

  • i have 8 albums of led zeppelin and how the west was won i think is the best of them all

    fucking awesome

  • best.rock.song.ever.

  • what year was this.....

  • @beaver1296xX I think 1971 or 1972 not sure.

  • @contagioushotdog 25/06/1972 (Los Angeles)

  • @contagioushotdog 25/06/1972 (Los Angeles)

  • @Scronz87 Are you sure? I bought this album when it was released in 1997(?) and I'm quite certain the liner notes claimed this was recorded in '75.

  • @polymath7 Yes, "How the West Was Won" album (released 2003) was madewith live performances of two shows, both recorded during U.S. summer tour '72 : (25/06/1972 Los Angeles) and (27/06/1972 Long Beach).

Maybe you mean the "BBC sessions" album (released in 1997 but recorded between 1969 -1971).

Official material from 1975 are the shows at Earls Court.

  • @contagioushotdog '72. It was after the release of Led Zep IV, which was November '71.

  • @contagioushotdog 1972. I'm certain.

  • @beaver1296xX No, it's 1975.

  • @beaver1296xX It was 1972

  • sounds like the begginning of his voice decline, but still epic

  • @jimmygt4 It wasn't so much his voice. I think he was just incredibly bored. He looses so much energy and enthusiasm in the live performances. But the studio recordings were still pretty good.

  • @jimmygt4 Voice decline? This was 1972, he was just getting started. Plus his voice even today is still fantastic.

  • Best version of this song.

    Especially,guitar solo is so great!

  • I am not gay but i wanna fuck robert plant's voice

  • four people hate music.

  • This guitar solo is superior to anything I've heard over the years. It was none other than this specific version of the song that made me want to start playing guitar.

  • 6:02-9:39

  • Bester Gitarrist

    Bester Bassist

    Bester Sänger

    Bester Drummer

    Beste Band

    Bester Song

    aller Zeiten

  • @MrWertklaus eine unterschätzte Band

  • 4 MORON"S!!!!!!!!

  • This might be my favorite version of this song. It sounds incredibly powerful and enigmatic. It also exhibits what incredible chemistry they had as musicians. JPJ's mellotron, Bonzo's drums, and Jimmy's guitar blend so well together. You can see why people thought there was aura of mysticism about them.

  • "And as we wind on down the road, Our shadows stronger than our soul, There walks a lady we all know, Who shines white light and wants to show, How everything still turns to gold, And if you listen very hard, The tune will come to you at last, yeah, When all is one and one is all, (That's what it is) To be a rock and not to roll! And she's buying a stairway to heaven..." Inspiration.
  • @jmlrugby11 shadows taller than our souls!(just sayin) P.

  • DOES ANYONE HAVE A TAB FOR THE SOLO PLEASE?

  • Amazing tune, amazing drums RIP John Bonham; best drummer EVER!!

  • never had better sex. oh wait.. wasn't that an orgasm?

  • i am cuming from my ears

  • 8:07 to 8:50 - My favorite part of the song <3

  • All Four Of The Beatles Dislike This

  • @bry3051 WOW DONT EVER SAY THAT THE BEATLES WERE FRIENDS WITH ZEPPELIN

  • @lionellogan >_> McCartney and Page were great friends.

  • @SirPwn4lot i kinda said that lol

  • @lionellogan A little hyphen - couldn't do any harm.

  • @bry3051 how is that possible if John Lennon & George Harrison are both dead? dumb shit

  • 0:13 the most epic stance i ever have seen

  • best solo of this song live ever!!!

  • The best live version of this song in my opinion. Vocals and everything are just superb.

  • @Pepper2Jason i agree completely

  • @norwaypwnsall I think Mr. Jimmy Page himself could have made this the most valuable piece of "Live" Led Zeppelin only if he included ALL of the encores from June 25, 1972.

The organ solo/thank you and then communication breakdown, ah man its just too good to leave out what the fuck was page thinking? he never gives us the rare songs. at least he included bring it on home though, i find that also the best version. i think it was the last time the song was played also.

  • they can play better at the live's it is amazing THE ONLY BAND!!

  • the best song ever! the best solo ever!! the best version EVER!!!

  • At 7:36 robert plant looks like a combination of sammy hagar and the hobo living mear my town dump....

  • Deffo Best version

  • 6:10 classic orgasmical part of the solo... 7:14 improvised orgasmical part of the solo! amazing!

  • 3 people are fans of lady gaga and justin bieber..... FOR SURE, i hate ignorance of people... These are the creators of heaven and earth, THIS IS LED ZEPELIN!

  • 3 Mother fuckers dislike this mighty song...........MASTERPIECE!!!!

  • I like this version the most, out of all the other live ones.

  • classic rock is rock and every modern rock bands are all poser who try but always fails

  • @threedayparks I know, right? The only good bands now are like... Buckethead because it's beautiful, not really rock AT ALL more like ambient/funk/techno/metal/classical(maybe). Kind of apart from your comment, but the point isn't. (The point being there's pretty much no RECOGNIZED good music.)

  • @threedayparks Guns N'Roses is about as good as modern rock ever got - and that's quite good. But compared to Classic Rock - they should just go home.

And it's funny because GNR were very Classic sounding.

  • @CentraCross That's an interesting, although slightly naive statement, considering Appetite is closer to Led Zeppelin 4's release than today (1987 is closer to 1971 than 2011).

  • @Seafroggys And your point is?

