asbestos cement factory burning? that is ironic, cause the stuff is virtually indestructible. Natures fire retardant, asbestos! I think asbestos has gotten a unfair bad rap. Not to start a conspiracy, but i have a theory that Asbestos was too effective and some industry players labeled it "bad" to promote other synthetics. Like fiber cement is any better, or drywall dust etc.

This was a chicken processing plant which burned down. The roof was made with asbestos panels, quite a common practice here in Israel up to the 1980s. To this day, there are still countless structures in the country with asbestos.

@emigrantgap good catch but.. what explains asbestosis and diseases of the sort? and the current controversy in Canada about the Asbestos mines and it not yet being labelled a hazardous material at the Geneva convention - 2011.

I have question I'm about to buy a home but there is pipe made of asbestos in one bedroom

My question is should I buy this house or pass and keep looking because I believe I not going feel safe
