alienware's is actually 2 24'' moniters and you can see the angle bend right down the middle. What these do is eliminate that edge line u get when you put 2-3 monitors side by side so it appears as one monitor.

Ya I'm going to have to agree with you...I actually would've liked it to be taller and a bit wider...if they're 2 monitors together you'll definitely notice the line.

I might buy something like this in the $500-1000 range...at some point you have to agree that it'd be a good value compared to 2 or 3 other monitors on your table.

Apparently there is a special lens involved. The monitors they use are not what I want though, so I'll just have to stick with bezels (I'm looking at 120Hz for nVIDIA's 3D stereoscopy). Bezels really are not bad when they're just to the left and right, but if you use a dual setup you're an idiot lol; a double bezel right between your crosshair!

The resolution is high definition. I sit 28 inches from mine. I no longer have the 46 inch. I just got the 52 inch version of the same tv. You get used to tthe size in just a few weeks.

A monitor like this is too long and narrow. Yes, you get more of a peripheral view but its still narrow. I love my Samsung 46 inch 120 HZ HD LCD TV much better as my monitor.
