im thinking about getting one once i get a job as an emt def like to go offroading with that other than tires and wheels is it all stock or did u do suspension upgrades
@leonoff89 a lift will cost you about $400 - $10,000+ depending on what you want. The lift in the video was my old lift and cost about $400. Tires and wheels will cost about $2,000. You can offroad with stock suspension and tires but you cannot roll over things that are bigger and have less clearance.
Has this been a reliable truck for you? I am trying to decide what to get since I'm turning 16 next year. These things are really nice, but do they have a decent amount of power to them?
@HedgehogOutdoors The truck has been very reliable as toyotas always are. It would be a great first truck for you. This is the 4 cyl so it doesnt have a ton of power, but it has plenty for everyday driving. If you want to lift it and put bigger tires on it, you will need to regear the axles to prevent a major loss in power.
@especkrx Thanks very much for the reply. If I can find one of the older ones somewhere near where I live I will definitely look into getting one. My friend in the fire department has a '93 Toyota pickup with the 22re in it, still runs great.
the i4 has 160. wont burn any rubber, unless you add some aftermarket s/c and other goodies like TRD exhaust. it has really good MPG around 26-27. if you end up putting a s/c in it you can get it up to about 200 hp. that will spin your tires :) also don't get some crappy performance chip. upgrade your ECU if anything.
@HedgehogOutdoors check this out: URD is making a supercharger for our current 4 bangers. Search URD superchager on TacomaWorld for more info. But if you really need power, go with a 4.0L V6 or a Tundra
@MonkeyBrainSushi The OME lift is probably the best bang for your buck. If you get the full OME struts and coils for the front and OME dakar leaf pack with the long travel shocks for the rear, it ends up coming to about $1100. I also have the u-bolt flip kit, extended braked lines, and Total Chaos upper control arms.
@MonkeyBrainSushi It rubs the fender and cab mount. I have cut those areas now so it doesnt rub. It wouldnt rub if you use 285/75/16 (33x11.5") tires but I have 305/70/16 (33x12.5") tires. I also have 3.6" backspeced wheels which pushes the wheel out a little further and increases rubbing. A 4.5" backspaced wheel would most likely eliminate any rubbing too.
What brand of front bumper is that?

@SteezMonsta2 Ok, thanks. How much would a supercharger cost for like a first or second gen Tacoma? Do they make them for late models anyways?

@especkrx From what I hear, there is a very small market for performance parts for Toyota trucks. Is this true? And I will check that out.
HedgehogOutdoors 7 months ago
@HedgehogOutdoors the largest market out there is for Toyota trucks. .
especkrx 7 months ago
@especkrx Wow, I am surprised by that. What else would make a 4banger powerful? What do you think about cammed Tacomas?
HedgehogOutdoors 7 months ago
@HedgehogOutdoors I dont know - If I really cared I would have bought a tundra. Supercharger is the best for hp gains - that's all
