  • really need to work on your typical accent of hongkongese, kiddo.

nice try though, at least fluent and better than most young kids of today.

  • Ure now a L6 prefect =D

  • his voice is so annoying

  • That "British" accent is too deliberate... but good job exposing some hidden gems of the city...

  • THATS MY COUSIN!!! KEVIN LAU!!!

  • Kevin, you are just great, carry on the goodwork,

  • This is well done with a great local flavor and easily understood for global viewers,

David, life-long fan of Hong Kong food

  • LOL The host's loud voice when introducing the dai pai dong in Central shocked the customers behind him- hilarious!

But anyway, this video is very well done. It's like getting a backstage pass to some of these places. I have been to all types of restaurants featured here, and have always wondered about the origin of the "unspoken" rules for each one.

In response to the modernization of HK, it is inevitable. But I am still able to find preservations of tradition around each corner. :)

  • damn i want to punch him in the face, in a good way.

  • lol this dude is fucking great.

  • who the fuk is that dude ? lol

  • Good job.

  • good job dude!

  • i think its actually good that hong kong is so versitile in the food department... i live in north america and we have all kinds of foods here, so many culutres, so many traditions so many differnt kinds of foods!! and there is a china town in every town!! so if you feel that hong kong is not as cultured food wise as it use to be, look around in other countries! Thank you for sharing this was very informative!! i wanna come to hong kong now, and i want you to be my tour guide!!:D

  • lol i don't think it's bad. You lier.

I think your partner(Brian?) spoke well! Quite like my english teacherXDD

With specific details of every food culture, with well structure.

The director is so professional! And I don't tell lie.

  • oh god u are here

ah so now u have a picture of what we should do hohoho

  • Braising the Colony -

  • hahahaahahaha....Kevin Lau is so cool

  • Mmm may i ask, your acent is very intrestig, where did you learn your english from?

  • presumably diocesan boys' school.

  • nah. we learn most of our English in primary school =P

  • which primary school? i went to Pui Ching, which I think sucks arse in teaching english. my third grade teacher had a weird accent (neither chinese nor american nor brit nor aussie, it was kinda like filipino lol). it was quite sad.

  • diocesan preparatory school, though it's not as good as before now

  • why? I don't suppose it could be attributed to the Handover? Because I've heard the same thing about Pui Ching. That their English program got even worse, among other things.

  • omg he looks so gay

  • @jiafawang2468

nah he is just a nerd.

  • Great documentary , but culture is not all lost in Hong Kong, hey at least where i live, Australia , there is bascially no culture ! haha. the country founded by rejects and prisoners from england, and now its considered a multicultural country, so it all mix with everything, chinese, south east asians, koreans, japs, greeks italians, new zealanders !. So just want to say don't be worried cutlure will always be there , at least from a foreign point of view, Hong Kong will still be unique.

  • a brief discussion about a serious topic in a lively and inspiring mood. Good job!

  • wa ah gor ging yeh wor X)

  • well done, defintely worth the award

i was partiicipating in the compt as well, we were one of the winning team too!

    well done to you guys!

  • hey guys awsome vid and you guys have proven a great point about how big of an impact globalisation and modernisation have on one's culture i am also witnessing my own culture change dramatically to such influences. Great vid and good luck with your other projects if you do end up doing more.

  • well done mate, is sad to see your traditional cultrue being vanished slowly

  • An awesome mini documentary! I'm a university teacher of English in SE Asia and this is definitely award winning. Well done!

  • Very very good job! Makes me miss living in HK!

  • Absolutely brilliant Matt! Keep up the good work! - Your Friend from HKIS Summer Camp of 2006.
