I ever wonder of you realized, that Xellos is a Mazoku?! Those kind of guys do NOTHING selflessly like "Jelly Fish brained guy" Gourry did. Xellos like nothing but fear and Anger. And even if it appears, that xellos did somethings selflessly, so you can be sure that it was just a part of the mission he had to solve. And that will never change! A mazoku was made out of negative emotions, so it´s impossible THIS EVER WILL BE HAPPEN!
Yeah, LON probably likes Lina, that's why she lets her use some of her power for the spells (I've read somewhere that unlike mazoku or shinzoku LON CAN refuse to lend someone power for the spell).
Yeah, Xelloss feels NOTHING to Lina except respect. They both respect each other knowing that they can annihilate each other easily.
And fact that Xelloss follows Lina everywhere around? Simple - either she is probably part of his mission or he just follows her because she tends to cause trouble around herself. Trouble usualy means pain, destruction, fear etc. and these are things that mazoku like very much :)
