I saw the Breakfast in America tour at the Miami Jai-Ali froton back in I think March 1978. I still have the ticket stub(somewhere). I just saw him at Epcot Center on Nov. 5th and all I can say is Roger is like fine wine, he just gets better and better!! I can only hope and pray he does a tour of the states next year. This is simply amazing, I was introduce to Supertramp's music when I was 7 and just loved it, I wish he could have written more songs like the ones in the first album, but I still love their music, the sad part i never got to see them live, or him live
Awesome performance that was. Drumming could of been a little more detailed but maybe it was over powered by the orchestra?. I was fortunate to see them live in Paris back in 1979 what a concert that was. The best "live" performance of the band back then. Songs sounded better then the original studio recordings.
I loved the live version of this song on PARIS LIVE. I bought it when I was 15 years old. I am now 42. Maybe I knew something back then. Maybe Supertramp did too.
When you see Roger Hodgson performing you understand aging can be colorful!
As he gets older, instead of slowly losing life, he gains and improves his.
His voice is delightful, his presence on stage is way better, his posture is upright yet gentle, he has a lot of energy (wish I had half), he’s got a kind sense of humor and he has much more love and peace in his eyes, which he doesn’t keep to himself. In fact, he is happy to give them in his tours.
A real masterpiece. Absolutely outstanding! Wunderful! Terrific! Unforgettable! So much nice memories in connection with this song. Thank you so much, Roger, for having composed this fantastic song. I will never get tired of listening to it.

This is the great Roger Hodgson, a cornerstone of Supertramp. What a shame they split and what a great composition this is in all its versions. Hodgson deserves to be recognised for the great musician he is.

Did Roger tell you personally England is what he had in mind or are we both just interpreting the lyrics differently?I believe Atlantas was a peacful more enlightened place and the answers were easy,it's too late?I do believe England's still there and doing OK .
Wiki :- "Fool's Overture" is the closing track from Supertramp's 1977 album Even in the Quietest Moments. Written and sung by guitarist, keyboard player, singer and songwriter Roger Hodgson, the song tells about World War II England and the lessons learned from it
Only the best rock artists can play their music with a full orchestra, once they have established that then their music will forever be immortalized, point in case...Great song!!!
This has always been one of my favorites and this performance of it is wonderful. Appears to have to some audio/video sync issues but those are easily overlooked.
a t-on jamais entendu une plus belle chanson, l,intro à la flute, la montée en puissance progressive du synthé, oui, c,est vraiment son chef-d'oeuvre, rien à jeter., pur bonheur, roger., t'es le meilleur!!!
Superb! Supertramp's music can always be played by or with an orchestra. This video is a sample to demonstrate their quality when playing with a big band of (great) musics
No ... First there are excerpts of Winston Churchill's famous June 4, 1940 House of Commons speech regarding England's involvement in World War II ("Never Surrender")
I didn't think it was possible... it's better than the original.
By the time the violinists made their appearance, tears were running down my face. They still are. I'm one of those people who cries when a work of art is perfect. This one is.
TO br or sister deycallmefigo!! ok no prayer ? there is no prayer than SALAT (namaz) ,but what I mean with that is some music is made to worship ando evil things ,some like SUPERTRAMP,BUDDHABAR ....ETC it helps to think that there is some music which speaks to your soul !!! kind of MEDITATION ,POSITIVE MEDITATION,SALAM.

Fantastic delivery of a fantastic song. The audio/video disconnect seems to be a common problem on YouTube, not sure why (in this case the audio lags the video by about one second). But thanks for posting :-)
