Imaginefree69:
David DID kill (Hebrew word "muwth") the giant Goliath, as recorded in 1 Samuel 17:50.
2 Samuel 21:19 refers to Goliath's brother, Lahmi, as verified by the parallel account in 1 Chronicles 20:5, who was killed by Elhanan.
The KJV inserts the words, "the brother of" at the discretion of the translators in an attempt to clear up the confusion.
The Hebrew term for "brother' is "ach", which can also mean friend, relative, or countryman.
Many blessings!

I have a stone sample from the same place where David found one of the stones that he used to kill Goliath.

Which version of the Goliath story do you prefer?
The one in 2 Samuel 21
in which Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim kills Goliath
or the one in 1 Samuel 17
in which David kills Goliath?
I see two contradictory accounts.
In 1 Samuel 17 David kills Goliath,
whose "spear shaft was like a weaver's rod,"
In 2 Samuel 21 Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim kills Goliath,
"who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod."

Apparently Goliath was a family name, as he had several brothers who were also giants.
