I own this movie on DVD. It's an awesome movie i always loved Lestat he's my favorite character in the movie.Stuart Townsend's performance was so incredible!The effects were so cool like when all the vampires ate and drank Akasha's blood at the end when they all fought and Lestat joined Akasha's side of her new assistant of the vampire clan of bloodsuckers! Lestat is my number one character! I LOVE this song!

this movie is messed up for one thing The MOTHER is not black she may have been but she is so old that she is paler and harder than marble and she didn't eat nobody's heart. the book is way better. interview with the vampire is a better movie. both books by anne rice.

Actually, Akasha was an Egyptian Queen. And if I remember the novel's timeline correctly, she ruled before Rome had power over Egypt and therefore she was African.

@aphrospice Very true. They did say in the books, that she had lived so long her skin would turn to marble as she slept and even awake, it had a pallor to it. Aaliyah was the perfect actress. Obviously african descent, but not 'too dark' to pull off the 'marblized bronze' tone. Love it.

Nah I think even today that Interwiew with a vampire was better than this. Especially Lestat was acted better in that one. Also I hate the fuckin' changes made by the director. Damn, Lestat and ALL the vampires were bisexual because the sex made no damn difference between them. (BTW: Vampires in the book had sex by sucking each others blood "A bit of Sadomasocism")

Yeah the movie was horrible.Akasha is perfect though. Everyone else was horrible at acting. The guy who played Lestat looked completely WRONG for the part. The vampires were mostly hidious. Which is not a commen thing for any of Anne Rice's books. The movie does a horrible job of telling the whole story. 2 movies would have been better...
