i really enjoyed the use of the chair as toby. this is the first time ive seen someone do this in recital with a chair and i LOVE this idea. and your vowels are SO forward- its really awesome. beautiful job.
You have a beautiful timbre. Very silky and sweet. I owuld love to hear you sing some baroque or belcanto arias that involve crescendi beginning at pianissimo and cresting at forte only to fall away again in back into pianissimo. Wish I could point to a specific one but I'm going blank at the moment. Well done, though. Congratulations. Perhaps Lascia Ch'io Pianga by Handel. Heck, I'd love to hear you sing the Queen of the Night's Aria for that matter.
it's been a while, but i've sung this aria. and nothing sounded overshot to me. you did a fantastic job on a very hard aria. beautiful, strong, warm, supported voice!! congratulations!
Beautiful song, beautiful voice, but I can see that you were nervous (overshot the first "follow me," forgot the words in one place). If I wasn't so familiar with this aria, I would never have noticed at all. :) Good job, this is a TOUGH piece!
Great Job! Really great voice. Went sharp on the first "follow me" but I'm sure you know that. the um pa pas were supposed to set up the tempo and they were considerably slower. and the 1 2 3 1 there was no call for slowing down in the music. be careful about facing the chair. your voice could not carry to the audience because of the profile position. You did a really amazing job portraying both toby and monica and your voice is incredible. bflat was amazing. Really great job. This is a hard song
