I was at South Pole when I read about some of the Lakota declaring that they were withdrawing from the treaties which the U.S. government failed to honor. I mentioned this at dinner and a fellow from one of the western states groaned "Not again, what handouts do the Indians want this time?" - but then as I explained what was going on he asked, "Wait, is this something Russell Means is involved in?
