  • This song is so underplayed. And Jonny is such a cool cat!

  • Best song on the bends for me :]

  • Thanks for posting this, I'd never heard it live.. very rare.

  • thom rocks! who the fuck in the whole world could sing this song! no one!

  • This is the first time I listen to a live version of this song. I thought that they have never played it live! Thank you!

  • i don't see what's wrong with it, i think its good. that last chorus is pretty cool

  • Far out, I still can't get over that B he sings in the last chorus; it's awesome on 'The Bends' but being able to perform it live like that is phenomenal. Thanks for the upload, I think this is the only live recording on youtube.

  • @samvall yeah im trying so hard to hit that B4 too lol damn!! i wonder if Thom can still do it today

  • @Equestional yeah I wonder too, I think he could possibly hit it if he belted really hard...

  • too bad its not the live video aswell

  • this was an amazing vocal performance. idk who's complaning about his vocals but that was epic.

  • BTW, where can you find Radiohead boots?

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • @Shmulvey You're welcome.

  • this is the song i play the most with my guitar i love the solo

  • Wow... He actually hit the incredibly high key change at the end. Impressive :D

  • this is actually really good live. Like the rythm guitar add on. Always loved the bends.

  • great, great...

  • .... this is the sleeper hit on "The Bends" - along with "Black Star".

  • @ChannelSurfer I agree, these are my two favorite songs on the album, and every song on this album i have thought "This is amazing i need to listen to it 50 times"

  • @ChannelSurfer Could not agree more. This is probably my favorite song on The Bends.

  • one of the best tracks radiohead have ever done imo

  • ??? This is my favourite song, not just from the bends, it's my favuorite from all the radiohead discorgaphy, with let down and how to disappear. I don't think that this is their worst song of the album.

  • this is their best song. hands down. period.

  • It's amazing how songs from the bends still just randomly hit me and i just have to hear them again and again. I have no idea what the complaining is about. The vocal performance in this is unbelievably good!

  • They probably don't play it due to vocal strain

  • Yeah, I don't think Thom can reach that high B anymore. Which isn't his fault, he's older now, and his voice has obviously aged. Great song btw, This is actually one of my favorite Radiohead songs.

  • He can still hit the A4 in Creep.

  • @smokinsteel it goes up to a b4 in this - also look at the reading 2009 performance of creep, yorke's vocals are past their best sadly.

  • @StillLifeWithMangoes time has past ... as the body, voice grows older ...

  • this song is great!

  • I really think this song was the lowest point on the bends, it just sounds so average compared to the rest. Only my opinion of course!

  • I totally disagree (and I don't know why you have 4 thumbs down, it's just your opinion!)

When Thom hits his peak in this, it's certainly a high point in the album.

  • Yeah seriously I don't know why you got 4 thumbs down, I think it's the weakest track too. Not to say it isn't good but yeah it's just kind of average compared to the rest. I like it, but it's not a high point. This is just my opinion as well!

  • with songs like this , it makes me believe on the better world

  • It signals redemption.

  • They have played this song only five times live!

and the last time they did was January, 95

I really hope they decide to play it again, which I think is really unlikely!

  • The singing at 3:00

  • Absolute class song, thanks.

  • I'm guessing because it's written about such depressing subject matter.

  • i don't think so. look at the popular Radiohead songs. they've got more depressive lyrics. No Surprises, Street Spirit (Fade Out), Pyramid Song, etc, etc. but they played these songs on concerts..

  • This song is about the Hungerford massacre though. I would say that even if the lyrics aren't as depressive, the subject material is more potent. It's possible that's why they don't play it.

  • they dont play this live because they dont think is good enough, they've said themself that its the worst track on the album, or their least favorite one...

  • @jonnyswhore pyramid song depressing? Those lyrics to me are some of the most enlightening words I've heard in a song.

  • I love this song makes! me raise through the roof...

    very great pics!

  • Why don't they play this song anymore...it's so amazing!

BTW, I love the pics you used, I haven't seen half of them before. Great video!!
