  • @schoolmax The most pathetic part of your comment was at "The", where it started.

  • Happy Easter!!

  • Hands down, one of the greatest solo's ive ever heard

  • Steve Hogarth and Steve Rothery, and very well represent the souls of the lyrical and instrumental marillion, represent, and the whole band's style and school of neo progressive milênio.eles 3 are to be congratulated, and all fans this musical style in the '90s many said they were alive and well sepultado.

  • If this is an excerpt of a DVD, what is the DVD called?. I would definitely like to get it.

  • @casanchezn73 from Dream Theater's Uncovered (an official bootleg). A Change of Season have a part of this show.

  • If this is an excerpt of a DVD, what is the DVD called?. I would definitely like to get it.

  • where top-musicians fail (dream theater) all theorie,,, no heart

  • i have this DVD, you better get it too, to hear good quality :) love the solo

  • 3:26 beautiful harmonic!

  • No one can make a guitar cry like Rothery. Awesome!

  • spectacular solo!! simply spectacular...that backwards tilted neck at the peak is true feeling...genius.

  • @deos , Marillion has nothing to see with metal !!!

  • @instantpoetry He never said such a thing moron...

  • wonderfull

    Me encanta

  • That's a lovely solo from Steve Rothery! Such a criminally underrated player!! There sure were some true legends on the stage that night!! I once met Steve Hogarth after a Marillion gig. A nice guy... \m/ (:o)

  • I remember trippin balls off DXM and listening to this song and it was just holy shit.

  • From 3:50 to the end this song is crushing my mind \m/

  • You want to hear a serious Easter song? Come to our page and watch Jesus drop his hot Easter rap video. That's right, Jesus rapped - and he sounded a lot like Eminem...

  • @SelfmadeMonkeys did he have any little boys

  • Another fantastic song from a fantastic band - loved them with Fish - really love them with Steve - don't be blind - listen seriously to them and then decide if you like them. Fantastic!!!!!!

  • I miss Pete on this rendition.

  • Saw it in 1990.. Fish had left but this guy had heart and passion...

Will you set things right or tare them apart.....

Funny-- I do not hear Yes (but I am a Squire/Anderson fan) but rather David Gilmore meats Genesis...

  • @Jacoisms Agreed. First time I saw them was with Fish, I didn't hear no Yes neither, but a better Prog-Gabrielesque version of what Genesis was doing at the time.

  • Splendid! Brings memories of a love long ago.... She gave me love and this song. 1994 it was. Never i will forget. Never!

  • @MrBrakovich I can relate.... someone gave me love and wonderful friendship and my introduction to Marillion.... Amazing this song makes me emotional and I think how much the special person who shared it with me changed my life...

  • This song takes my spirit to places that aren't from this world. I know it reads cliche, but it's the only way I could express what I feel when I listen this song.

  • @vivelavidarocka Makes total sense to me... :-)

  • @spiritualcat I bet it does...!

  • Yep music is magical and very healing. Especially songs like this!

  • Magnificent live rendition of this brilliant song. Marillion is the best.

  • The piano solo either has a mistake or was made to sound different for this performance. I like it whatever it is.

  • marillion i tylko tyle. the best!!!

  • nice video, too bad Petrucci is quite useless and Myung is just doing nothing... I mean, this song has such a wonderful bass line...

  • I think that Steve Hogarth looks here like Nirvana fan. Maybe it's because of his hair slicked down or facial expression and calm behaviour, but I don't know Nirvana and have this strange feeling. ;)

  • songs absolutely brilliant-im a metal fan but marillion and rush make me smile.

  • yeah!

  • My two favorite bands toghether playing my favorite song of Marillion! that´s pretty amazing.

  • it's probably !

but there is john petrucci too....

they apperas to be very young!

i think this recording is not recent.

  • 1995

It's on the dream Theaer - 5 Years in a Livetime DVD. Hogarth & Rothery guested at this gig along with another few of their favourite musicians.

