@maverickfa14 It is sad that he pissed his live away and died so early . but if he thought about anybody other than himself it wouldn't have happenedThe 20 year old kid winning the Daytona 500 this weekend proved my statements ANYBODY can win a NASCAR race as long as they have a strong financial backing, good pit crew and good team manager. If you took 100 people and put them in Richmond's life. 75 of them could have become as good of drivers as him. 95 of them would have been better people.

You haven't got a clue what it takes. Trevor is a goddamn good driver, he proved that last year in the nationwide series, on all types of racetracks. Yes you need financial backing to get there, but do you know why he ended up where he did? Because he didn't have the financial backing to stay at MWR.

@maverickfa14 Trevor is a very good driver . and best of all. . . a GREAT ROLE MODEL!!! He is humble. . . has a family life . and gives back so much to society outside the racetrack! I wish him nothing but the best! You can go to any dirt track in america however and find someone who with a ton of money could make it on the nationwide or nextel circuit! I wish Trevor much success and hope he and his family stay so grounded!

What I don't understand is why you won't go spread THAT message, a positive reinforcing one instead of insisting on continuing to trash someone gone for years. And Tim knew he had aids and continued to sleep with girls? Lets see...he slept with and infected lagena lookabill greene in fall 1986, before the years award ceremony...he was admitted to the hospital after the ceremony, when he was told he had aids. @LordHugenstein Roush did a smart thing and picked the kid up and guess what? He got put into a good car for daytona, with good people, and he drove smart and won that race. So if you think its so easy to drive a racecar, go pay the $500 or so that they charge to go to a racing school for a day, get out on the track, and see how you stand. As far as Richmond goes, if you think he didn't have a special skill, you are blind. Go find video of him racing at Riverside, and watch and learn.

He died so early because he only thought about himself? What kind of statement is that? He died from aids for fucks sake, how the hell was he supposed to anticipate that? @hoppy086 did not know that about chip williams, Nascar has shit all over tons of drivers who they tried to run off for not fitting the image of the little christian boy who thanks god every time he gets out of the race car, or the southerner. Richmond showed along with bodine that you didnt have to be from the south to drive a stock car. I wish more drivers would be like him today it would make racing more appealing to a younger audience
