  • Very helpful, thanks!

  • thank you! this is really cool... amazingly helpful for ALL stringed instruments...

  • Great teaching tool!

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial, it's clear & made more so with the visual resource & I like your manner & teaching style. I'd prefer the window light wasn't coming from behind you, but that's just being picky. Thanks again. Best wishes.

  • enjoyable video and lesson! i also liked that tune at the very beginning. what's it called? :)

  • @iambatx That's the theme tune from the game.

  • Thanks for making and sharing this. You did a great job...

    from Mississippi...

  • very informative video!

  • Charles, it doesn't surprise me in the least that you are one of the contest winners. I figured you for a front runner first time I saw your video. Congratulations!

  • Thank you Tim! I was doubtful after seeing all the great entries.

  • That was a great lesson, indeed! I hope I'll come round to practicing this a lot in the somewhat near future. Thank you!

  • Thanks Win, if you like folk music it's really worth learning the bum ditty in my opinion.

  • Well, I do and I should.

    Thanks!

  • Congratulations Charles. Your entry was awesome and took much effort on your part. I'm gonna eventually work on the bum ditty and add it to the arsenal. Excellent job.

  • Thanks Dom, I'm sure you can get the bum ditty really quickly! I'm gonna add a drop-thumb bum ditty tutorial soon that may be a little more challenging.

  • I loved your graphics! Although I feel a little uncoordinated, I'm practicing the bum-diddy and it is a lot of fun! Thanks for all your hard work to make the video!Congratulations!

  • Thanks Alonna! The bum ditty is great once you have it, because it can make simple tunes sound a bit more complicated. I think its worth the effort.

  • That was a really great tutorial - a deserved winner!

You explained it really well and the graphics complimented it superbly. Thanks!

  • I appreciate your comment Jh, and I look forward to more of your videos!

  • Well done. A really friendly tutorial. It was a great contest. Thanks. KEN.

  • Thank you Ken!

  • Congrats Charles!!!

By the way, the graphical work you did is astounding. Very very nice!

  • Thanks Chronos! I wish I had your room. Your wall is like a natural green screen and you can do a lot of cool stuff with a green screen behind you.

  • Actually... I wish that was my room too! Haha... it was actually a church youth house that my friend is a part of. We planned on doing some silly green screen stuff like having a T-Rex behind me, but were having a hard time because of the electrical socket and window in the background. We eventually left it alone because we figured at least the green was so vibrant that people might be more apt to click on the video. Haha!

  • Charles, What software are you using for your video editing and the fingerboard diagram? Very helpfull.

  • Student version of Adobe Aftereffects, there are good tutorials here on youtube and the one I specifically used for this video (keyframe animation) is in my favorites.

  • Thanks ukedaman, your videos are great too.

  • Great tutorial. Clearly explained. Thanks.

  • Excellent tutorial, Charles! Very helpful.

  • Thanks Tim!

  • You are my teacher. I see this in Japan.

  • Thanks Max, I'm sure I have way more to learn than you!

  • Nice tutorial! Is your fluke amped? And is that a tenor?

  • It's not amped but I think I overloaded the mic on some notes. It's a fluke 'concert' size which is actually a little bit bigger than a standard concert ukulele. thank you!