  • i used to listen to this all the time on an old vhs its so nice im gonna buy the dvd its off once in a live time if i remember right. awsome

  • Myung totally lost it from 3:50 :D They should let Pete to play it.

  • Wow do I see Mike Portnoy and John Petrucci in this video???

  • Yes, you do!

  • Why are they in this video???

  • This was a Dream Theater performance in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. For that concert they got a lot of guest musicians and played cover songs. They played a song with Barney from Napalm Death, this song and they played a instrumental song with Steve Howe. I don't know if the whole concert was ever released, but you can watch these parts on the 5 Years in a LIVEtime DVD.

I'd really love to see the whole concert. :\ You really could see how much fun they had.

  • Wow thx for your reply....Love John Petrucci...and our favorite guitarist is Steve Morse.....

  • Downloaded this of of Kazza or somewhere years ago as it was linked to DT, never thought I would see the actual recording.

I've never listened to Marillion, perhaps I should!

  • just give me fish i love the man

  • who does portnoy think he is, novice, listen to ian and you'll find it's more musical than be-bop, not a clue!

  • followed this band my whole life...love old marillion and new marillion, love fish ...its all good...

  • Okay, so i see John Myung standing, but I don't think he's playing.

  • I LOVE YOU H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Obviously you don't own any of them if you're saying that. They've put out far more interesting things than Season's End.

  • oh no,they make brilliant music, believe me!Listen to songs like "Ocean Cloud" ,"This Strange Engine",or the "Brave"-album.Or see they live,it´s very special(sorry for my english,i hope, you understand):-)

  • with petrucci and portnoy!! amazing!

  • yes you´re right and his behaviour in some interviews is the same...but he´s still one of the greatest metaldrummers ever.

  • This one belongs to my favourites of marillion.saw them 3 times and every gig was great. Since 13 years i´m Dream Theater fan and was so surprised and glad to find my favourite bands playing this together!!! it´s really orgasmic!!!!

  • Haha

I've been a DT fan since... I was about 14 I think, and discovered Marillion from this DVD!

I now own their discographies :D

  • Where can I find this DVD?!

  • Amazon, eBay

I live in near a JB HIFI which I know has several copies...

Honestly, this is brilliant. AND it comes with the DT live in Tokyo 1993 DVD.

  • Steve Hogarth and Steve Rothery are from Marillion, the other ones from Dream Theatre, Marillion is the best anyway

    Carol Aplogan

  • kool song should have more success

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • absolute superbity

  • This cover of Easter with DT is how I first heard of Marillion. I find it amazing how great bands like this are swept uner the rug here in the US.

  • :O AMAZING!

    Dude

That's how I also first heard Marillion!

on the DT 5 YEARS IN A LIVETIME DVD!

  • Love Marilion, all great musicians, doesnt Hogart look like the guy off Shameless

  • The difference is that Jagger can still sing Stones' songs, but Fish can't sing any Marillion song... Anyway, I love both singers, Marillion is just amazing.

  • That's not entirely true. I saw him live on both the Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws anniversary tours and he did pretty damn well on many of the old tunes.

  • Brilliant musicians!

  • i love this song and steve hogart is great too

i prefer fish era but hogart is an awsome singer specially in this song

i did my cover of easter check it out please

    cheers

  • with dream theater!

  • put the information please

  • the drumer is mike?

  • yes! it´s a jam session of Dream theater and their favorits musicians

  • Such a beautiful solo on this, and much as I love Dream Theater and Petrucci, Rothery's playing is a triumph of feel over pyrotechnics on the guitar. But DT have always counted Marillion amongst their influences so great to see some of them playing together here. Shame Mike Portnoy forgot his shirt...

  • Great!! Petrucci, Portnoy and Myung with them!!

  • whoa nvm

  • is that Mike Portnoy?

  • Just look at the way that Petrucci, probably the greatest axeman since Hendrix, watches every note that Rothery plays at the start of the solo. Awesome respect from one guitar genius to another, brilliant to watch.

  • yes you are right , I never noticed that. :-)

  • Wow, very observant and correct. Rare breed you are...

