This is a Scottish song: " the Gael" written by Dougie Maclean.
You may recognize this as the fiddle folk tune from the film The Last of the Mohicans or the song entitled " the Kiss" in that movie.
The dance is called " the Reel around the Sun" a performance done in Riverdance which is why you see the pictures of the Sun in the back ground. Yes this is a juxta position of a popular song with a disparate video from an unrelated show.

There is a live version (past the intro of course) on youtube if you look for it.
it was absolutely lovely and breathtaking until this gay dancer messed it up....anyway...the irish culture is indeed very interesting, greetings to our catholic brothers in Ireland....

Ya know it's actually kinda funny if you can see this..... but the footwork when compaired between these dancers, and the Shufflers/Jumpers of the Harder Stylez is almost identical. The only noteable difference is that these Dancers only seek to use the lower half of their bodies, thus their balance is always equal and veritical, as a pose to the Harder version where those dancers use both the upper and lower parts of their body, but they use only their upper body to keep balance.
bu müzik, beni benden alan densizlerden geri alıp,bana geri veriyor sevmeyenlerim kahırdan eriyor bitiyor ardına bakmadan gidiyor, ruhum bana geliyor bu melodiler çınladığında kulaklarım sevinç sessizliği haykırıyor sükunetle bu sesi duyduğunda..ruhum derin değil bu müziği duymadığında...
@Clinias Its available on the Riverdance CD or DVD. This music actually has nothing to do with the video. Also, there are youtube clips of 'Reel around the Sun' that you can watch.
The most amazing effect of this style is the sense of kind of floating it creates - the shine of the floor, the tip top stepping, lots of hops. Hops more than the jumps give me that effect, for the jumps they need to 'gravitate' to the ground, touch the soil, in order to jump.
Hop-stepping in the shining floor they skip and bob just above the ground, like insects on the surface of water.
i love this piece of music, but bein honest i would rather watch half naked men running thru the woods than watch a load of people dance with sticks up their arses.....lol
@Sanguineblu Trevor Jones actually borrowed this theme from the Dougie MacLean, a Scottish musician. This song he borrowed is called "The Gael." It is enjoyable, you should check it out.
yo the irish can dance....no lie....im cuban so our dance is different...and dont get me wrong i think all dance is beautiful but these ppl can move their feet like nothing ive ever seen....its amazing
traditional irish dance (well sort of its hardly Rince Feis) its a a theatrical show consisting of traditional Irish stepdancing but the arm movements are not traditianal or the dancing in lines. The song is a scottish folktune
@tinkerbell2o yes, this is a traditional irish dance. I love it so much. My dad was born in dublin, ireland. My favorite irish musical instrament is called the hammered dulcimer. Something to check out aswell, and if u get a chance, listen to someone play one in real life or here on yt.
@Preperationxx 'My favorite irish musical instrament is called the hammered dulcimer.'
Really the dulcimer is not all that traditional in Irish music, the Chieftains claimed it was a Timopan but then theres hardly any evidence it was used extensively in Irish music. 99.999% of all Irish instruments oriinated abroad so it could be traditional at some point. Then again lots of countries call it their tradition mostly Eastern Europe.
You're correct, MsOneiroi77. I live in Ireland and my husband is an Irish traditional musician. I have never seen a dulcimer being played at any sessions. I have, however, seen it played many times in my native Blue Ridge Mountains in the United States.

bu müzik, beni benden alan densizlerden geri alıp,bana geri veriyor sevmeyenlerim kahırdan eriyor bitiyor ardına bakmadan gidiyor, ruhum bana geliyor bu melodiler çınladığında kulaklarım sevinç sessizliği haykırıyor sükunetle bu sesi duyduğunda..ruhum derin değil bu müziği duymadığında...

Hey, where I can hear the music AND the tap dancing at the same time. I want to hear the feet as well! Is it uploaded?
Clinias 4 months ago
@Clinias Its available on the Riverdance CD or DVD. This music actually has nothing to do with the video. Also, there are youtube clips of 'Reel around the Sun' that you can watch.

The most amazing effect of this style is the sense of kind of floating it creates - the shine of the floor, the tip top stepping, lots of hops. Hops more than the jumps give me that effect, for the jumps they need to 'gravitate' to the ground, touch the soil, in order to jump.
Hop-stepping in the shining floor they skip and bob just above the ground, like insects on the surface of water.
Fairly fairy airy Irish.

@LadyStardust45 Yeah, their hand moves were victims of sensorship
- but all the more: when they were limited one way, the creativty burst out otherwise.

@Sanguineblu Trevor Jones actually borrowed this theme from the Dougie MacLean, a Scottish musician. This song he borrowed is called "The Gael." It is enjoyable, you should check it out.

traditional irish dance (well sort of its hardly Rince Feis) its a a theatrical show consisting of traditional Irish stepdancing but the arm movements are not traditianal or the dancing in lines.

Preperationxx 5 months ago
@Preperationxx 'My favorite irish musical instrament is called the hammered dulcimer.'
Really the dulcimer is not all that traditional in Irish music, the Chieftains claimed it was a Timopan but then theres hardly any evidence it was used extensively in Irish music. 99.999% of all Irish instruments oriinated abroad so it could be traditional at some point. Then again lots of countries call it their tradition mostly Eastern Europe.
MsOneiroi77 5 months ago
You're correct, MsOneiroi77. I live in Ireland and my husband is an Irish traditional musician. I have never seen a dulcimer being played at any sessions. I have, however, seen it played many times in my native Blue Ridge Mountains in the United States.
