Terje is a higher level than genius or even guitar player...he his way beyond .....almost impossible to place Terje Rypdal into any catagory in my opinion.... Tullius

Wonderful! Thankfully, early in his career as a rock guitarist, Rypdal took a hard-left turn into jazz. Because of this providence a) Terje's style has rock and jazz elements syncretized in a miraculous and original fashion and b) he wasn't sucked into the straightjacket of rock marketing which gives even the most gifted musicians a brief (and date-stamped) shelf life

Been nearly 40 since I first heard him. Time just shrieks by huh?
