I really love your snare drum/drum sound! Are you using any parallel compression or is it that all old Rogers snares just sound like "the sound"?

@adammormolsteinmusic Hey thanks! There's a lot going on with the snare sound. It's actually a Slingerland, though the rest of the kit is Rogers. There are two overheads on the live take, and then I beefed it up with some close-miked samples from another day. It's a temperamental snare so it sounded like a totally different animal that day. Nothing crazy going on compression-wise, I don't think. The hi-hat "clang" also hits at the same time as the snare so that gives it a certain, um, "clang."

I love the use of the bow on the banjo - ghostly! Have you tried using it on the acoustic guitar - I was goofing around with my acoustic and since I play the violin - I was using my bow - but in a much more classical fashion - the sound is kinda different - think cello - but with the chords of the guitar! love love LOVE your music!
