This is easily one of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time. It's just so amazing! This definitely takes the cake for the best water music in the series, as well as one of the best of all time. DKC 2 and DKC 3's tracks were a contrast, i.e darker and more intimidating. I just can't express my love for this song...

When it comes to 2D platformers, I say DKCR is the closest the industry has ever gotten to recreating the feel of the SNES days. Probably because Retro Studios knows exactly what makes the old games so great.

You know what i hate most? People who go on classic game music just to complain about how new games don't have any emotional appeal. Of course, when people say that, they are only looking at Halo and Call of Duty, and I doubt any of these people have even played them. Just because SOME games today don't have that doesn't mean ALL of them are like that. Besides, it's not like DKC was a very emotional game anyways. It's not just games today. The SNES had horrible games too.

@PsychoKrazyTime Agreed. Its just nostalgia at its worst. I dunno about CoD, but personally, I enjoyed Halo. I don't get why so many people hate it. But yeah, just because some new games could be perceived that way, that doesn't make all games like that. I mean, they're still making great games like Mario, Zelda, Okami, hell, we're even getting a new DKC soon.

People just say DKC is emotional because they either they mean to say atmospheric, or its just because of nostalgic attachment.

yeah great tune! My friend played this track and another underwater level song I think from DKC2 while it was snowing on the way back from the movie theatre after seeing Avatar for the first time haha.. very nostalgic moment

it makes me sad how games nowadays just don't have the emotional attachment that the games of the old days had, i think the main thing that games today forget is what made the old games amazing, by making the game actually fun to play, the games nowadays are all about the 'epic story' or 'amazing graphics' in a game, but if they just made a fun game that actually makes people nostalgic like this one, it would be a hit right away

@Zenithprod I have to say that DKCR doesn't give you the feeling the original Trilogy did. The new game is just like a New Super Donkey Kong Bros.

The controls are REALLY bad and the soundtrack isn't as epic as the old ones. I also miss the Kremlings and the opinion to play as Diddy in the Singleplayer Mode.

As much as I love DKCR I agree with you. I think DKCR is the best DKC game, period. Yes, the lack of Kremlings is a let down, BUT I have to say they weren't the same in DKC3 and the Tikis felt more appropriate for a new game. They are more frightening and fits more in the plot (why crocodiles would steal bananas?) The controls are not bad at all, they are at their finest just like New Super Mario Bros Wii, the soundtrack is as epic because it has all the tracks from DKC+new ones.
