  • Oye para mi, la segunda mejor canción del album Wasting Light, despues de Walk,

  • I thought in the back n forth doc, it Was Butch Vig that said this song may have been about Kurt. I dont question that it is but Either way it is undeniably done with the most powerfully passionate angst and grace that was meant for someone truly missed and still unforgiven for their departure. This and These Days are very special to me.

  • @icbm777 in the biography of Dave Grohl made by Paul Brannigen it is says this song is actually about his best friend Jimmy Swanson, who died of a drugs overdosis in 2008. Though Dave admitted that this song was in general about friends who he has lost. Kurt Cobain is certainly one of them, but I think it's just not ONLY about Kurt. After all, Jimmy was his best friend. He knew him a very long time, since they were friends on highschool.

  • At some point I've become a Foo Fan Girl. It's been a slow burn but I think I'm there. Officially.

  • in an interview Grohl sayd that the meaning of this song is about a girl that he knew long ago and he knew that that relationship was going to end that way

  • Thank you!

  • kurt should rejoin the band. they would be sooo much better!

  • Lol. This song is NOT about Kurdt. Funny and sort of a peeve that so many people want to make this connection to seemingly every FF song. Ok maybe 2%... 1 cause Krist is in it and 2 cause people knew cobain suicide was imminent. But c'mon... Growl has experiences many things since then where this song is much more derived.

  • @bongnp You're right. Grohl himself has said it's not about Cobain.

  • @bongnp In an interview not to long ago Dave said it did have to do about Kurt a bit and other things...

  • @bongnp "I was inside of you I should have known, there was that side of you".

  • mmmm the Dave

  • awesome!

  • why n1 does a drum cover of this? loool

  • I can't see the dislike red bar

  • Pure power and heart, Awesome!!!!

  • September 16 7:00 p.m. I'll be seeing you guys! Pretty fucking awesome first concert to go to. I mean, FIRST EVER concert and it's Foo Fighters. Yeah, I'm excited :)

  • @XifuckinghatethisX lucky guy or not loool because will be ur best concert ever, so u will have a deception every time that u go to another concert

  • @druggged I'm a girl. lol

  • This is better than the studio version

  • <3

  • I'm still sick over missing this show

  • 3 people should have known

  • Foo Fighters.. Epic Band!!!

  • i just bought the album today!!! :D

  • I heard that, this music, was made for kurt, and i love it, is not the best in the album, but is really well done and have a heart and soul!!!

  • Comment removed

  • After watching this I only had one thing to say, "Fuckin intense!"

  • SPETTACOLO!!

  • This is the first album i bought in 4 years and its money well spent

  • 2 people are completely deaf.

  • how will you know this if kurt is dead? I would not say anything like this...

  • Great Album... .Great song!!!!!

  • Free Album Download @ PakkOut [dot] com

  • Davy grohl

  • Thanks for posting! Man, I love foo...

  • Such a great song.....

  • This is by far the best song on the album. Dave put so much soul and emotion into this one and it clearly shows.

  • Love my Foo's! They've done it again!!! I should've known....

  • two people are obviously fucking retarded and have no idea what real music is. Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters are awesome!

  • Phonexis rise from the ashes of another dead phonex the Foo Fighters are like that with NIrvana without NIrvana no Foo Fighters

  • Dave did admt this song was about kurt cobain in a intrview with nme

  • Why does every single Foo Fighters video have to turn into a conversation about Nirvana? People Nirvana was good (not great, unless your a teen if your a teen their the greatest thing ever because you know your just too full of angst to listen to real rock and roll yet) We should really just sit and enjoy the Foo Fighters separate from Nirvana.

  • was this taken with a regular camera or recorder?? if it's a camera, that is awesome video/audio!! let me know. btw, this is probably one of my fave songs from the album, but i love them all! haha

  • @charleen311 All of the videos were taken using an iPhone 4 :) I just wish I had enough battery life to record the entire show. LOL

  • @mimimiLIKEY ....in speaking of which, how are they live?? i'm debating what i want to see, and i wanna know how their live show is...

    ???

  • I think it's pretty obvious that the lion's share of talent in Nirvana was probably Dave Grohl.

    Cheers,

    bluemichi

  • @bluemichi Dave Grohl only wrote 2 songs with Nirvana. Kurt Cobain was the main songwriter in Nirvana.

  • @RebelThoughts That's fine, but time has shown he was still the more talented one.

  • Too Hott

  • Wheres the love for Pat?

  • I saw the VH1 special of the Foo Fighters, and it was absolutely amazing. This song stood out the most, and I love it!

  • I wish I could press the like button more than once!

  • stunning. this is so beautiful. i can't get over how something so heavy can make me cry.

