They will win gold in Vancouver. There is a vulnerability and excitement in their skating I haven't seen since Michelle Kwan. I love this program - so simple and elegant.
I agree with just about all of you. You can see the gears turning with this one. My problem with their skating has always been that you can see the look of determination on their faces as they go into something difficult. It's like they're thinking, "let's not screw this up." I don't see that with V&M. (And, who copied who? Tanith's dress is almost identical to Tessa's.)
no theyre not. other than the fact that both dresses are white(and a very different shade of white i might add), tanith's has lacey sleeves, and tessas has all kinds flowers on the front of hers.
Delicate and beautiful - but I agree with the others - there is something missing.
There is a hesitancy to their skating. Oddly enough, this is what gives it its beautiful delicate feeling, but when I watch this I'm constantly afraid that they'll miss or lose each other - it's like they aren't quite sure where the other skater is supposed to be.
I really don' know why people are such crazy about Maryl and Charlie, he is good but she...her posture is not god, I don't feel them as one couple skating. I hope they can fiz this probelms in the next four yeas, they should be just great for the next oly after 10.
Sorry no way this is even close to Virtue & Moir's new FB is Malahr's 5th Symphony.
Their edges & overall qualiity of skating is not where near V&M.
Davis & White are even better than this but I think if V&M skate their programs like they can then no one should be able to beat them, they are the class of the field.
That lift where Tanith backbends while riding on Ben's skate is incredibly gorgeous. Didnt particularly care for the first lift with Tanith's free leg windmilling to give an illusion of something difficult and exciting. Overall I think the program is effective and with more polish they can be very successful with it. It's gonna be an exciting Grand Prix finale, US Nats, and Olympics!
That lift you said you didn't like WAS very difficult, could YOU windmill your body around with one leg in the air (not that I can either!)? Just sayin'.
Yes, I could actually :) It's all about momentum and leverage. If you deconstruct the lift, you'll realize it's more smoke than actual substance. And I guess that's what bothers me most, they're dancing to Ave Maria while doing the Disappearing Lady magic trick (or insert your favorite magic trick here). They couldn't be bothered to come up with something appropriate?

To be quite honest I would have chosen the Russians over this.

Beautiful and mature. They are definetely able to turn it into a masterpiece - they just have to stop thinking about the medals.
