Timing and choice of shots were spot on and the choice of music is a superb choice. BSG and Bear Mccreary's sountrack fit the images brilliantly. @GammaWing1 That would be a *really* epic flight/fight to watch... I don't know if a Viper could handle that "cobra" + loop the SU-27 pulls at 1:58 though, so the Сухой might get a shot at getting behind the MkII.
That being said... yes, I'm a nerd/geek for engaging in that kind of elaborate thinking, but still, I think it would be awesome to watch!

But we must remember we're talking about a fictional space fighter that engages in dogfights, so instead of BVR we need to consider ITS - It's "in the script" for it to happen, since this is entertainment, not real :)

Sisko, I regularly stop by to see this vid, I can't get satisfied with it and I can't tell you how great it is, it's somewhat insipiring I must say....
This is one of the most intense videos I've ever seen on Youtube. The beginning with the Argentinian war set the mood together with the soldiers showing obvious signs of fatigue really set the mood, then came the more technical shots of tanks, air planes and explosions. Together with the moment of the napalm bombing at ca 04:20 a realization came to me "Those are some peoples homes, man." Then around 05:00, we see what can ultimately happen in war. It's a great piece of editing and a great video

I especially like how you capture the burden which each soldier carries. The shot of the soldiers preparing their ammo and the anxiety on the soldiers face is a great touch. And after all the technology display you show an american soldier in Vietnam and his fear. Really amazing work!

It's fairly obvious isn't it? War sucks. It's destructive, people die. But it has a certain rhythm and an ugly energy. The music and images convey that nicely.
12 years? that's a lot of time, man... or should i say "sir". I'm just curious about one thing... does it get hot in there, especially with that huge turbine engine in the back? And is that M1 really an easy target for a heat-seeking missile?
The heat is blown out the back (great for warming up the MREs). It does get hot inside during the summer and cold in the winter if the heater isnt working which is most of the time. The NBC system can be used to keep you cool, but it isnt all that great. I'm sure a heat seeking missle can detect the engine.
Thanks for the info but i'm not entirely up-to-date with the abbreviations (like MRE and NBC).
Overall i take it there are some problems with inside conditions, like temperature/humidity.
Btw, in all your years of service on that tank, did they receive upgrades of any kind or were they just the same from the day they came out the factory doors? I saw they have some pretty advanced targeting systems but i also noticed the gun is smooth, not rifled like that of the Challenger. thx for your reply.

The inside is hot as hell in the summer, especially if you got the hatches closed. If the heater dont work, ice will form on the ceiling of the turret in the winter.
I started out on the basic M1 - 105 MM, rifled. Before Desert Storm we upgraded to the M1A1 which had the smooth bore . They have the M1A2 now which has all kinds of geewhiz stuff in it, But I got out before they arrived.
look up the battle star galactica sound tracks for the new seires should have it on one those if cant find it by its self or check place that sale old music and stuff like for one half price books might have it

The editing was amazing. Great job. I just wish you could have gone into the last movement because that's the best part of Prelude to War, imo.

I know a German Leopard, but there are M1s in this aslo. I should know since I served as a US Army tanker for 12 years on them.

12 years? that's a lot of time, man... or should i say "sir". I'm just curious about one thing... does it get hot in there, especially with that huge turbine engine in the back? And is that M1 really an easy target for a heat-seeking missile?

The heat is blown out the back (great for warming up the MREs). It does get hot inside during the summer and cold in the winter if the heater isnt working which is most of the time. The NBC system can be used to keep you cool, but it isnt all that great. I'm sure a heat seeking missle can detect the engine.

Thanks for the info but i'm not entirely up-to-date with the abbreviations (like MRE and NBC).
Overall i take it there are some problems with inside conditions, like temperature/humidity.
Btw, in all your years of service on that tank, did they receive upgrades of any kind or were they just the same from the day they came out the factory doors? I saw they have some pretty advanced targeting systems but i also noticed the gun is smooth, not rifled like that of the Challenger. thx for your reply.

MRE - Meal Ready to Eat which is basically crap in a package.
NBC - Nuclear/Biological/Chemical
The inside is hot as hell in the summer, especially if you got the hatches closed. If the heater dont work, ice will form on the ceiling of the turret in the winter.
I started out on the basic M1 - 105 MM, rifled. Before Desert Storm we upgraded to the M1A1 which had the smooth bore . They have the M1A2 now which has all kinds of geewhiz stuff in it, But I got out before they arrived.
