Kirbycide is Kirby's one real trump card against Snake. He has to approach Snake for virtually all attacks, which is problematic as Snake out-priorities and out-ranges, and in general has more trouble killing Snake than Snake does him.

His other chance is to get Snake stuck in wall-of-pain.

utilt has no start-up lag, while all of Kirby's finishers do.

Grabbing is just really good in Brawl, especially with characters with fast pummels like Kirby as each hit helps to refresh your moves. And Snake is put at an extreme disadvantage coming from above, and grabbing puts snake above you.