  • I love Foo Fighters, no homo. I'm getting there new album when it comes out. This is suppose to be the best album yet, and I believed it when I heard this song. The movie Back and Forth is a really good documentary on them. Lots of stuff on the new album!

  • Our little boy nirvana grew.

  • beautifull

  • who is the 1 dumbass who pressed dislike?

  • @foxgirlx3 Yeah, really. Two dumbasses now.

  • @mimimiLIKEY We should've known there'd be a few idiots.

  • @mimimiLIKEY or the samw dumbass twice

  • @mimimiLIKEY Yeah, really. Five dumbasses now.

  • @mimimiLIKEY fuck really now were at 6 smh what has the world come to

  • This is perhaps the greatest song dave ever wrote imho

  • With Butch Vig producing.. them playling on tape.. you can't fail. This is there best record truly one of the best this year

  • Just listened to the studio version of this....it sounds exactly the same!! :D

  • THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM THEY EVER MADE THEY NEED TO KEEP MAKING SONGS AND THE WORLD IS NOT GOING TO FUCKING END IN 2012 GET YOUR FACTS WRITE

  • I should have known, how fucking amazing this album is!

Dave has blew me away in this album, what an absolute god!

  • there are no words to express how amazing this song is, omg. its now my second fav of all time, only beat by imagine by john lennon

  • the thing about music, its probably about both of them.

does anybody know how his guitar is tuned in this song? i cant get my version to match his fingers

  • It's not about Kurt, It's about Dave's childhood friend Jimmy Swanson who died a few years ago.

  • Great, great song

  • Who the @#%$ could dislike this????!!!!!?!?!?!

  • Listening to this song today (April 5th) gives me the chills.

Thank you for the music, Kurt.

  • I have loved foo fighters the most, ever since I found taste in music, bu I never had a fav song just because they were all great in their own way, but this one is in a different league. I get shivers from it every time.

  • Krist Novoselic plays bass in this song on the album

  • @RebelThoughts

Krist plays accordian on it too!

  • orgasmic

  • dave come in greece please...

  • anyone who pirates the new album should be jailed!

  • @alexmiom i downloaded as soon as it was available, because I couldn't wait, I also bought it as soon as it came out :) (yesterday in belgium)

  • @PMagazineLoS

Thats fine, at least you bought the album and Foo Fighters received the money for there work.

  • @alexmiom meant to give you a thumbs up but hit the thumbs down by accident. felt obligated to tell you I FULLY agree with that statement. They made it old school, we should buy it old school.

  • @Dmully

    I agree. CD and/or vinyl

  • @alexmiom So uh.......how many copies do ya wan't???.

  • @alexmiom the above should read: there is no need to pirate this. It's too awesome so go buy 7!

  • best song of the new albulm for me so much power

  • @paddyfinno20 This and Bridge Burning are definitely my favorite songs of the album.

  • Thanks so much for this video, fantastic!I absolutly love this song, can't wait to buy the new album.

  • heres somethng that you all may know or may not know on the album version of this song kris from nirvana plays bass on this track

  • Absolutely fucking epic.

  • with whats happening in my life, and my state of mind. this is probably one of the best lyrical songs i have ever heard along with Holding All These Lies By Korn. Great Song.

  • "And I have wonderful memories of Kurt. Kurt was a great dude. He was a really sweet guy. And it's heartbreaking still, what happened. But unfortunately, it's happened to me more than once in my life. So when I first started writing that song, I was writing it about someone else...when you're listening to it or singing it, you're doing it for your own reasons, not mine." Dave Grohl

    (MTV.com 3-10-11)

  • @cherathree the song is about one of his best friends from childhood. Jimmy Swanson, who died from a drug overdose.

excerpt from Q Magazine's review of Wasting Light: "But in truth, the real inspiration behind the track is Grohl's lifelong friend Jimmy Swanson, who passed away in the summer of 2008 to a drug overdose."

google fooarchive and you'll see the link on the page. and contrary to popular belief, he didnt have novoselic guest on it on purpose. it was just a jam they were doing.

  • @PersonMister Whily Grohl may have felt lonelyness in Nirvana, during times when they both were living together, they were like brothers.Dave was actually doing Kurts chores and they were messin around a lot.Its just when Cobain started that insane heroin thing, Grohl..LEFT him.I can understand why.But dont downgrade it.Just read what Dave said what happened after Kurts death. He had to take fucking therapist.`Only knew him for 3 years`.For some its not a lot of time, for some it is.

  • @PersonMister They were friends, tho not the best at most of times, but heck..why to dedicate his latest award for Kurt? Why still be close with Krist if theres that ghost in-between?They were connected to a degree I dont think we will find out.Dave wont talk about it for next couple years because then he`ll give another reason for all those Nirvana questions. But ive also read interview where he almost started crying, when started talking about all that 91-94 thing.

