The word Mad is often used for a way to describe genius that is missunderstood. Just because he is singing about some dark thoughts doesn't indicate in any way of being capable of doing it or even wanting to, to believe he is is just misguided. I believe Justin uses amazing metaphorical poems, full of vivid imagery and rhetorical questioning to express his deepest feelings, Blue October put these poems to music. Its liberating and refreshingly honest. The best band ever.
