I just got an ASRock mainboard, and here's the truth: "Instant Boot" is nothing more than Windows standby (instant) and Hibernate (fast). On my Gigabyte boards, this just worked without any software. On the ASRock boards it works exactly the same but requires extra software, and requires a reboot to switch between the modes. Thumbs way down.

Also I have this feature on my motherboard. It is pretty cool, my computer boots up before my monitors can come out of suspended mode! Only down side is, when you "Shutdown" your computer restarts instead, then Instant Boot shuts it back down. Another side not, Instant Boot only works with shutdown/power up, not restarting.
I tried it and removed the slave harddisk for mentanance, and that little piece of s*** software has now made it impossible to boot or even find the primary harddisk. ALL IS LOST and I need to reindstall the intire PC from the beginning.
fukn waste of time, speak faster and just show the damn test faster, i don't get why they put fukn asians up for the demonstration........not being racist since i'm asian myself, but fuck's sake get to the point, this whole video could be done in about 2 mins, or even 1 minute instead of 4....
was planning on getting an ASROCK anyways the asrock extreem 6. because this board can support the new zotac GTX 470 AMP grafics cards in sli those cards have huge coolers and are in the way of the second pci-e slot on most mobo's. but i notice asrock has lots of space between the pci-e slots , i like that very very much. sata 6 gb/s also the usb 3.0 for the front panel and back kicks ass thats 6 usb 3.0 . with 5gb/s grazy ,lol but perfect.

They haven't mentioned the shut down procedure. When you go to shut down, than it first restarts and loads windows normally and than after 1 minute it shuts down. Instant boot, but it takes forever to shut down. so in conclusion this is shit.
@VantieBE its not "sleep mode" an I'm assuming that, with the notice saying to keep it on, means that it can safely boot fast.
You're not going to "instant boot" if you change your hardware about, so again, I'm sure you keep it on for a reason, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I think it's a bit misleading to not include the full system specifications for both machines, and I'm not really sure how this is much different from sleep mode or hibernation, but... uh, okay.

It was advertised on Amazon and I bought it for around £44 as it shows by law in Britain if a company is selling the product through they website and another website they have to owner the agreement. yeah well.. the problem is you cant use instant boot if you want to put a password on your system. and tbh if you live in a city or a house with other people, you are likely to want to put a password on your pc. so this is a no brainer for me. Also your PC takes longer to shut down if you use instand boot, not a huge deal but worth knowing.
i remember one time i put my computer in sleep mode with a game running and multiple windows and then unpluged it and then took it apart, put it back together
and turned it on EVERYTHING WAS STILL THERE i was amazed cuz it was the first time i had done that.

But for the price its just super awesome
There is NO way a computer can do a REAL boot in 4 second, period. This is some kind of "resume" or suspended state of an ALREADY booted PC. That's not the same...
Even with a SATA3 RAID 0 SSD doing 700MB/s you couldn't do it! Just to the POST takes longer than 4 seconds!

I wish they still made Phenom II x3's. I guess they stopped making them because all the triple cores were a guarenteed unlock, unlike the dual cores.
I have a Phenom II 560 dual. The other two do unlock, but only last about 2sec before BSOD.
So I had to overclock it to 4.1 ghz, but a tri core phenom would be perfect for me.

You can't call this a boot, it's a wake from stand-by. S3 and S4 are very similar to this only they lack the function to remove temporary data.
Don't be fooled like I was - I had to boot into safe mode to remove this dodgy app because Windows froze during startup.

also ive seen no other mobo ,that has the pci-e layout so clever.
most mobo's have the pci-e so close ,that the new grafics cards touch each other.
and thats a problem with the zotac GTX cards with AMP cooling .
they are silent but it takes up 3 slots.
so the asrock extreem 6 is really a clever board for tri sli or duo sli . if you have amp cooling

It can be down to a simple coding error, an no ones noticed it because no ones gone to purchase it from a website that looks very tacky.
Get it from a website with a good reputation, not one of those sites that look like you've found it from a webstore fetching site.

@Evadex87 I have plenty of sense. I normally go to microdirect and other companies normally but it one off with shop4usb was the company that advertise the board and never checked with amazon that all. So over 400 people complained. I was just making people aware that all unless making people aware is a crime. If you had any sense? You would have less time assuming on me and look at what the governments are actually doing. Last comment to you I got better things to do. Like reading Science docs.

yeah well.. the problem is you cant use instant boot if you want to put a password on your system. and tbh if you live in a city or a house with other people, you are likely to want to put a password on your pc. so this is a no brainer for me. Also your PC takes longer to shut down if you use instand boot, not a huge deal but worth knowing.

i remember one time i put my computer in sleep mode with a game running and multiple windows and then unpluged it and then took it apart, put it back together
and turned it on EVERYTHING WAS STILL THERE i was amazed cuz it was the first time i had done that.

It is basically restarting and then standing by (fast) or hibernating (regular).
Maybe great idea to someone, but no use for me.

@k0nst4nt1n0s130 its awesome it got instant boot and energy saver and the P43 Chipset makes my Pc alot faster then my old i680 from nvidia the only contras are that everything on this motherboard got only some litlle space and there is just on pcie slot for 1 GPU , but this is because the P43 is no Crossfire/SLI Chipset ... But for the price its just super awesome

There is NO way a computer can do a REAL boot in 4 second, period. This is some kind of "resume" or suspended state of an ALREADY booted PC. That's not the same...
Even with a SATA3 RAID 0 SSD doing 700MB/s you couldn't do it! Just to the POST takes longer than 4 seconds!

Actually what instantboot does.. If your PC boots correctly without any errors for 3 times in a row. It will skip the POST startup test..