  • I love it! NR 1 always.

  • thanks! I enjoyed that! i'm gonna send it to my kids.

  • "How the West Was How" is the BEST Zep live album ever (LA Forum 1972)!

  • Comment removed

  • i love listening to jimmy improvise his solos on stairway

    this one was orgasmic

  • hi, does anyone know where I might find the 9:30 picture as a poster? It's awesome.

  • This might be their best live performance of this song. Outstanding!.

  • I love the How The West Was Won version of Stairway to Heaven. To tell you the truth, I don't really like the other versions that much. They put way more feel in this one.

  • Omg.. i can't take it anymore, ima have change my pants.

  • (How The West Was Won) Complete Album On My Channel!

  • ...and the forest will echo with laughter... remember laughter?

  • I know the words to this.

  • Omg thanks you!!

I download this version in mp3 one year ago, and from that time i'm looking for place where this version was recorded, and today accidentally i found it!!Thx !

The best version of Stairway to Heaven, this solo is like music orgasm!

  • montreaux 1970, how the west was won 1972, the song remains the same 1973, 1970 good times in la, etc... all good bootlegs there live songs sound so much better imo.

  • agree with @cutter26947

  • Wow- That's the most passionate(and best)drumming you could ever get. (because it goes perfect with the music) Plant's vocals sound clearer than ever. That's the best that Page has ever played live. That was beautiful, what a song.

  • @cousinbros You forgot JPJ :(

  • @cousinbros I agree with you, that's the best "Stairway to Heaven" solo I've heard... fantastic.

  • @cousinbros Indeed, Bonzo was the man!

It would be interesting if he found some tape from another concert and release it. There are concerts with great playing (For badgeholders only, Munich 1980)

Sadly this CD is a bit compressed (loudness) and some of the punch has been sucked to it. Hate the loudness war of mastering carried from a greedy industry.

  • these guys can perform live better than any other band.

  • @0100110101001011 i love led zep. but they are not better than any band live. in fact can be pretty sloppy and hollow sounding.

  • @0100110101001011 So true, must people just don't realise it.

  • @0100110101001011 . Joint with Floyd

  • @0100110101001011 Zeppelin is amazing, but there's absolutely nobody that outperforms Pink Floyd live.

  • Comment removed

  • Beatles were pop.

  • nope the beatles we rock

  • if ya you say so...

  • @cutter26947

hm, if my logical thinking is correct, pop means popular. Wich means that when the beatles were playing rock, they were popular, wich means that they also were a pop band?

  • the beatles had many phases. it seems one album was almost totally different from the previously released one. but hell, why are we talkin about the beatles on a zep video?

  • Comment removed

  • @cutter26947 thats it

  • @cutter26947 LOL at those bands...who are they anyway right lol. I grew up listening to this stuff because i hated the crap put out there now days. The only good stuff out there now days are artists who have been around more than 10 years.

  • @cutter26947 you said it old school rock is the best and it should be ruined by these ....i even dont have a correct word for them :\

  • @cutter26947 1000% agreed.

  • @cutter26947 pink floyd isnt rock n roll -_- prog rock

  • @cutter26947 The Beatles WERE NOT rock n roll, they were pop in facts its fair to say that they were the original Jonas Brothers.

  • i used to own the 3cd set and was my favourite set of cds bought it second hand for next to nothing and in my opinion is the only live recordings that are 100% pure quality. it even says inside " this is led zeppelin at thier best " jimy page 2003

  • this is by far the best version

  • I love Robert's singing in this version.

  • How The West Was Won - Great live album, should get it Zep fans.

  • My parents actually have it, I barrowed it, but hell I dunno where it is, searching day and night.

  • led zeppelin are always better in live than in studio... IMPROVISATION GUYS

  • god damn they are so fucking good

  • This is the BEST version ever!!

  • zeppelin was rarely better live then in studio but this series of songs were an exception

  • True, On How The West Was Won, I think all the songs sound better than studio, it sounds epic.

  • 2:26

    3:05

  • 2:26 is from 1979

  • U2 + Stones + everyone else< Led Zeppelin

  • One of the best live versions of this song ever. Neither U2 or the Stones can sniff Zeppelin's jock. Led Zeppelin is far and away the greatest band ever period!

  • thats bull

  • U2 better than Zeppelin? Never.

The Stones? Maybe. But that's a really close one.

  • @elpiometalgod The Stones I'd say are about the same, U2 are nowhere near.

  • best version of any song, truly beautiful

  • This is the true Stairway to Heaven the other one sucks shit

  • Page was alive that night truly beautiful

  • Dude I thank you for this video; It seriously rocks

  • best solo, by a country mile(Y)

  • Gonna be my Funeral song!!!

John Bonham is THE BEST drummer in the world. FULL STOP.

  • i couldnt agree more

    thumbs up

  • at 0:59 is vintage page

  • led zeppelin is my favorite band but my favorite drummer is neil peart

he got nominated for a grammy for

    O Baterista

  • one of the great things about led zeppelin is that their playing has barely degraded over the yeas compared to some bands from that era

  • The picture at 0.12 is an all time classic.

  • does it look like Jimmy Page got a little more asian over time?

  • yes he is a litte bit asian.

  • Rofl yeah he did. good eye good eye

  • jimmy page is awesome

  • neil peart is indeed good, but from i heard, hes not the improvising type (except for his solos)

my top 3 would have to be

    john bonham

    ian paice

    keith moon