  • AMAZING! IN ITALY IN JUNE I'M SO HAPPY :D

  • I had the honor of listening to the recorded version of this song today, in the official Foo Fighters White limo.

This performance does NOT do the studio version justice. I'm serious, it was probably the best Foo song i've heard in YEARS.

  • Ohh fuck, looks like this is goning to be best FF records since The colour and the shape. Amazing!

  • 0 Dislikes.. (Y) (Y) (Y)

  • What a cracking song.

  • this video has made me realise that I have to see Foo Fighters play live no matter what. I really hope they play Leeds 2011!!

  • Holy Shit.

  • sick song!

  • It's been almost 15 years now, if Dave hasn't gotten over Kurt, he's got some problems.

Stop acting like you know Kurt and think that because you bought Nevermind that he was your best friend. Everyone that knew Kurt PERSONALLY has gotten over it and has moved on. The people that act like they knew him and still mourn him without even meeting him are the reasons he committed suicide.

Oh, and this is a damn good song.

  • @thatonedude675

Youre an idiot dude. Dave and Cobain were never that great of friends to begin with. Just because they were both in a band that blew up doesnt necessarily mean they were best friends. He only knew him for 3 years. Who WAS best friends? Krist and Kurt. Dave admitted that, and that he was an outcast in the band. He said there wasnt much of a connection outside of the music. Hes from Washington, DC, he didnt grow up with them. Hes NOT FROM WASHINGTON. Christ, people.

  • Milton Keynes is going to be so damn awesome

  • Can't wait to see them at Sasquatch this year. I will be ecstatic if it is half as amazing as this show looks like it was.

  • this song has a "stairway to heaven" vibe wich i like

  • In an interview he did yesterday he said he started writing it about someone that wasn't Kurt but as the song went on it became about many people including Kurt.

  • i dont think its about Kirt and it doesnt sound like guns and roses!lol...it sound like Dave wrote another song!

  • waaaaaa very very good song

  • This is definitely about Kurt Cobain.

  • I dig this new song. I heard he recorded it with Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig (produced of Nevermind).

    Sounds amazing! :)

  • sounds more like guns and roses to me....i bet kurt is laughing right now, hehe

  • I think this song is more about Grohl's friend, Jimmy, who died from a drug overdose in 2009. I think Grohl is saying he should have known enough to help him after already going through something similar with Cobain. From what I've read, Grohl was not overly close to Cobain...but Jimmy was probably his closest friend, having known each other since childhood. I think, given the obvious emotional extent of the lyrics, that would make more sense than the song being solely about Cobain.

  • @skeelow959 I think about them both.Cmon, Dave took therapist and was pretty much fucked up after 1994.`Didnt hear your warning`- Kurt often told them(band),jokingly at the time, that he will do it.And cmon, Krist playing bass and accordeon on such song?Coincidence? If Dave is teasing us with this kinda material then he must realize that he will get those Cobain questions.

And I cannot forgive you yet...sounds like someone did something purposefully to do harm or smth.

  • @Eldererr In an interview on Thursday on MTV.com, Grohl said that he didn't originally write the song about Cobain, but the song has evolved to be about him, as well as other people. So yeah, I think I'm pretty much right on the money with my analysis.

  • @skeelow959 youre probably the only person who knows what theyre talking about.

People expect Dave to be this inseparable best friend or whatever to Cobain, when its just not true. He only knew the guy for 3 years. They had to get along because they were in a band together that blew up but they werent that great of friends. Krist and Kurt were childhood friends. Dave admitted to Rolling Stone in 2005 that he was an outcast and there wasnt much of a connection outside of the music.

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

    *goes back to the point*

First White Limo, Bridges Burning, now this. The Foos have definatly taken a newer awesome path

  • Class!!!!

  • Dave Grohl:

    1991: Nevermind

    2001: Songs for the Deaf

2011: Wasting Light Dave is GOD.

  • @walterp341

Hopefully more to come in 2021

  • @walterp341 2012 IS GONNA HAPPEN! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!

  • @walterp341 nevermind wouldve been great with or without grohl...

    KURT IS GOD!

  • @Drewer123 Nevermind would have NO WHERE NEAR been the same album. The combination was excellent and like Kurt said "we have the greatest drummer in the world". Look at Grohl's body of work. Grohl is 1000x a better musician than Kurt could have EVER been. Personally, I think Kurt Cobain is the most overrated and Dave Grohl is the most underated musician of all time.

  • @JackWillowbee i didnt say it wouldnt have been different only that it would still be great. and no dave grohl is not the best musician of all time. nor was kurt cobain. theyre rockstars not master composers. kurt made music that was very different from anything else. he made a very distinct style. his compositions are true works of art. dave grohl makes typical rock music. hes an awful singer. personally, i dont think his melodies are catchy enough...especially for how repetitive his songs are.

