@darkstoxe : the black and white shade is actually killer difficult at first. But as soon as you get the hang of it it's actually quite easy!! I started on a tutorial on how to draw clothes, but then my computer died.. I'm hoping that i'll be able to finish it when i buy a computer! (i've said that for a year.. and i still can't afford it!!!) sob sob!! ;)

anyways; if you (or anyone else) want some advice regarding clothing, reply to this comment and i'll personal message you!! ;)

@BryanBlack785 : this drawing is a "hybrid". Gordon requested me to draw a certain drawing for his b-day. I used that drawing as reference.. But, i decided to draw the clothes in my own style, coz i really like the "noir" style of black and white ^_^! So all in all, the drawing is not an original, but the shading and folds and dents in his clothes are original :D

hey if you want to start doing the "pro" stuff, i recently got a bamboo drawing tablet for my computer and it came with photoshop elements 7, its a cheaper version of photoshop with similar features...but i use it all the time! the one i got was bamboo craft, it runs around $130 and you can get it at best buy too :) i love your stuff!! hope this helps! :)

@UAEalmarri : yo mate! i used both. I did the outlines with a black pen, and when i started adding the larger parts of black i found out it would be too time consuming to ink with a thin pen.. so i used a black marker. :)

But i browsed the web a bit to see.. and the technique that is similar to this one is actually called Noir comix.

I guess it's a black and white technique (mainly derived from America).

I practice a helluva lot, coz i'm not born with any artistic talent.

I read a lot of books about drawing.

Copying pictures is a good way of exercising, but i find this extremely boring. I actually prefer making my own art!! hehe!!

To draw without trying to copy a picture is hard and requires you to think hard on proportions and angles.. I draw without references a lot!! ^_^

I used pen in this drawing ;) (i've written about it in the description ---->

8B pencil? Then i understand your problem. A 8B is so soft that it is difficult to be precise and make perfect edges.. and yeh, it also have a tendency to leave smudgy areas all over the drawing! ^_^ (at least for me)

If ya still wanna use 8B u can try change the paper. Find some sketching paper that works for u. Otherwise i suggest u to try out 6B or even 4B.

But i'm not very pro at drawing and my noobish self decided to shade the clothes with a pencil to decide wether the clothe wrincles and lines looked ok or not. I did use reference.. but i found the reference to be lacking when it came to the clothing, so all the dents and wrinkles in on the cloak is made from my own imagination.. and thus.. i needed to be sure it looked good.. so i lightshaded with the pencil before jumping into it with a pen! ^_^!!!! =)