  • @Rushillion And how Steve makes eye contact and tilts his head like: 'You wanna solo?' and John nods back enthusiastically.

  • Muito linda

    simply the best [2]

  • wow!!! Two of my favourite bands here..... Marillin and dream theater!! Long live both of them!! Kisses from Portugal

  • This probably is my favorite song

  • Oh man, that solo!! I bet Petrucci could learn how to play with emotion like SR.

  • thanks for posting this faboulous thing cocogruby... i love the guitar solo and the chant part after it.... (end of minute 3)... must check out more of the hogart-era... the song beautiful is also amazing... hope marillion do more stuff like this and that they come to switzerland :)...

  • watch?v=DKKGzntUc0w see this:)

  • Awesome!!! Two of my favorites - Thanks for the posting.

  • What a big and better sound from that Dream Theater drummer. He plays with chunk and balls.

  • simply the best

  • NICE !

  • Dude...DT and Marillion! That's awesome!

  • Wow. my two favorite bands fused beautifully!

  • a very gentle, understated performance of the song. Very nice...

  • haha i love steve... im even taller than him and im a shorty! cute and joyful tune :) thanks for sharing!

  • One of the better songs after Fish!

I like it! Mike was drunken! Or not!

  • What can I say?

    wanna move to GB!

  • Lost for words, dream guitar.

Happy to live in the same era with'em !!!

  • bravi....

  • viva marillion and DT

  • yeah you rock man marillion an DT is powerful

  • I don't know anyone else but my brother who's ever heard of Marillion! He turns me on to ALL the great bands. Been listening since the early Fish days. Love these guys and this is one of my favorite guitar solos Steve plays. Tried to figure out the riff but I'm not that good.

  • Fandelosbeatles, an Ameican guy I know did just that: Flew in from he USA to see them three nights in a row in the UK and loved it!

I first saw them in Germany with Fish but love both "eras".

  • they ARE a rock band !!! and for sure one of the greatest this world has ever gotta see!!!

shut up dude!! d'ya wha you r talkin about ??

solely they play one song that is a lil slowlyer... thats a totally non-admissible broad-brush decision !!!

    i'm out guys..

    MARILLION FUCKIN KICKZ ASS !!!

  • How can somebody critisize 'Easter"? You're out of your mind guy!

Gracies Marillion

  • Marillion have magic, with Fish, with Steve...

  • Without FISH Marillion losted the old touch of magic....the brighty shine, the fantasy dreams, the kaleidoscopic colors...all had faded away...it's really sad!

  • I felt exactly the same in the beginning Fish left the band but than I gave Steve Hogarth a chance and know I think he is really good but for sure the nostalgy remains because there is only "one" Fish.

  • something else !!!!

  • great solo!!!! i love it

  • what a great song :-) !!! i just love it

  • Rothery is great! Yeah really... ! But guys i have to say it, am really deceived with theo other guys playing. Theywere not really in the music... As if theywere somewhere else..

  • KlaVol, the other guys you are talking about are part of Dream Theater, and you're right, they're not putting the same magic as the other components of Marillion do when they play this song (Pete Trewavas, Mark Kelly and Ian Mosley missing). There's a lot of bass missing...(although BEAST636 does not seem to agree...)

  • marillion, Scheveningen. groet C.Pronk

  • I think it's just you!? I can't hear anythng wrong with it...

  • BEAST636, I think it's not me, it's just that this version of Easter is a bit "weak". There's somehow something missing.

  • Nothing missing... it's live in a club and basically off the cuff. No huge album sound, and no overdubs. Musically it's as good as anything, just different than the album. Marillion doesn't sound like the record live either. If that had been done with Dream Theater's live budget today... it'd sound way bigger.

  • They're consistent tho. I saw them years back in London, not long after Fish left, and this was very much the sound. Um, tho maybe Hogarth was singing with a bit more power, same inflection etc tho.

  • Marillion and Dream Theater are both amazing

  • Rothery is great!

  • Yes Steve Rothery is so great!

  • grande ahi marillion y dream theater

    gran cancion