  • @JackWillowbee Yea ur right, dave grohl lead his own revolution to a new type of music and became the number one rockstar in the world... Dave has admitted that kurt taught him almost everything he knows to writing songs.

  • @hockeyfano27 Well, when you're in a band with someone of course you're going to teach each other something. Don't get me wrong, Kurt was GREAT, but Dave is much, much better. He does it ALL.

  • @JackWillowbee you can't compare dave and kurt, imagine how much music Kurt would have made if he was alive, but when kurt died, it set dave on the journey that has gotten him to where he is today. He is amazing, he is not better than Kurt Cobain. They are both amazing.

  • @JonathanNevin I agree. They both are amazing. All I know is Courtney Love's bitch ass needs to release the rights to the discs of unreleased Nirvana songs.

  • @JackWillowbee she really has unreleased nirvana songs?

  • @crazy4baseball47 Around the time the Foo's released "There Is Nothing Left To Lose", I read an article somewhere that said that there was like 30 unheard songs still to be released. When Kurt died, Courtney gained control, she wants ridiculous amounts of money for the publishing rights and won't sign anything until they agree. I believe we got to hear one of these songs on Nirvana's greatest hits cd, "You Know You're Right".

  • @JackWillowbee i dunno about 30 songs.... but there is still a bunch of unreleased Nirvana goods that Courtney Love has control of. maybe if people wouldnt treat her like shit and accuse her of murder she might be nice and let some of this be released.

  • @JackWillowbee Dude, you seriously did not say that, You don't know what Kurt would have done musically if he were still going today, you can't compare them. Kurt is not overratted, he changed rock music, combines beatles like pop melodies with screams and dirty guitars, look at how much influence he had on music in practically a 4 year period of his band being well known. it still sells like crazy today,Not many people have done that, and yes Dave is underrated

  • @walterp341 Not forgetting

    2001: Tenacious D

    2009: Them Crooked Vultures

  • Indianapolis ?

  • Wish I lived in a town i could see them !

  • cheers bey this has made my night.!!

  • song the new album??? certain??? or song`s special...

  • I'm gonna listen to their new album so much it's going to set my CD player on fire. Then I'll go buy about 500 more copies and repeat the process. :D

  • it´s so arrogant n unrespectable to forgive someone who suffers n died without your fuking help. You don´t have right to claim and keep on earning money thanks to him

n his pain. Kurt must forgive you n Krist n many other people for not taking care of him . He was a daddy n a decent person. Now he is a no-body person but didnt mean that he lost his rights. Respect please!!!!!!! Stop to earn money with his pain tell the truth. Grow up guys.

  • @silvinlam

if you were posting this on a Hole video, it would make sense, but for posting it here, you look like an arrogant asshole who probably doesn't even know that much about what he's pretending to know.

when someone dies the way kurt (supposedly) did, it's selfish of that person. no matter what shit is going on in your life, suicide isnt the answer. he obviously had people who cared about him, and people for him to care for.

YOU need to grow up and get your fucking facts right

  • Im super excited about their new album :D

  • Stunning.

That's all I have to say.

  • I hope they will make another record, otherwise there is no meaning in being alive!

  • @Scaronar pretty sure theyll make albums till they all get that old that they cant lift up a guitar.

  • that's what i like to see, a brilliant song with no dislikes

  • Amazing song

  • f*ck Kurt rip. Dave prooved to be everything Kurt thought he was

  • long live ! grunge

  • Its real Its raw and human great fucking music

  • 0 dislikes. Yeah that's right.

  • This album is going to be this decades nevermind in my book.

  • this is the pretender #2 for kurt. feels like a the pretenders.

anyway this new album could gather old nirvana fans and could be most succesful album. this year is happy for ff and nirvana.

  • Who is playing keyboards on the right?

  • So this song is supposedly bout Kurt? It would make sense since Krist is there but EVERY Foo Fighter's song up 'til now is 'supposedly' bout Kurt...

    Where'd you hear it from?

  • @RyanSTH94 i read in an interview a couple years ago where dave stated that hes never written a song about kurt and its all just fan speculation. so this must be the first.

  • I shoulda known that it would end this way I shoulda known there was no other way Didn't hear your warning Damn my heart gone there I shoulda known Look at the shape you're in I shoulda known, But I don't write in One thing is for certain As I'm standing here I shoulda known Lay your hands in mine Heal me one last time Though I cannot forgive you yet No I cannot forgive you yet To leave my heart in debt I shoulda known I was inside of you ....
  • @frabojos huge ty for lyrics!are these the full one?

  • 12 april new album!

  • Wait, what the hell??

Dave's shirt is red at the beginning, then it turns black!! I don't even see any colored lights to do that!

  • @scartissue94 Hahahaha I see what you mean but his t-shirt is black. It's definitely just some lights!
