Dont pay any attention to the silly rivalry that was all a publicity stunt. I like both bands. The only difference being Ive met the Warhols, I would be a little nervous to meat BJM they are wild and unpredictable.

Id have too agree to dissagree. The Dandys seem to give it a much more "Artsy" vibe if you will, too this cover. Where in the BJM original is a bit more raw, sorta like how Anton always is- thus you hear that in the original compostion. But without a doubt this version is fantastic. I couldent imagine any one who leaves comments on this board play it any better.

And what a lot of people don't realise is that the BJM and the Dandy's have kind of had a love/hate relationship over the years, hence the cover of Stars. In an acoustic version of this song Courtney introduces the BJM as the best band ever and says that everyone should listen to the album, "Thank God for Mental Illness"... i like both bands and have albums from both.. but my heart lies with the Dandy's.. there just some trivia for you.

Self-indulgent? are you freakin kidding me? They rock out! Unlike the BJM (which i also think are a good band, though a tad dysfunctional) they actually have stayed together! They weren't stupid about it, which is more than Anton can say about some of his attempts at keeping underground music alive. I think the Dandy's keep it real and have kept this music alive in the 21st century, love it! Though it is funny to watch the antics of Anton on stage kicking fans in the head.
