  • Beautiful technique! Like ya 10x more than Portnoy!

  • So stiff and not technical BUT awesome overall. Just loosen up and let the groove drive you and you ll be great bro. Many likes.

  • I really love the drums for this song and you done it perfect! Very well!

  • The chorus is really difficult, and u nailed it!

  • Sometimes I had the sensation you were playing a bit rigid. But anyway, great cover dude. Keep up the work!

it is flam (RL) LRLRL ?

    or (RR)LRLRL?

    thank you.

  • i think its RLLRLRL

  • @Fanis753 Or if your a beast you play singles all the way through

  • Hi, great! I play this song live with one of my past DT cover band: there are some strokes you are missing that you miss and make that little magic a fan can appreciate :)

    See you.

(let me know if you you want some hints to play this song more similar to the original)

  • @portnoy256 that would defeat the purpose of him playing a cover. A cover should not be an exact replica.

  • of course you are right but the overall execution seem to follow the idea to replicate as best as possible the original. Anyway the original Mike Portnoy in his learning DVD (Liquid Drum Experiment and others) play some passages in different way than the original :)

  • Portnoy, I'm sure, never plays a song the exact same way twice.

  • @Redurj -> it's really so! :) In fact in the DVD Video he play some songs in a different way than the CD. I remember some important differents strokes in "Paradigm Shift" and "The Dance of Eternity" for examples, but maybe I notice little differences because I study these songs veeery very much years ago... too much :(

    See you!

  • wow really amazing

so .. well started drumming 3 years ago .. (one of those, with no teacher Y.Y cant find any1 who can teach me .... can u teach me ? XD)

  • Here's a tip on how to become a much better player. Begin by releasing every last bit of tension from your body. It only takes one tension in one muscle to ruin a number of moves. Sit with your back straight (be aware of your body at ALL times) and keep your drumset in reach of your arms so you don't have do stretch much. Also, play with intention, ie. play what you intend to play.

Hope this has given you insight into drumming, it sure helped me becoming a much better player. Im self tought

  • I want your kit man :(

  • awesome

  • Well done, friend! :)

  • nice job!!!! 5 stars!

  • Geeez... that was great... keep up the good work. Hope this helps as a great way to encourage you to follow a career.

    Congrats.

P.S.: DT fan for 14 years.
